Cabela's Credit Card is good as both a standalone credit card and as a rewards-oriented credit card.

You get a nice initial bonus, a low interest rate (even on the higher end of it's variability), no annual fee, and good point rewards if you're a regular customer. It also has a low foreign transaction fee percentage which can be a lifesaver if you travel often and find yourself in a pinch.

Compare this to say the Walmart Store Card. You get more bonus points than you can through Walmart, no fuel discounts though, and a lower interest rate. It's a bit of a toss-up but I'd recommend this card if you more

Cabela's Signature Black member for 5 years: Any rating of one star is pretty well understood to be an indictment on Cabela's performance as well as the card. The reward for being a Black member is limited to 5% back on in-store purchases and being identified as 'affluent' enough to be targeted with extra safari and excursion propaganda. I was not impressed when I finally figured this out lol. I put over 50k on his turkey every year and for no meaningful reward over and above the base level. Even the special Signature sales events are regularly repeated for the general public two weeks later. Every Cabela's sale excludes their more

I'm very happy with the Cabela's Visa card for the most part. You can sign up for it right in the store like I did, get approved immediately and receive $20 in rewards point right off the bat which you can use immediately. The rewards points system is awesome and definitely comes in handy for discounts, especially if you are an avid shopper at Cabela's which I am. My only complaint would be the high variable rate but it seems to be the standard for most cards these days. I do enjoy the fact that there is no annual fee. I've had my card for over 10 years now and more

With no annual fee and decent rewards on your purchases, this Cabela's Visa Credit Card seems like a good offer. The sign up bonus is also a nice feature that a lot of other store credit cards do not offer. The only negatives are that the APR is variable, depending on your credit, and the late fee is fairly high. If you manage to pay off the card on time every month this won't be an issue and you'll just rack up the Cabela's points!

The only extra benefit that would be nice would be 0% APR on big purchases for a certain term (6 months or so).

This looks like a good offer. With no annual fee, low foreign transaction fee, and a standard cash advance and balance transfer fees.
The rewards would be attractive for those shopping at cabella's.
The part that seems unattractive is a high APR.
Also, a lot of credit cards now have introductory rate. This one, however, does not.

This looks like a standard visa card with rewards options for Cabelas. I shop at Cabelas and so the rewards option is attractive. APR falls within standard rates of what I would expect to pay from a credit card. I like the grace period and the fact that there is no fee for overlimit. I am not fond of the cash advance fee on any card, but I don't typically use this feature so it would not keep me from this card.

With no annual fees and ways to earn CLUB points every time you use your card, Cabela's Credit Card seems like a great choice. However, like others have mentioned the interest rate is quite high. The worth of this card would really depend on whether you're a big shopper at Cabela's, and considering I'm not, it wouldn't be worth it for me. But if you are, the reward system seems great -- with a $20 sign on bonus that can be used toward a purchase the very day you sign up and more opportunities to earn points while you have the card, how can you go wrong?

The Cabela Card offers various opportunities to gain CLUB points, such as a $30 sign-on bonus, $20 in CLUB points that can be used the day you sign up, and additional chances to use your card within 30 days of opening an account to earn $10. CLUB points never expire. On the other side of the spectrum, the APR is extremely high. This would deter me from using this card for any substantial purchases unless in an emergency situation.

The interest on this Cebela's credit card is really high! I like the no annual fee and the longer grace period, the bonus club points and extra points back features are nice too. Even the balance transfer fee is higher than most other cards. I think all of mine are 0% balance transfer. Decent card for emergencies though.

Things that I liked about this card were that the bonus structure was pretty decent, no annual fees, and a nice $30 in CLUB Points bonus for using the card on 5 purchases outside of Cabela. The main thing I didn’t like about this card was the 25.14% Interest rate which in my opinion seemed a bit too high. All in all Cabela's Credit Card is a decent card to have.

