I have only had my Arvest classic card for about 7 months and was doing ok until I received a notice stating that I had missed my monthly payment for the last two months which was confusing because I had paid both payments. I called Arvest customer service line to find out why I had received the noticed after holding on the phone for over 30 minutes a rep finally came to the phone. I explain my problem and she stated that there was nothing she could do for me until I sent in proof that I paid. So she gave me a fax number and I faxed her the proof. Three days later she called me back and stated that it was a computer error and it had been corrected. The next month I noticed that I was still being charge the late fees so I call back only to be told that as far as they are concern I will have to pay them because technically I was late because they can only go by what the computer say as for as date received. So I stated is that the same computer that said I hadn't paid. Mysteriously the phone disconnected. I have called and left several complaints and still I have not received my refund for the late fees. After a manager apologized and promised she would send it right out.

I've had my Arvest Classic credit card for several years. It's probably my least favorite card due to the mediocre interest rate and lack of any perks that a lot of cards now offer. They seem to give pretty low credit limits as well. I've never had a reason to call their customer service but would it to be average at best. The only reason I still have this card is because I use it for my fuel expenses to be able to track them apart from normal spending. And since I use Arvest as my checking account, it is easy to pay the balance off each month. I am actively looking for a rewards card that also lets me categorize my spending so I can achieve the same result and gain rewards at the same time. The fact that there is no annual fee is another reason I've held onto the card and may even after stopping the usage on it.

I guess it’s an unsung classic because I’ve never heard of the Arvest Bank Classic Credit Card. Neverthless I’ll do a little review of it because it’s pretty clear that the Arvest Bank Classic Credit Card is classically bad. I mean the excellent credit marketplace us filled with cards offering $100s of dollars in initial rewards bonuses and years’ worth of 0% interest rates. The Arvest Bank Classic Credit Card, on the other hand, doesn’t have rewards. And its introductory interest rates are 4.9% for both purchases and balance transfers. There really isn’t a silver curtain to the classic story of the Arvest Bank Classic Credit Card.
That means you’ll need some alternatives. My favorite cards at the minute are the Chase Sapphire Preferred ($500 cash initial bonus), the Citi Simplicity or the Citi Platinum Select (0% for 21 months), and the Capital One Cash (1.5% cash back across all purchases). Any of these would be far and away better than the Arvest Bank Classic Card.
