I have had the Capital One Platinum Card for a few years now. This card is great for a first credit card, as I was accepted without any substantial credit history. I started off with a credit limit of $500, and over the years I have been able to increase that to $4000. The APR on this card is high compared to other cards, so I don't usually carry a balance on it. The card also offers no rewards which is the main downside for me. The lack of rewards really stands out as a big negative when you compare it to a Citi Double Cash card or even to more

Having held this card for a few years, I don't have too many complaints. They have been very fair with my rates and payments. My only issue has been that it took about 4 months for them to decide on my payment date change. Otherwise, this is a very good, basic card.

Refused in critical situation to increase credit limit to cover expenses while my main credit card was in process of being replaced by my bank. Customer support puts you on hold forever for every little thing like online password reset. Cardboard treatment for platinum status!

I'm absolutely devoted to Capital One. They extended a credit card offer to me, when others wouldn't. I have rebuilt my credit portfolio and my credit score has increase over 100 points. I have never had one bad experience with customer service, they are always friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about their products. There are various interest rates depending on the credit card and most importantly, your credit worthiness. I started off with a higher interest rate on my a platinum card, but a low interest rate for my Venture one card. I have gotten CLI on all of my cards when ever I have submitted a request. I pay more

I have been a Capital One card holder for years. Many have had plenty bad to say about Capital One, but I have nothing but good experiences with them. The customer service has always been great. In fact I contacted them today, they were very helpful to my situation and understanding.

The Capital One Platinum credit card has a really low annual fee for a Platinum card, but there are no rewards of any kind associated with the card. That is is a big negative for me especially when there are so many other cards out there offering as much as 2% back. I like that there are no foreign transaction fees because I travel out of the country frequently. Although I don't normally carry a balance on my cards, the APR is extremely high, even for a credit card! I would not recommend this card.

I have always had the best service with Capital One. Someone used my card fraudulently and not only did they alert me that the charges seemed weird but it only took one phone call to take care of it. They also offer a reduced rate for military of 4% while overseas. I have always had great customer service when needing to contact them for anything. I would recommend this card.

This platinum card looks like a pretty standard offering from Capital One. The interest rate being above 24% would deter me from carrying any kind of balance on this account. However, the fact that is does not offer rewards is the main downside for me. I prefer cards that offer cash-back as well as addition perks like no foreign transaction fees or concierge service. For someone looking to establish or repair their credit, this card may be an acceptable option.

I have gotten this credit card when I first came to America to build a credit report. The card was super easy to get. I have never had problems with this company. In fact, I enjoy working with Capital One. What's really cool is, once your first card expires, you can order a new one with any picture you want on it! The APR is kind of high, but, it's because you don't have a credit history yet. They report super quickly. Every month. If you get this card, you'll get a credit score fast! It'll help you out a lot! I really suggest it if you have no credit more

I have been a card member since 2006 until current. Got approved after buying my first house. My credit limit was $750 at the time. It's great to be able to withdraw cash at a low rate if I need too. The annual fee is reasonable and is taken out of your credit limit. Since, I have fallen on hard times and this credit card company worked with me to get my credit card current and in good standing. My card was two months behind at the time and the late fees were reasonable. The best thing about this credit card company is that after bringing my card back current more

I first signed up for this credit card when I had just turned 18. It was my first credit card and was going to help me with my credit score. My credit limit on it was $300 to begin with and in only a year it was raised to $500. I have not had to deal with any yearly fees and I always pay my bills on time so the APR is not a problem along with the late fees. I have had to talk with customer service a couple times due to forgetting my password and every single time I have had a great experience with customer service representatives: more

The Capital One Platinum Card was my first credit card. I applied for it when I started college, when I had no credit history, and I think my starting credit limit was $500. That was over 10 years ago, and now my credit limit on this card is $3000. The APR is fairly high, but it's not an issue for me because I've always paid the balance on time. This page says that there is an annual fee of $19, but I've never had to pay an annual fee. Maybe this was added after I started using the card. This is a no-frills card with no rewards or cash back.

My Capital One Platinum card has sort of been a starter card for me, I applied and got approved for a $1500 credit limit. Over the last couple years the limit has gradually increased up to $3000, the percentage rate is somewhat high but does not really bother me due to the fact that I pay it off every month. I have enjoyed using the cashback feature to purchase gift cards to either purchase gift cards for restaurants around my area or get myself things from Amazon. I would definitely recommend this card for someone starting out with new credit.

