I’ve taken the temperature of the Southwest Airlines Credit Card (very hot btw) and I’ve seen what’s up with the United Airlines Credit Card, and while there wasn’t as much goin’ on with it as with the Southwest Card, a corporate wrinkle makes the Chase Preffered Card surprsingly interesting to United loyalists. (For anyone out there who reads my little posts/reviews/attempts at amateur personal finance blogging, bear with me). This time around, I thought why not see what one of the littler guys has to offer with its own self-branded credit card? A quick glance at the page will tell you that the Aer Lingus Credit Card is for people with high credit scores and doesn’t charge a fee. You also get 5,000 bonus points after first purchase (good for about a third of the shortest flight your points can get you). When I come to think of it, that’s actually all you need to know about the Aer Lingus Card. You’re probably not going to want to get it unless you ONLY fly aer lingus and do often, seeing as you can most likely manage to get TWO free flights from the initial bonuses available with the SouthWest and United Credit Cards. So, I’d vote no on the Aer Lingus Credit Card.
