Capital One is the only Credit Card/Bank that offers no foreign transaction fees on all their cards. And allows up to 2% on all purchases for miles or 1.5% on all purchases for cash back with no annual fee. If you travel frequently this can saves you 5%. Other banks may be keeping current customers and making more from them with all the fees, but Capital One is acquiring more new customers. Who will benefit?
  • Card Hub:
Kevin - I could not agree more with you! Also a couple of months ago Discover followed on Capital One's footsteps and eliminated foreign transaction fees from all it's credit cards. However, Discover does is not as widely accepted internationally as Visa and MasterCard, which makes you think that they would had thought about eliminating foreign fees from their cards a little bit sooner... I guess better late than never.

I have to say that I am a big fan of the Capital One cash credit card, and it’s not just because of the $100 cash bonus it provides after you meet the very reachable threshold of $500 spent in the first three months. After having a number of points and miles cards over the years, the simplicity of a cash back card--especially one that doesn’t bother with tiered rewards or rotating spending categories—is always refreshing. And you’ve got to love the 50% rewards bonus this CapOne card gives you at your cardmember anniversary. When it shows up on your statement, it’ll be like Christmas! You gotta appreciate the little things in life, you know? And it is the little things that set this card apart from competition like the Bank of America Accelerated Rewards Card that only offers 1.25% across all purchases and has an initial bonus of only 75 bucks. Also unlike the BofA card, which offers 0% on purchases for 12 mo., the Capital One Cash provides 0% on BOTH purchases and balance transfers for 12 months. Not too shabby. And while one would have to believe there is a catch to this offer, the only thing I can think of at the moment is that if you close your card before your account membership anniversary, you don’t get the 50% rewards bonus, which would make this a rather pedestrian 1% cash back card.
