I received letters from Premier for four months after that, thinking they were just sending offers like most companies do after you leave. However, an automatic Apple charge of $10 somehow was approved for an account that was closed 6 days prior to the day of the charge. By the time I opened the letter, the balance was up to $175. I explained that the account was closed and that the contract between them and I as far as fees and interest no longer existed. I was willing to pay them the $10 charge and even an additional $5 on top for the inconvenience caused by their own mistake. Unfortunately, they wouldn't even consider the idea and insisted on the full $175. I was astonished. I knew they weren't the best company, but this incident placed them in a very poor light. Be aware and stay away.

Is First Premier a real credit card?
Yes, First Premier is a real credit card company offering real credit cards that can be used to make purchases and build credit. For instance, the First PREMIER® Bank Mastercard Credit Card is an unsecured credit card for people with bad credit, though it has a 36% interest rate, high fees, and no rewards value.
First Premier unsecured cards may seem attractive because they are relatively easy for people with bad credit to get and don't require a deposit. However, they do charge several fees that make them expensive cards to get. Unlike a deposit on secured cards, none of these fees are refundable.
The First PREMIER® Bank Secured Credit Card is less costly, with a $50 annual fee on top of a minimum $200 deposit. This is still expensive for a secured card, and there are better secured and unsecured cards out there for people with bad credit.
