is there a cutoff on earning rewards for 1% cash back. For example, if I made $1million in purchases, would I receive rewards for the full million or is there a point in there that I stop earning rewards.

The Capital One Cash Rewards Card for newcomers is a great card for someone with limited or no credit history and the fact that it has no annual fee is great. Although the APR of 24.99 is pretty high that's to be expected of a card that extends credit to riskier applicants. They offer a rewards program as well which is not very reflective of other cards for newcomers. In comparison to The Chase Freedom card i would consider this a stepping stone. The Chase Freedom Card offers a lower APR and better rewards but to someone with more established credit. I would recommend this card to family and friends.

The Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers card is an OK card for those with little or no credit. The 24.99 APR might scare off those with average to fair credit, but it does come with a 1% cash back program to help offset that high interest rate, especially if you don’t carry a high monthly balance. This is the niche that the card has in the market, as most people with little to no credit will not qualify for a card with a decent cash back rewards program. The 2% travel cash back is ok, but most people with poor to no credit aren’t doing much travel to make more

The Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers has some pros and cons. With an interest rate of almost 25%, it would not be a good option for those with a high credit score who can qualify for low interest cards. This Capital One card appears to be marketed at consumers with only fair credit ratings and a limited credit history. So it might be a viable option for younger consumers who have no credit history. On the pro side, the card does offer cash back rewards and no balance transfer fee.

I think the Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers is great for someone who has no credit to build their credit while earning rewards. Especially for someone who is a frequent traveler since they'd earn 2% on purchases that are travel related. Otherwise, it wouldn't be worth much as far as rewards. It's also great that the card has no annual fees.

I am a huge fan of the Capital One Cash Rewards card. While the interest rate is a little high compared to bank cards like Bank of America credit cards, it’s offset by the rewards. You can put all of your bills, groceries, and every other purchase on the card to earn cash back, and then pay it off each month. It’s also a great card for people who are rebuilding their credit like I am since they don’t have high credit standards. Capital One also gives checks which are convenient when you want to transfer a balance. I also like the many options for cashing out your rewards which more

It bums me out that this card is not offered anymore. It was one of my first credit cards, and now that my brothers are becoming of age to where they are starting to look for there first credit card, I wish I could refer them to this one! There is no annual fee, and it is not one of those secured cards where you have to put a deposit. The Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers really was a great card for those looking to establish credit. The rewards are kind of lackluster, and much better rewards can be found on cards, albeit cards that require a much higher more

The Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers card is just average. It's ok to get if you can't get access to one of the better ones. It has no annual fee and offers the standard 1% cash back reward. The 2% cash back on travel purchases isn't very appealing unless you happen to travel a lot. It actually feels like the card is designed to take advantage of people with the high 24.9% rate. The card that I prefer instead is the Chase Freedom card. It also has no annual fee and 1% cash back, but it has some better features. The bonus cash back is 5% in rotating categories more

The Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers is a great card for some people. If you're like me and made some mistakes in the past this is a great card for rebuilding your credit. It has a high interest rate at 25 percent put that is the cost of getting a card when you have bad credit. I had another card from Bank of America that was specifically for people with bad credit and it had an interest rate of 28 percent and a yearly fee. Compared to that the the Capital One card is a great card. The Capital One also has a great rewards program which is unique more

Offering a fairly standard 2% back on travel purchases and 1% back on all else, the place where the Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers Card shines is in its availability to people without much of a credit history. While helpful for building credit for those that really need it, the prohibitively high APR makes it a costly card to maintain any sort of balance on, though this is somewhat expected for a beginner's credit card. The lack of an annual fee makes it somewhat more attractive, and it's rare to find a rewards card available to new credit holders. On the whole it's a decent card.

