With that being said, here are the key things you need to know about the JetBlue Plus Mastercard before submitting an application.
Extra rewards, plus higher costs. The JetBlue Plus Credit Card’s 50,000 points initial bonus is six times bigger than the standard JetBlue Card’s sign-up incentive, and the initial spending requirement – $1,000+ in the first 90 days – is exactly the same. 50,000 bonus points also dwarfs the market-average bonus provided in the form of points or miles: 31,964. What’s more, the JetBlue Plus Card actually gives you 5,000-point bonus each year on your account anniversary, without you having to spend a certain amount to earn it. You’ll also get 6 points / $1 in JetBlue purchases that you make, which is twice as much as the standard version provides, plus a $100 annual credit for a JetBlue vacation package that’s not included in the standard offer. Those extra perks come at a cost, though. For starters, the JetBlue Plus Card charges a $99 annual fee, while the standard version has no annual fee. You also need excellent credit to get JetBlue Plus, whereas good credit is enough to garner approval for the standard version. Other than that, the two offers are pretty much the same. You can check your credit score for free on WalletHub to see which JetBlue credit card you’re most likely to get approved for.
Ignore the balance transfer offer. The JetBlue Plus Card offers a 0% for 12 months introductory APR on balance transfers. That’s about the same as the average, but it’s still not as good as you might think. Not only do hundreds of cards offer 0% on transfers for at least as long, but the JetBlue Plus Card also charges a 5% (min $5) balance-transfer fee. The best balance transfer credit cards either lack such a fee entirely or make up for it with a far longer 0% period.
Potential for a very high APR. The JetBlue Plus Card’s regular APR has the potential to be nearly double the market average for a credit card that requires excellent credit for approval (18.04%). That’s problematic considering you need excellent credit to get JetBlue Plus. So if you aren’t comfortable overpaying on interest, don’t plan to carry a balance from month to month with JetBlue Plus.
0% foreign-transaction fee. JetBlue has service to many international destinations, so it’s good that its credit cards don’t charge foreign-transaction fees. This will save you 1.56% relative to the average credit card on every purchase processed abroad, according to WalletHub’s latest Credit Card Landscape Report. And it will enable you to take advantage of Mastercard’s low currency conversion rates. Simply using a no-foreign-fee Visa or MasterCard when traveling abroad can save you around 9% on currency conversion, according to WalletHub research.

Terrible card, terrible customer service. If you do a balance transfer, it must be done over the phone—you cannot do it online as their 'security team' needs to validate any transfer over 1,000 dollars. If you miss their call, they cancel the entire transfer without notice or warning. Barclays is too far behind in security and technology to actually make me feel that my account is secure when everything has to be a phone call.

I signed up for this card during a JetBlue flight and liked their introductory 70K miles reward and 0% balance transfer option. When I returned home, I retrieved my card from the mail and tried to activate it with the QR code on the card, but the card wouldn't activate, and I was given a message stating that. I tried to call the automated system to activate the card and was told again that the card could not be activated, so I called customer service. Customer service said they do that intentionally for those who want to transfer a balance so they can verify. I asked if this meant they wished to waste customers' time and cause unnecessary frustration. There was no response, and I was disconnected.
I called back, and when I gave the new agent my information, they mentioned that I had canceled my balance transfer, to which I said no. They explained that they call and verify all transfers and I hadn't answered when they called from an unknown number. I confirmed that I still wanted to process the balance transfer and asked if they would re-initiate it. They agreed and said they would need to phone me to verify my identity. I pointed out that we were currently speaking on the phone and that I had already provided the necessary information in writing (the balance was $5,000, so it wasn't a significant amount). Nonetheless, they insisted they would need to call me to verify again and did so on the same number I was talking to them on. After verifying it was me, they asked for the account information I wished to transfer, and I told them it was the same as I had written on the application. The woman said they no longer had that information and that they would have to re-verify the transfer since I was providing them with a "new" account as they didn't have my information any longer. When I asked if this meant they would have to call me again to verify, she said yes. At that point, I had enough and told them to just cancel the card. She agreed and asked if she could put me on hold, but I declined. She couldn't cancel the card while I was on the line as their system assumes customers will be okay with being put on hold. She expressed her frustration with me for not allowing her to put me on hold. My response was to question why she asked if it was required. It was an exasperating interaction, to say the least, and I ended the call without my card being canceled.
Do not get this card. I use the Delta AMEX SkyMiles card and love it, never having had an issue. In comparison, Barclays has been disappointing.

So I decided to try one of their Balance Transfer Deals for a rather large charge just to see how well it goes—what a mistake. Barclays, who issues the card, is taking their sweet time to pay the other card company, even though they charged their fee and added it to my balance already. The other card is still not paid and shows no balance transfer, so now two cards have the same charge on them. Absolutely ridiculous—under no circumstances should you use the balance transfer options. They charge you a fee, put it on your card, and take 7-10 days to pay the other card—absolutely ridiculous.

Worst customer service and disputes department. Been a client for over 5 years, never a late payment. This is my main credit card, I spend thousands a month, and they won't increase my limit past $6,000 even though I have virtually no debt and an 800+ credit score. I disputed a $36.00 charge because DoorDash double-charged me for an item, and they sided with DoorDash. I said I want to cancel, and they had no retention offer for me. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Worst credit card I have ever had. They blocked my card three months after I opened it only because I paid in full. I have been dealing with the worst customer service for more than three months trying to fix it. I sent all the documents they asked for, but every time I call, they tell me it is not enough or that I need to wait seven days for my account to unlock, which never happens. I'm tired of calling and waiting on the line, sometimes for more than two hours, and they never fix anything.

DO NOT GET JET BLUE BARCLAYS CARD. twice now i mailed in payments of large amounts over my minimum with only having card a few months . now it has been OVER 1 WEEK SINCE THEY CASHED MY CHECK AND TOOK MY MONEY yet nothing reflected on my account that i paid. i dont need their credit i only got it for the points , when i mailed a check in november it took OVER TWO WEEKS FROM THEY CASHED MY CHECK BEFORE IT REFLECTED PAYMENT TO MY ACCOUNT. again they dont need to give me part of available spending but at least acknowledge and reflect that you did receive my payment when you cashed the check . anyone i speak with on phone says someone will get back to me , and you need to give it time , and its "only " been a week, that a case was opened . when it happened in november it took over two weeks , they said this was just a freaky thing this never happens , so i tried again and here we are again . when you do secured email to them through your login you just get reply someone will contact you ......i dont need them and will close this account as soon as i can without hurting my good credit . the points are not worth it i will use my american express which would never treat its customers like this .DO NOT GET THIS CARD

It serves my needs well. The carrier is the only one who flys nonstop from my home to visit family across the country. Included perks add much value to the equation for me, since I can earn upgraded status based on annual spending. I’ve never had a problem with this card or Barclays.

i applied for my CC with JetBlue, got approved but it did not process in my pc, stayed idle for a long time, i get an email saying is approved but I did not get the 250$ discount promise in the promotion, next morning i called customer support I get hang up on twice, yes twice , they let me talk for a minute and when I explained the situation they hang upon me, I went to the app chat, tried it , again I get disconnected from the chat , nobody wants to deal with this and is starting to sound very screechy, do not trust .

I signed up for the JetBlue card under the impression I was getting 80,000 points with the $99 annual fee. When I received the card JetBlue said I didn't sign up for that and that I was only getting 15,000 points (only 5,000 more than the free card). Their customer service had no accountability nor did they fix anything. I WISH I WOULD HAVE READ REVIEWS, really was too good to be true. How do we hold them liable?
