Orchard Bank credit cards are no longer available, following Capital One’s 2012 acquisition of the majority of HSBC’s United States credit card business. Orchard Bank, as you may know, was a subsidiary of HSBC that was famous for offering credit cards for people with fair credit and bad credit. Capital One unfortunately decided not to keep even the most popular Orchard Bank credit card – the Orchard Bank Secured Card – under its own brand name.

The good news for those of you who were interested in applying for an Orchard Bank credit card is that Capital One is among the few major issuers that target offers to people across the credit spectrum. You might therefore be able to find a Capital One credit card for fair credit (shown below), limited credit, or even bad credit that suits your needs. It’s important to note, however, that comparing credit card offers across many different issuers gives you the best chance of finding the absolute right card for your needs. After all, the discontinuance of Orchard Bank credit card offers just goes to show that you can’t rely on a particular brand’s reputation because the company, let alone its usual attractive terms or customer service, might not be around in the future.