The interest rate and late fee both seem pretty high for the Cabela's credit card. However, the reward points system looks great, especially if you are a regular shopper at Cabela's. You can earn up to $30 in points within the first month just for opening the card and making only 5 purchases outside of Cabela's! This seems like a really good deal. I like the reward system much more than some of the other store credit cards that I have, such as Menard's and Home Depot.

The late fee is a bit high, but it seems that as long as you have a good credit score, you can get one of these cards with next to no problem. I like the rewards points system, and how when you sign up you can get up to $30 in rewards points to use right then on a purchase. Non-expiring points are great as well! Regular shoppers at Cabela's would really benefit from this card!

What I like about the Cabela's credit card is the up to $35 sign on bonus. It's a great incentive compared to what other stores offer, which is usually only about 15% off your purchase for signing up. The fact that you need excellent credit could be a problem for the average person, so a negative would be that it's hard to qualify for.

What I do not like about the Cabela's Store card is the fact that they require excellent credit to approve you for an account. This is very similar to the REI store credit card too. Even if you have a good job, with good credit you will not get the chance to experience the benefits of this card because they will not approve you without excellent credit. If you do get approved, you do get club points with every purchase which is a great deal to take advantage of.

If you have good to excellent credit and like to shop at Cabela’s, this is the card for you. Not only do you get an excellent interest rate (compared to other department store cards), you earn 2% in club points for all of your Cabela’s purchases. Other perks include no annual fee (another plus compared to most department store cards), and no maxout of points! Great pick!

If you are in great credit standing and love to shop at Cabela's whether it be by shopping on line or in store, this is the perfect card for you. Rather than being a strictly store card like many other cards out there, this one acts as a Visa. This means that it can be used anywhere. Cabela's has an excellent reward structure, and no annual fee either!

If you have excellent credit and often shop at Cabela's (whether online, in store, or by phone) then the Cabela's Credit Card seems ideal for you. The main benefit is that this card is in fact a Visa card, not just a store card, so it can be used anywhere Visa is accepted. There is no annual fee, and the reward structure seems fairly beneficial. Interest rates are not particularly low, but they are not particularly high either. This would be a great card to use whenever you need to shop for anything sold at Cabela's, then pay off the balance at the end of the month and reap the more

I have a Best Buy card that I really like. Best Buy often offers 0% financing for 12 months (sometimes 6 months or 18 months) on purchases. Knowing how nice it is to have that option makes it hard to like the Cabela's VISA Credit Card. While the interest rate is fair, it's not special and neither is the rewards program. To me, this card would be a better offer if Cabela's offered a more regular special (0%) financing for cardholders.

I have never been one to hold a club card but the Cabela's Credit Card would seem like a great place to start. I love that there is no limit on rewards,You can get up to a $35 initial bonus. Also no annual fee and free online services! The apr is not too bad if you fall in on the low end of it at 9.9%

I have to agree with the other reviewers who have said that the interest rates offerred by the Cabela's Credit Card are suprisingly reasonable for a store card. I'm also suprised to see a store card that allows credit transfers. I can see how the rewards program is enticing for frequent customers of Cabela's (both the brick-and-mortar and online stores), especially considering that there is no limit on the amount of points you can earn, but the program is of little use for anyone else.

This card offers a great interest rate for a store card (for those who qualify) at it's lowest limits (10%). That alone makes it a very attractive card for those who have very good credit and can attain that rate. There are no annual fees with this card which also adds to it's appeal. My family has a number of outdoors types in it and I would not hesitate to recommend this card to them. Owners can accumulate points using this card both in store and out of it so this helps when trying to build them up. When you join you get an additional $25 off of your initial more

I love using my Cabela Credit Card to buy gifts for my bf at Cabela's. Cabela's has any and every outdoor activity tools needed, and their fudge is to die for! When using this card, there is no annual fee, no signup fee, and no maintenance required! You gain 2 points for every $1 you spend in store, which gets you discounts on gear at Cabelas when you accumulate enough. You also gain points if using it anywhere else, so if you love to buy sporting goods, this card has great perks! This card also has one the lowest rates I've seen in credit cards, starting at only 10%. Make more