One of the worst things about the Capital One Cash Rewards Cards for Newcomers is its interest rate. At 24.9%, this card is definitely not the one you would want to carry any sort of balance on. The penalty APR on this cards makes things even worst at nearly 30%. This card does have a great rewards program that doesn't put any sort of annual limit on the amount of rewards point that you earn. The travel purchase rewards on this card are some of the best in the industry, giving you 2% cash back on any travel purchases. Overall, if you can avoid carrying a balance, the Capital One more

The Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers is a great card for anyone heading into the credit card market. You get cash back, which is always a plus, and there is zero annual fee. The downside to this card is that you are learning the negative aspects of credit through the interest rate, which is at 24.9 percent. It is a better option than the Capital One QuicksilverOne Cash Rewards card, which has a $39 annual fee. While it does have less of an interest rate at 22.9 percent, I still think you're better off paying a little more interest and not worrying about any annual fees.

The Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers is a good credit card for people just starting out with their credit history. The no foreign transaction fee would be really great for anyone who likes to travel. It does not have the best features but at least it does have cash back. The one percent cash back is a good little bonus to have while building up credit. The bonus categories are at two percent. Though other credit cards offer three percent for bonus categories, I still think that two percent can add up. There is no special introductory rate for this credit card, so I would just pay off what more

If you're a new customer and are lucky enough to be able to skip the secured credit card level, this could be something good for you. As per the card's name, it's meant to earn cash back. This sounds good at first, but the drawback is the lack of bonus categories - it only features 2% on travel, so if you're staying put, this isn't for you. Something I recommend if you can get in on it would be Chase Freedom, which has rotating 5% categories on pretty common things like gas, groceries, or online shopping.

The Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers credit card is a good card for people who don't have much experience with credit cards, or with mediocre credit. This credit card is designed to help people build a credit history, while also earning some cash back on their purchases. You are able to get 2% cash back on travel purchases and 1% cash back on everything else. There are no annual fees, however, the 24.9% APR is a little too high for my liking. Overall, this credit card is pretty good if you are simply looking for something that will help build your credit and also give you some cash back on your purchases.

The Capital One Cash Rewards Card for Newcomers is a great card for people who have limited credit. It's features like no annual fee and cash back rewards on purchases make it rather desirable. However, I think the interest rate is rather high at 24.99%. There are other cards out there that offer lower interest rates even for those with less than perfect credit. For instance the NFL credit card has no annual fee and offers a rewards program based on points. Points can be redeemed for football merchandise or as cash back statement credits. It also offers interest rates from 14.99% to 22.99%. Overall, I think Capital One is more

The Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers is great if you are just that, a newcomer. The terms of the card's reward system are very basic. 2% back on travel, 1% on everything else. No annual fee either, and the same great reward options that Capital One is known for. The benefit of this card is the travel. With no foreign transaction fees you could really gain by using this card on any trip to another country. Some rewards are better than no rewards, and if you can get this card without having to resort to any of the secured credit cards out there you will be in good shape.

The Capital One Mastercard Rewards Credit Card is available to you if you want to build a credit history. If you have not had credit, this is a way to start. You get 1% cash back rewards, and if you are making a travel-related purchase, they will give you 2%. No annual fees, but the APR is might hefty at 29.4%. It is not a prepaid card, which means that there is no money needed as collateral. You do not get an immediate reply. For me, I would not choose this card. I do not like the 3% fee for ATM withdrawals or "cash advances", as they are also called; more

The Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers is exactly what it sounds, a card for those without much credit history. It's a very plain and basic card, with an average APR of 24.9%, but it seems to give you a nice rewards system for those new to credit cards. You get 1% cash back and 2% on travel. It automatically reports to the three major credit bureaus, which is great, and there are no real overwhelmingly negative features that I can see. Overall a good choice for those without much credit history, in order to build up a good credit score from scratch.

This Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers card can be a good card for people who are working to establish credit. The interest rate is pretty high, but with responsible use and paying it off every month, it can be a good option. The cash back rewards are a good incentive, again as long as the card holder doesn't abuse the card. For someone who is new to the US, it helps that there are no foreign transaction fees, since often they will still want to do transactions from their native country. In summary, this is a good card for a target market - people who are new, from other more

I have had a Capital One Reward card for a long time. I have loved that card since I got it. I originally got it when I was trying to rebuild my credit score and they were fair with the limit and the interest, I felt. There were times that it came in very handy and the easy to use website to make payments and check the balance is great! What made the card even better, was that I was able to get the cash rewards on the money I spent. Eventually the limit increased and the interest became more reasonable. I have never had a problem with it and more

There is a reason why I have this card. There a tiny amount of companies that will let someone have a credit card with very little credit score or a credit score at all, but this is one of them. I had the chance to build up my credit history with this card when I had a $250 limit. Although that does not seem like a lot, building up that amount of credit that I have is something I will never be able to pay back to them. They have pretty high interest rates, but since the limit is so low you don't really have to worry about paying off more

I've had this card for the past few years. It's the first card I've ever had and it's extremely useful as a student. Before this card, I had no credit history. I was so sure that I would be denied, but instead they gave me this card, no strings attached. Now, I use it for everything- on and off campus. From expensive coffee drinks to help me cram to the books I need to even pass, this card covers it all. And since I'm quick to pay it off, it helps build my meager credit score. I love this card.

I've had this credit card for about ten years now, and I have never had a problem. It's actually the only credit card I've ever had. I got it as my very first card, and used it to build up a credit history. It started out with a $200 limit, and now it has increased to several thousand as a result of good payment and money management habits. I especially like using the website for making my payments and checking over my transactions. It makes it really easy for me to stay on top of everything. Of course, the rewards are great too – it's nice to get a little more

This is a popular credit card for a reason. Very few card companies are willing to give people with a "fair" or no credit rating a chance. I got this card a few years ago with $300 limit, and have built up a history with them and the card now has a 2,500 limit. But in my opinion, the best thing about the card (other than the rewards) is the security. I have never had a problem with this card when travelling, and the one time my card was used fraudulently, they recognized it immediately, notified me and took care of everything. Very impressive. Another time, a company wasn’t giving more

This was my first card. I've been vigorously avoiding the credit scene since reaching adulthood, believing that if I didn't have the money for a purchase, I didn't need it. However, in the past few years my thinking on this subject changed. I does make a difference, shopping online feels much safer. A few years ago my debit card number was apparently stolen and used to make purchases on several sites online. Getting it corrected was a horror story. Last year, my Capital One card had the same issue. This time, however, I didn't discover it by looking over my statements, Capital One actually contacted me to let me know more

Like other people are saying, this was my first credit card. I gave them a shot because of the alluring title, good interest rate, and fair terms to someone looking to build up credit from scratch (I had zero credit before I opened up this card). For this reason, I have been able to build up my credit in a pretty painless way and not worry too badly about hidden fees and scary things that come along with credit cards sometimes. I would recommend this card to someone who is in the same position as me, looking to start their credit building with a good card with a good reputation more

I got this card roughly three years ago. The card was my first credit card. The process to get the card was very quick and simple. I got a form in the mail. I filled the form out and sent it back to Capital One. Within a few weeks I had the card in my hands. I never had a credit card so I kept it just to use in case of an emergency. After having a few emergencies in which I used the card and paid off the balance I decided to use the card more often and set up an online account with my card. On my online more

I have had the Capital One card for something like 10 years now. Twice my card had fraudulent charges on it. Both were caught right away and we were able to resolve the issue. I'm glad they were able to catch it right away but I was without my card for 2 weeks until they mailed me a new card. Several times my card was declined. When I would call Capital One they said it was because they put a hold on my card if I used it in a different city or bought something online. I can appreciate that but it seems silly when people were able to use more

I got this credit card when I had absolutely no credit. I thought that I would still be denied, but to my surprise I was approved. I still have this credit card and I still use it on an almost daily basis. The cash back is just a great incentive to get this card. It is a great way to save money. The APR is low for people that have little, or no, credit. The Capital One staff are always there to answer all of my questions. They are friendly and knowledgeable and are easy to understand when they explain things to me. Since I have got this credit card, more

