The choice you have to make when visiting a page like this is whether or not you want to apply for the Choice Credit Card - a credit card affiliated with Choice Hotels International. My initial guess is that you’d only want to decide in the affirmative if you’re a loyal Chose patron, staying in a Choice Hotel (Quality Inn, Comfort Inn & Comfort Suites, Clarion, Econolodge, Rodeway Inn, etc.) for tens of nights each year. If you don’t, the points you get wouldn’t be worth all that much and could be devalued if Barclays (the company that issues the Choice Card) decides to up the number of points you need for free nights, etc. But then again, if the card has an initial offer good for a bunch of free nights and you travel and stay in hotels fairly regularly, then applying for the Choice Hotels Credit Card might be a good idea. You do get two free nights with the Choice Card (8,000 bonus points when you make a purchase or transfer a balance, 8,000 when you pay for your first Choice hotel stay). The particulars of the offers mean its really like one free night plus a buy one get one free, so it’s not the best initial bonus in the world. You get 50,000 bonus points after first use with the Marriott Hotel, for example, which translates to 1-6 free nights, depending on the category of the hotel you plan to stay free nights at. The Choice Credit Card also offers 15 points for every dollar you spend at Choice Hotels, 5 on Choice Gift Cards and other Choice goods, and 2 on everything else. This type of ongoing rewards would really only be good for Choice Hotel frequent guests though. If you’re such a person, by all means get the Choice Credit Card because it offers you a way to save on a common expense. If not, get a card like the Venture from Capital One because it offers basically 2% on travel or the Amex Blue Cash Everyday card, which offers 3% on groceries, 2% on gas and department stores and 1% everything else.
