American Express Balance Transfer Credit Cards

Balance transfer credit cards certainly aren’t Amex’s specialty, and there may not be any 0% transfer cards displayed below as a result. Regardless of whether any American Express 0% balance transfer credit cards are available, your primary concern should be the length of your 0% term, not your issuer’s brand name. The easiest way to find the best balance transfer credit card is to expand your…show more

The first step is finding the right card, which will depend on your credit standing. If you don’t know your credit score, you can check it for free on our sister site WalletHub: https://wallethub.com/free-credit-score/ . If you find that you have good or excellent credit, your best option is likely going to be the Slate Card from Chase, which offers 0% financing for balance transfers and new purchases for the first 15 months, and doesn’t charge either a balance transfer fee or an annual fee ( http://www.cardhub.com/d/slate-credit-card-614c/ ). You can also find our editors’ picks for the best balance transfer cards by credit level here: http://www.cardhub.com/best-balance-transfer-credit-cards/ .

When it comes to initiating a balance transfer, there may be an area on your new card’s application where you can indicate your interest in this type of transaction. If there’s not, you will likely be invited to perform a balance transfer after being approved for an account. It won’t be until then that you learn of your credit line and balance transfer limit, which may or may not be the same, anyway. But if something is unclear along the way, the respective issuer’s customer service department should be able to guide you through the process.

You can also get more information from our guide on the balance transfer process http://www.cardhub.com/edu/balance-transfer/ . Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