This is a card for newcomers, and that was what I was when I got the piece of mail asking me if I wanted to apply for it. I did so, because though I generally do not like putting myself in any kind of debt, there was no reason not to give it a shot and try to construct a foundation for my credit. I use it smartly so that I do not get into trouble, and I make every effort to pay off my balance in full as soon as possible. I use the capitol one credit card and I really like it. It offers me several different offers that are quick and easy. I also like the text message alerts that it offers me. It is an easy way to keep track of my spending and works for my busy life. I had kind of bad credit for a time, and I needed to start taking steps towards improving it. I decided that getting an easy, basic card that I knew I would be able to pay off on time was the best way to start, and so I applied for a Capital One card, not knowing whether I would actually get it or not. I was genuinely surprised when I was actually approved.
What I probably appreciated most (especially since I am in no way financially/mathematically gifted and most credit card agreements sound like a foreign language to me) was how the Capital One people I talked to went to more

I have had my capital one card for about a year now. I didn't know if I would be approved or not because I don't have the very best credit. I called the 800 number to speak with a representative to see what was available. The associate that I spoke with was very friendly, informative, and patient with me. I decided to apply for a rewards card and was APPROVED! I have made sure to make all payments on time and have been rewarded with better credit!

I didn't exactly have any credit history, and I always had great experiences when using Capital One, so I figured I'd go ahead and try this one to help build some credit. The application process was swift, easy, and everything was explained to me very clearly. Ups, downs, fees, any limitations and all information was conveyed to me by my local Capital One branch, and they made -sure- that I understood everything about the card before my decision. I enjoy this card, I'm a new holder, but so far, it's been great. No problems whatsoever. The reward points are great, the online features are great. I highly, highly recommend this more

I applied for my Capital One Visa card about nine years ago and they were the first company that approved me for credit. During these nine years I have been very satisfied with the rewards program, the customer service, and the balance transfer offers which have really helped during the recent recession. I use my Capital One card for virtually all of my purchases and this helps me build reward points. Aside from that, my online account allows me to sort my purchases by category making it very easy to track my spending and make budgets for myself. Like most people these days, there was a time when my credit score wasn't just bad, it was absolutely terrible. I'd heard that to get it back up again the best thing to consider was getting a couple of the "entry level" cards like this one which (assuming you keep up the payments and use it sensibly) will get good reports sent to the credit bureaus. My credit wasn't totally basement level but wasn't high either but I did get accepted and had a good credit limit. There was no fee to pay to get it either. The Capital One Cash Rewards for Newcomers is easily the best card I’ve ever owned. It was the best one available for my decent but not fantastic credit score. The big plus for me is that there is no annual fee and for someone that wasn’t making much money starting out, that is huge. My main beginning use of this card was to simply build my credit up and earn rewards as I did so. That is exactly what happened. Capital One Cash Rewards was the first credit card I've ever owned (I know, I was late coming into the game). So while my experience with credit cards is very slim, I know that I'm satisfied with this one. I only use it for small items to help improve my credit, but I've never had any problems paying my bill, and I think the interest rate seems pretty fair in comparison with other cards (a little high, but I've kept it under control). I've noticed that their customer service is outsourced, but the representatives always seemed friendly and tried to be helpful, and didn't mind if I had to ask more

I have never had problems with my Capital One Credit cards. I wanted to start building my credit when I entered college. The only major problems I have had are with customer service and fees piling up when I spent too much money. I will admit that the customer service was pretty bad. The calls are outsourced to an Asian company, and I had a hard time communicating clearly during many service calls. And do not let fees pile up! No matter what card you use I am sure this is the case. :)

I received an offer in the mail on this card some time ago. I wasn't new to the US but they sent it to me anyway. I chose to take it as a back up because it didn’t have an annual fee and it would be good security to have another card in my wallet. The interest rate is high so I have to be careful with it, fees can really add up. The customer service is outsourced to India but they are ok.