The Capital One Platinum credit card is a great card with a good balance to help you restore your line of credit and credit score. The Help Center was extremely friendly and helpful when I had to call to change my address on file. They boosted my credit limit within 6 months of paying on time. I could not ask for a better experience working with Capital One. Another added bonus is the website is very easy to use and is fast to load, making it easier to change any information or pay online.

Wonderful experience over the past half year with this card. Although there are no rewards with it, they have always reported accurately to the credit reporting agencies and the website is easy to use. I have always loved Capital One. Years ago I was between jobs and low on savings, I called them and we worked through it on my car payments. What else can you say, I am grateful! Their customer service on the Platinum card is wonderful as well. I've never had any issues when calling them up and they are very nice. They even boosted my credit limit an extra $2000 without me having to call them, more

If you have bad credit, the Capital One Platinum Credit Card is a decent card to get back on your feet. But if you have decent to good credit, you're better off with many other options. There are options that have rewards programs, no annual fee, and better APR. The Citi Double Cash card, for example, has all three of those benefits. If you're starting out or if you have bad credit, the Capital One Platinum Credit Card is an OK card to re-establish yourself, but otherwise you're leaving money on the table by paying an annual fee and not having a rewards program.

This card helps me achieve whatever I couldn't do with other bank cards. The capital one card is good for people with bad credit like me. I have bad credit and no other bank would let me apply a credit card. Also this card has a very fluent credit line which helps when you are making hefty purchases but don't have cash. Overall I love this card!

I applied for the capital one platinum and got a quick approval with a high balance. I was so excited the more I used the card because the company is always doing new things to make the service better. They have an amazing call line for basically any problem that I have. They also have a rewards incentive for good credit and this makes the consumer do better and really know where they stand with the service company. The interest is average compared to other cards and I would choose capital one over all the others out there.

The credit card was very easy to get the company got my payment which came from my bank information with no problems. Every thing was fine for the first month but when I tried to make a payment online the website would not except my bank information so I had to call the customer service and they excepted the payment. After couple of days I get the letter form my credit card company saying that my bank information was not exepted. So I had to call the customer services again and speak to the manage who told me I would have to go to the bank to get the authorization more

The Capital One Platinum Credit Card was not the best option for me as my credit was not all that bad. I already had a Visa through my credit union with an interest rate that was only 7.5%. What was I thinking!!! I went a little crazy over the holiday season with this card and paying it off took forever. I should have paid it off with my tax return but instead waited. I will never go through Capital One again. Their customer service also left much to be desired. I needed the card replaced early on and this process took over three weeks. The customer service representatives were extremely more

This was my second credit card. I had a low to average credit score at the time I applied. I did get it and with a decent limit, $2000. And after 6 months of on time payments, I received an automatic limit increase of $500. Thanks, Capital One.

I think that this is a great credit card. It works great for people with a low to average credit score. This card has great features like having a website to go to for information about your available credit or to make a payment. Also you will be able to check your credit rating through capitol one's website. This is a great card to rebuild credit. Also this I have never had any bad results when using customer service.

This was the first legitimate credit card I was approved for shortly after opening my first "secured" credit card to build some amount of credit. I'm pretty certain you do need SOME credit history, but my understanding is that this particular card is very easy to get. The interest rate is large, but not too bad for someone who is primarily interested in building their credit. The website is convenient enough, and they gave a few different options for card design (if you're into that stuff). I called them once about a confusion with my balance and they seemed to have good customer service, the wait on the phone was more

Capital One Platinum card was the first card i've got (I didn't have a credit history yet). What's really good about it is easy refund process: once you report a fraud, it takes them 2-3 days to return money back on your account. Couple times I notices unauthorized transactions made with my CC from different countries I've never been before, so I've reported those transaction, my card was immediately disabled and money were returned back to my account in several days. Another nice option is putting custom image on your credit card - it makes the card so personalized. I also like how Capital One represent the break down by more

I have had my Capital One Platinum Credit Card for almost four years now. Capital One's customer service team has always treated me with respect and courtesy. I had to miss a payment once because of a situation that was out of my control, and their representative allowed me to make the payment late without any fees or issues simply because I had been making my payments regularly up until that. My only dislike is the interest rate, but what else can I expect while I'm building my credit? I'll continue to use Capital One for years to come.