Cabela's Credit Card seems like an okay card for people who shop a lot at Cabela's. The rate has a very high gap between the two interest rates. This card might be a really good deal if your interest rate is at 9.9% but if your rate is as high as 21.17% this is not a good decision. The reward points are an incentive if you shop at Cabela's, and the lack of an annual fee works in this card's favor. This card is not for someone who does not shop at Cabela's frequently. In the end I would say that Cabela's Credit Card is an alright value.

For a store based card, the Cabela's credit card is actually pretty competitive. Most store cards tend to have exorbitantly high interest rates, sometimes in the 26.9% range and this card has a variable interest rate as low as 9.9%!!! While the rewards are not fantastic, in fact if you do not shop at Cabela's the points scheme is useless, the availability of such a low rate is definitely worth consideration and an application. If you are an avid hunter, fisherman or an outdoorsman in general, the discounts that you can earn at Cabela's will make this card worthwhile!

Cabela's credit card is a good choice for people who shop a lot at Cabela. There is a signup bonus of $25 (or $35 if you use it frequently at places other than Cabela). Also, there is 2% cash back on purchases at Cabela and 1% cash back everywhere else. There are other credit card with higher cash back on everywhere purchases. Capital One Quicksilver has a 1.5% cash back everywhere. I would recommend this card only for people who shop a lot at Cabela.

Although you have to excellent credit to have this card, you have to love the low interest fees and non-existent annual membership fee! I love that I can use this card at Cabela's to rack up points, and use it at other retail stores also, it's like I get more bang for the buck! And if I don't want to leave the house, I can use all my bonus points online!

Oh, how I love Cabela's. A condition right off the bat for the Cabela's store credit card is a good-excellent credit score. In the tough times we're experiencing, this may be a drawback to those whose credit score may have taken a blow. One point for every $1 spent at stores other than Cabela's, and two points for every $1 spent at Cabela's makes it very easy to rack up points on both ends! Compared to other store credit cards (like my Saks Fifth card), this card gives more incentive to shop and spend. You'll be spending the cash anyway! This card is totally worth it.

I like the idea of Cabela’s credit card, even though you need excellent credit to obtain it. There is also no annual fee, which makes it even more attractive. You receive a good initial bonus of $35, and also a base and max bonus which I like a lot for long term use. Having a free online service sells me further. There is no max overlimit fee, which makes me feel comfortable using it. The best part about this card is that it was designed specifically for people who shop at Cabela’s, because that is where a shopper sees the most bonus points and savings. Overall, the card is very more

The Cabela's credit card is a good option if you do a lot of shopping at Cabela's. Unlike some store cards, this one can be used other places and still racks up CLUB points (at a rate of 1 point per dollar spent, whereas it's 2 points per dollar in-store) so if you don't have a regular credit card, this one might work well for you. There are a couple of good selling points on this card, like no annual fee and no limit on CLUB points earnings. It also offers some rather competitive interest rates for a store rewards card, potentially as low as 9.99%.

The Cabela store credit card seems pretty decent if you plan to make frequent purchases at the store. What stands out to me is the APR which ranges from 9.99 to 21.17%. If you can get an APR on the low end, I think you are getting a pretty good deal. Many store cards have fairly outrageous APR's that tend to be around 25%. For example, the Belk, TJ Max, and Kmart cards all hover right around 25%. The rewards earned on the Cabela card seem to be pretty average. Its max earn is only 2 points per dollar. The Sportman's Warehouse store card has a max earn of 3 more

I love my Cabela's Credit Card. I use it for all the things I am going to get anyways. I love this store and I would spend a bunch of cash there anyways, so why not save some money. This card has no annual fee and it also gives you 2 percent back on all purchases at the store. The interest rate is not the best but it's comparable to other store cards. My wife has an American Eagle Outfitters card and it has an annual fee and the rewards are much lower. I would stick with my Cabela's Card any day of the week. I would recommend this card more

