If someone offered you $400 and promised to give you a 2% discount on every purchase that you make, with the sole condition being that you have to take a few trips per year, most people would take that deal. That’s why opening the Barclaycard Arrival Plus Card should be a no-brainer for leisure travelers who have excellent credit. It rewards you early and often at a price point warranted by its perks.

Just found out that the Barclaycard Arrival Plus has an unwritten policy that limits how many points you can spend on a single transaction. Customer Service is telling me that they will only allow you to use 200,000 miles, which equates to $2,000 on a single transaction. I cannot find this limit documented anywhere. If you are planning to accumulate miles to a transaction larger than $2,000, you may want to consider a different credit card. I have accumulated almost 300,000 miles to be used to pay for a cruise, but I was told the limit is 200,000. Beware of Barclay's unpublished rules and policies.

I am the very unhappy holder of a Barclay Arrival MasterCard. The benefits for signing up were attractive. The two points per dollar and the bonus for using the points for travel (even though the bonus was reduced by fifty percent shortly after I started using the card) were a plus as well. In addition, because most of my travel is abroad, the lack of international transaction fees was compelling. All good.

But then I began using the card. My card has been blocked so many times that I have lost count. One time, when I tried to make a purchase in Pittsfield, MA, the town next to where I live, more

This card makes it very easy to use rewards by just selecting among those charges you've made over the past four months. If you choose the travel expenses you get the highest value for your credits. Another plus is that if you travel in Europe, you can use this card as a "chip & pin" like the natives' cards. Great for avoiding the lines in a train station and buying your ticket from a kiosk, or renting one of the public bicycles in France, for example. No other U.S. credit card (I'm pretty sure) will work in automated contexts. The only downside is that they seem to be more sensitive more

I got it for the air miles mostly. I've never had a card offering that and was very curious about the system. The overall experience I've had with it has been great. I've racked up more miles than I originally thought I would and the customer service that I have received has been great. While travelling abroad I had an incident with what appeared to be fraudulent charges and they were waived almost immediately. Great credit card experience overall.

The point of a travel credit card is to have a reliable card while traveling. Barclaycard put a fraud alert on my card and cut it off while I was abroad. After 6 phone calls and 3 promises to overnight me a card to Europe, Barclaycard managed to send me a card via direct mail, which of course needed to be canceled since it would not have arrived in any reasonable timeframe. I received a different story from every person I spoke with and in the end did not have a card for the duration of my 3.5 week trip. Barclaycard expressed no concern for the inconvenienced caused and offered more

DON'T GET FOR REWARDS ...It's about impossible to use the reward program. Nothing appears as eligible even car rentals and vacation rentals... You have to call several times to get to use the points and it doesn't work all the time, on things that should be obviously on the list: like car rental through priceline and payment made directly to Hertz or Avis... To much hassle quite frankly.

Rewards, rewards, rewards - that should be this card's motto. With this card you I get 2 times the miles for every dollar spent (all the time) and 5% back on miles that I redeem. You get rewarded for using your rewards! I do not think there are any other cards that do that. Also, the introductory period is great. You get $400 worth of miles for spending $3,000 in three months. Also, don't forget that this card has chip technology for optimized security. You need this card.

I have had this card for about a year now. It is a great one to have. I was able to get no interest on my new laptop for a year and paid it off a month ago. The customer service is also great and worked with me when I was in between jobs so that I didn't get any extra fees.

Horrible customer service. worst that I ever have with any credit card.
My item stolen and need to file a claim. I called the master card and was told that my card does not have that benefit. I insisted. After 3 diferent people handled the call, they finally confirmed that I do have the benefit. After which, the customer rep have difficulty hearing my conversation and take 25 min for a $10 claim. I assure you that my phone has no problem because it is a landline and I use it everyday and never heard about any complaint.
If not because of the travel benefit (2points per dollar and can be more

ZERO STARS! BEWARE! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! If you have any problems, the company won't resolve them! I applied for this card in May because I was planning a six-week trip overseas. It was rated highly and I hoped to use it for a majority of my expenses. The card fine as long as I never had a problem. Unfortunately, right before I was scheduled to leave on my trip, the problems began. They notified me that they were sending me a "new" card because the "new" card had a chip. I immediately called and told them that the card I had in my possession already had a chip. They erroneously more

Terrible time trying to get some simple information about a few transactions. We are disputing a parking ticket and just needed the time of the charge to see if meter lady ticketed us early (which we believe she did). After 2 phone calls, 90 mites of talking to 6 different people, multiple emails via the website, they simply cannot give us that very basic simple info!! Frustrating, comical, and in the end such a waste of time. I'd hate to think what we would experience if anything important needed resolution. DO NOT GET THIS CARD!

If you are one who pays the majority of your balance prior to statement end, proceed with caution. Barclay loves to penalize responsible card owners who pay the bulk of their balance off and avoid interest fees. My account was suspended for 15 days after I paid $1,500 off a $1,600 balance. BEWARE. Good card for awards, but the awards mean nothing when you're forced to pay their high interest rate.

I obtained a Barclaycard Arrival+ card based solely on the advertised perk that the card is a chip and signature card "with chip and pin capability" (explained as pin capability for unattended kiosks). I have just returned from Europe and attempted on two occasions to use the Arrival+ in a self-serve kiosk in a grocery store. Even though this should have been a situation in which the pin-only capability would have activated, the card still demanded a signature - an embarrassing situation when one is responsible for holding up a line while searching for a store manager who can unlock the machine and override the signature requirement. I called Barclaycard more

You must use the card once in the country as a chip & signature and from then on--at least in my experience--all further charges can be chip & pin. (That information, by the way, is insufficiently called to the cardholder's attention, maybe because most cardholders wouldn't care.)

This card has great offers! The monthly promotions that they run give you the ability to really earn some points. Online account management is easy to use and has a convenient mobile app.

I love this card. I use it for business constantly and the miles quickly add up. The 0% APR is what initially sold me on the card but I have been very happy with it overall. They provide great customer service and I have not had a single complaint so far. For people who like to travel, this is a great card.

This is my favorite card by far. I run a evolving business that needs to move capital around fast. and the fast cash advances allow me to do just that. The card also has 0% APR for over a year. This card is also ideal for entrepreneurs working in multiple foreign markets as it has a 0% foreign transaction fee.