When I received my monthly statement in September, I noticed that there were two charges made in Arizona at a Target store. I live in PA, and did not make these purchases. The one purchase was for around $25, and the other purchase was for over $275. I was frantic when I was these fraudulent purchases on my card, and I didn't know how hard it was going to be to have my account fixed. Luckily, when I called Capital One and told them about the fraudulent purchases, they told me not to worry, and took care of it immediately for me. They took all the information over the phone, more

I initially got this card to have some back up cash for emergencies, and also to use it to build my credit, I've only been a member for about 3 months but I can say the customer service is amazing. I have had to call them numerous times for disputes and refunds and they have always been 100% patient and professional. I remember I bought a baby shower gift that was about $100.00, but the company billed me twice for it, the capital one representative was nice enough to call the company, and verify that there was a duplicate charge, and she removed it on the spot (instead of me more

I have had this card for a number of years now and it's been great. While I don't get rewards like some other cards I do get low interest rates and am able to personalize the picture on my card, at the moment it has our family picture on it. I also enjoy the fact that I can make payments, view my balance, and just have an overall access to my account online or from my mobile device. This feature came in handy last year at the beach when I had to pay my bill while on vacation. I also like that there are no hidden fees like monthly fees more

This was my first credit card. I have a low credit limit, and the interest is not the lowest I can find. Keeping on to this card for several years has allowed me to grow my credit rating and history, however. I only ever had to pay interest a couple of times, once when I was low on cash and once when I forgot to pay it off before the due date. The card does not offer anything amazing, but you can use it as a great tool to build up your credit. Stick to this for a couple years if you're just starting out on your own or recovering more

With identity fraud running so rampant, it’s a great idea to have a credit card that has your image on it. It can be a little hard though when you give your credit card to your daughter or son and ask them to pay for a meal instead of going yourself. That’s just one little draw back, but that doesn’t even compare to how safe you will feel and protected you will feel when using your credit card. It also helps having your photo on your credit card when you go to stores that ask for identification when you want to use your credit card. Credit cards with your image more

With the Capital One® Platinum Credit Card it has a lot of benefits and cons. One of the biggest con I see is the annual fee of 19.00. Even though the first year is free and after that is 19.00. I know there are a lot of credit cards where they offer no annual fee at all. However I must say I have this credit card for a year now, I started with a 1000.00 limit and in 5 months after paying every month on time it jumped to 4500.00 so I am pretty happy with that. So the 19.00 annual fee for me now is not a big deal more

The Capital One Platinum Credit Card was the first credit card I was able to get approved for. My score was 580 at the time and no one else would approve me with me having to get a secured credit card. This card is really good for beginners to teach the ropes of having and using a credit card responsibly. My credit card limit was only $300 but I managed to never spend more than half. Mainly because of the very high fees that come with this card and is the only negative side about the card. If you are just starting out , I highly recommend getting this card more

This is a great card for first timers. Me and my wife have this credit card and we have been very happy with it. The limit on the card is low so that we can't get into too much overall trouble, and we have been making payments on time every time with no worries. With the low limits on the card when the interest rate kicks in we still don't have so much on our plate that we can't pay it off. This helps new credit card owners who want to learn how to be responsible with there credit after a bad history.

I've had this card for almost a year and half now and I've had no qualms about it the whole time. I mostly use it for when I make some out of town expenses because of work. With the interest rate of $19, it isn't that much compared to two of my other credit cards. My monthly payment is also very reasonable and I am able to pay it on time. I had a problem with it once regarding an identity theft and their customer service was very prompt in updating me about the transaction and was able to resolve the problem within a day. I liked this card initially. I always paid my balance on time and the interest rate was good because this was my first credit card. The actual card is very great especially for those trying to establish more credit history. The reason why my rating is 3 stars is because of the experience with capital one customer service. I understand the need to outsource some business but sometimes it is helpful when I am able to speak with a representative's native language is English. It makes handling problems a lot easier.

I have had my capital one platinum visa for almost 2 years now. It was my first credit card, and I could not be more pleased. With no annual fee, and low interest rates, it has made my experience as a card holder thoroughly enjoyable. After one year my credit limit was increased because I had just good standing my first year. That was a treat! Also, you can design your own card, using one of their designs or a picture of your own...for free! How awesome to have that personalization on something you use so often! Definitely happy with my choice of using capital one as my credit card!