The Cabela’s Credit Card is a relatively fair store card with some benefits. The initial bonus of up to $35 at sign up is pretty nice, as is the points earn on Cabela gear. The 9.99% possible interest rate on the card is also great; this is a lot lower than other comparable store cards on the market. The fact that there is no annual fee is also a minor plus. In short, if you can get enough use and mileage at Cabela’s, then this card may be worth it, otherwise it is just another store card that may just sit at the back of your wallet.

The Cabela's Credit Card is a great card for frequent Cabela's shoppers, but probably won't be too attractive to anyone else. It is a great deal if you shop at Cabela's and are also a member of Club Visa, because you then get 5% back for every Cabela's purchase, which is pretty much the best cash back deal at a retail store you are going to find. One issue is that you can only spend your cash back on more gear at Cabela's, rather than choosing your rewards like Amazon's card allows you to. The APR is very reasonable though, so this card is a must if you love the more

Cabela's Credit Card is a pretty viable option, bur only for a select few. As most company specific credit cards Cabela's gives you 2% off of purchases from their stores, and when you first sign up you get a nice little 25 dollar bonus when you purchase 5 things from a "non" Cabela store. Once you get your nice little bonus you start to get some generic benefits that you can get with quite an abundance of other cards. I personally love to buy things online and get good rewards based on that, but you can get a similar deal with the PayPal credit card if you make a purchase more

The Cabela's Credit Card is essentially a mix of a store card and a regular credit card. The benefits for shopping at Cabela's can be quite confusing so I'll walk you through them. You get 2% on all purchases by default, but can get as much as 5% if you are a Club Visa member. Typically store cards top out at 5%, so this is very good. You also get 1% on your every day purchases which is also standard for store credit cards like this. While they do offer some small sign up bonuses, they are pretty lackluster and nothing to write about. A good card if you shop at Cabela's regularly though!

The Cabela's Credit Card is a great card, especially when first using it, because of all the rewards you can earn. If you shop here a lot then it's going to be really beneficial. The $25 club rewards that you get to put towards your first purchase is great and then you keep earning points as you keep spending. There's no annual fee which is always a plus in my book since cards like the Southwest Credit card require those. Keep your money! The interest rate isn't too high either which sells the card even more. If you love shopping at Cabela's this seems like a great investment.

The Cabela's Credit Card is a great card to have, especially if you shop at cabelas quite often. I happen to go camping a lot, and I also like to go to the range for shooting with my friends. You can save so much by going to Cabela's it is ridiculous. And by using this card the savings can be even further increased. The no annual fee on top of it is great as well, as no one likes a bunch of unnecessary fees. This is a good rewards card and will help you save quite a bit at Cabelas, definitely worth applying for.

I signed up for my Cabela’s credit card when I purchased my first hand gun. It was great because I got a discount on my purchase, and they gave me a free hiking stick as well. It is great to rack up Cabela’s points on all of my purchases so that I can get more discounts on all of the great things I purchase from Cabela’s. There is no annual fee, but the interest rate is a little higher than most it seems. Other than the higher interest it is a great card with great incentives on the things I love to buy.

Why is there a foreign transaction fee added to my Cabelas credit card for my charges in Canada? What is the fee for? My other Visa card does not have such charges.
Oct 14, 2011

Hi Rhonda - According to Card Hub data, around 90% of all credit cards have a foreign transaction fee and the Cabelas Credit Card is no exception with a 1% foreign fee, which is on the low side since most credit cards have a 3% fee.

Nevertheless, the best approach is to use a No Foreign Transaction Fee Credit Card when traveling abroad so that you can avoid all of these fees. Here is a list of such cards >> http://www.cardhub.com/credit-cards/foreign-transaction-fee/

Hope this helps and thanks for using CardHub.com
