After damaging my credit I didn't think I would get another card but I got a Capital One Platinum card without having to secure it. They've been very good to work with. I have received several increases in my credit limit which has been great for vacations and purchasing online. I am able to do everything online such as checking my credit limit, paying my monthly bill online, reviewing recent transactions and scheduling a payment ahead of time. The only thing I don't like is they don't warn you when your yearly fee is going to come out. That made me go over my limit once but other than that everything has been fine. I love my Capital One card and used it today to buy some coffee online!

This was my very first credit card, and I'm still using it. I had a hard time getting accepted for a credit card because I had no credit history whatsoever--I had always paid for everything with debit. So I was delighted when I finally got accepted! It's a very simple, basic card. No frills, but that also means no annual fee. In my two years of using this card, I have built up a fantastic credit score. It's really easy to pay off my balance online at Capital One. Payments are posted fairly quickly and I've never had an issue getting a payment to go through. Really, the whole experience has been about as simple as it could get. I would recommend this card to first-time credit card users, and to anyone else looking to build up their credit score. Great little card!

This Capital One card has been great to me for over two years now. At the time it was the only card I was approved for that wasn’t secured by a deposit. Since opening the account my credit line has been increased twice, which was a great feeling after years of credit problems. I also have nothing but great things to say about their website and mobile apps. Everything you want, from paying your bill to generating past statements is available online, and also through your smart phone while you are on the go. They have also recently started a new deals feature which is another great perk. Each week you receive an email with local merchants that are currently offering deals. Use your card at that merchant and Capital One will put a credit on your account for the amount the deal was worth. If you are looking for a card to help rebuild your credit and the service of a large bank then this Capital One Mastercard is for you.

I applied for and received this credit card, and overall I am very very happy with my decision. I wanted something with a very low fee structure, and something that I could just have in case of an emergency. This card has worked out GREAT! Now, there may be problems if you're going to be using your cards to actually rack up a load of debt, as this card is easy to obtain and your limits start out fairly low. But if you use it responsibly and pay it off promptly, you'll be very happy with the service that you get from it. Every time I had a problem or concern about my card, their customer service was quick to address my issue, and it was always resolved in a satisfactory manner. As always, you should VERY CAREFULLY take into account all of the pros and cons when deciding to get a credit card. But I would recommend taking a look at this one, especially if you're only wanting a card for occasional use.

I understand that people with limited credit don’t have many options in terms of what credit cards they can get, but that doesn’t mean you should just settle for whatever you come across last like a drunken frat guy at Sharkey’s. So while the Capital One Platinum Card might be one of only a few cards that you can qualify for, you should still evaluate it and do a little comparison with other cards. Here’s what I would say the pros and cons are for the Capital One Platinum Credit Card: Pros - No annual fee in the first year means you can build credit for free using the Platinum Cap One Card. Since you can usually see pretty decent credit score gains in a year, you might even be off to a better off before you’re on the hook for the $19 fee in the second year. Cons - I guess the fact that the Cap One Platinum Card only has one pro has to be a con. - You’d also like to see at least some rewards. - Either that or low introductory interest rates. Ultimately the Platinum Credit Card from Capital One is an ok option for people fairly new to credit as minimizing the cost of credit building is your top priority and the Platinum Card does that well. However, if you can find a similarly cheap card with good rewards, I’d go with that instead. (Ideally, yoi should be paying your bills in full).

Looks like Capital One went platinum. No, it didn’t make an album that sold a million units or a single that sold two, but rather they offer a card called the Capital One Platinum Credit Card. The question therefore is, is this Platinum Credit Card a hit or a flop? In evaluating this, let’s keep in mind that the card is targeted to people with fair or limited credit, which means it won’t have the best rates or rewards and low costs are what you should be looking for in order to build credit cost effectively. So without further ado, the Cap One Platinum Card does not have an annual fee in the first year and only a $19 annual fee thereafter. This is important because credit score gains are usually seen within about a year of responsible use, so the Platinum Card could very well be a free credit building vehicle. Unfortunately, this card does not offer rewards or 0% introductory rates, which means the only people who it would really suit are those who wish to take advantage of the fact that credit cards send information to the credit bureaus whether you use them to make purchases or not. People with limited credit who want to build credit while making purchases or who need to save money on interest, as caused by current or future balances, need some alternatives to the Platinum Credit Card from Capital One. As far as rewards go, the Capital One No Hassle Cash Rewards and Cash Rewards for Newcomers are the best options. Both offer 2% cash back on specific spending categories and 1% cash back on everything else. When it comes to 0% rates, both the No Hassle Cash Rewards Card and the Capital One Classic Platinum Card offer 0% on purchases for 8 months. Any of these cards would be more suitable than the Capital One Platinum Credit Card. In case you’re wondering, Ive mentioned so many Capital One credit cards here because they are one of the most active major issuers in the below-average credit score spaces (most other issuers deal almost exclusively with people who have good or excellent credit scores).
