Yes, Mike Williams is starting to play better these days (I like fantasy football), but that’s probably not what Visa and First National Bank mean by BucksBack. They’re likely talking about cash back rewards, which seems weird because the BucksBack Platinum Edition Visa Credit Card seems to offer its rewards in terms of points. You can redeem for cash back along with merchandise and travel though, so I guess that’s where the Bucks come into the equation. I wouldn’t put too much thought into it though because the BucksBack Visa Credit Card really doesn’t stack up too well against the rest of the excellent credit credit card market. Yeah you get 15% cash back at “top retailers” when you shop through FirstShop, but prices are usually a lot higher at this type of online shopping mall than you can find elsewhere so this really isn’t a benefit at all. If you want cash back, cards like the Capital One Cash Card (1.5% cash back across all purchases) or the Capital One Venture Card (basically 2% cash back on travel) are both better options than the Bucks Back Credit Card. Then there’s a card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred which offers an initial bonus worth between $500 and $625 and offers 2 points per dollar spent on travel and dining as well as 1 point for everything else. It too would seem to be far better than the BucksBack Platinum Credit Card. The bottom line is that there are a lot of really good credit cards out there these days for people of the highest credit standing and you can and should do a lot better than the BucksBack Platinum Edition Visa Credit Card.
