This credit card works like every typical credit card. It does has it advantages and disadvantages. One of the plus side is that it is accepted in almost any place you go or you want to use it. One of the disadvantages is the high rates and the late fees. You have to make sure that you pay on time and this goes to every credit card holder. The experience overall was good and I will recommend this credit card. Is an excellent way to start building up your credit and create a history of good credit. Customer service is average but you know that in most credit card or bank company customer service is not always the best.

We use our Citibank Platinum Select credit card for all of our purchases. We have good credit, and our Standard Purchase APR is 8.740% as of our last statement. By paying off our credit card and using it carefully, that is, we don't buy everything we want on credit but only buy our higher priced items and necessities on our card. I have not used the rewards features because I do not want to be tempted any more than I am about making purchases. Paying our bills on-line is a great feature and keeping up with our payments is easy. Citibank also sends out reminders if you would like them. We make it a habit to check our accounts at least twice monthly. The account is secure, and it's great to know that it's possible to freeze the credit card in case of financial hardship. We'll stay with Citibank. I did my research before obtaining the credit line and Citibank was the best credit card option for us.

Unfortunately, I have never found the rewards program to be useful. But I have had this card for five years, and I have never had a major problem. The interest rate is high, but every card out there had a criminal interest rate, so that doesn't really change my opinion of the card. Also, a few months ago, my laptop was stolen and fraudulent charges were made to my account. The customer service reps whom I spoke to were exceptionally helpful, the charges were reversed right away, and they did follow up with some outside agencies to make certain that the old card would not be used again and it would not impact my credit score. That situation alone makes me happy to remain a customer. They have also called me with a reminder to pay my balance on the rare occasion that I am late, and they have always cancelled the late fee for me.

Beyond my credit union credit card, this was the first credit card that I signed up for. My experience with this card has been fairly ordinary and comparable to your typical rewards card, but the one noteworthy feature that I have loved is the virtual credit card number feature. This feature allows you to generate temporary credit card numbers for use with web sites and/or merchants that you may not necessarily trust your permanent credit card number too. This feature is easy to use, free and is very secure in comparison to the traditional payment methods. I recommend this card for that feature alone.

I applied for and received this card back in 2004, when I was 19 years old and looking to add a quality credit card to my wallet. Back then, I chose the card because of its generous benefits: 5% cash back on gas, groceries, and if I remember correct, drugstores. For everything else, they gave 1% cash back. A few years ago, they changed the rewards program. Now, 5% cash back is given on revolving categories that alternate on a quarterly basis. The 1% has remained the same. I have no complaints about the card: the customer service is great and there is no annual fee. Once, I missed a payment by only one day. After contacting customer service, they canceled the late fee and did not leave a negative report on my credit report. The interest rate is rather high, but I recommend this credit card for anyone looking for a card with solid benefits.

The rewards on this card are phenomenal and I've never come across a better card in my life. Every month the rewards seem to be tailor-made for my spending, and it shows when I trade my points each time. The interest rate is awesome, the card is accepted everywhere and is never a problem, and there are many other special offers too. Whenever I've had to contact customer service, their personnel is professional and friendly every time. Their website is easy to use and tracking your spending is extremely simple. I highly recommend this card to everyone and especially those looking for great cash back.

This was my 2nd Credit Card and I've had it since I was 22. I absolutely love it. I've never had a problem with the billing or payments. It's super convenient and easy to use. I think I will probably have this card for many more years to come. The credit limit is perfect to my standards. I love the Rewards that I have received and perks and benefits with using my card. I told myself I was going to only use it for emergencies but after I realized that it is super convenient to be able to pay the bill I am now using it for things to get rewards. The customer service is great because they say your name as if they have known you or have spoken with you before. The one thing I didn't like was that I tried to change my credit limit but the process took a little long. But it was worth it. Thanks

This is a great card to use if you can make all your purchases each month on it and then pay them all off when the bill comes due. If you just use the card occasionally, the whole cash back angle is pretty insignificant. One of the good things that Citi seems to do in my experience is up the limit as long as you're using the card a lot. I got this card because I needed to buy a refrigerator and due to the price of the appliance, I got to take advantage of their introductory deal on the card where if you make a big purchase within a few months of opening the card, they give you a giant bonus. Even if you have the money on hand to make the large purchase anyway, it's worth it to use the card to buy the item because you get a hundred dollar bonus after the intro period is over. Outside of the cash-back angle, it's a pretty standard credit card. If you're looking for a backup card that might sit in your wallet, unused for years and is just for emergencies, this probably isn't the card to go for. But otherwise, seeing the cash back you get over time is fun.

I’ve had my Citibank card for almost 1 year now. We initially opened the account to take advantage of an 18 month interest free period. We made some major purchases on the card in order to make improvements to our home. The card is accepted everywhere, and the online account system is navigation friendly and easy to use. All in all, I’ve been quite happy with this card. Account representatives have been friendly and easy to deal with. I anticipate keeping this card open, even after the balance transfer period expires. We were given a very fair interest rate, and that is the primary reason that we will stay with this card.

I've had my Citi Dividend Platinum Select Credit Card for 5 years now and I can say this is my favorite credit card that I own. I love the low interest, the excellent customer service and the generous cashback. I find myself earning cashback twice a year ($100), just for using my card. And my interest rate has dropped from 11.24% to 5.99%, which is very low. Customer service always wants to help in any situation possible. They have helped me win disputes, gave me extra time to pay and gave me courtesy credits for being a valued member. Now that's what I call customer service. The online interface is easy to use, as is the Citi app I downloaded. I pay all of my payments & check my balances via the app and online. Combine all of this with no annual fee and you have the perfect credit card.

The Citi® Dividend Platinum Select® Visa® Card is quite amazing. I had to call to apply for this card, and when I was approved the helpful customer service agent rewarded me with a sincere “Congratulations!”. The card holder receives a portion of cash back for each time the card is used, and the cash back amount needs to reach $50 at the statement time in order for a check to be issued. However, the card owner must submit a request for the check to be sent. Additionally, the minimum monthly payment can be as low as $20, so with both the cash back option and a cheap minimum monthly payment this card is an ideal option for consumers on tight budgets.

I applied for this card a little over a year ago. I really wanted a card that offered the benefit of 0% interest on balance transfers. Once I received this card, I transferred a $1,000 balance and was able to save a lot of money on interest payments. It was a lifesaver. I was able to have a better handle on my debt and now I have paid it off. It was nice to have this credit card as a backup, too. I thought the online site was very convenient and user friendly. Anytime I had a question, I received a prompt answer. That makes it a lot easier for me to manage my money and not waste my time. I recommend this card.

I've been using this card for over 5 years now and I love the rewards it brings. I have redeemed the rewards of my card several times now and have never run into problems. Citibank provides excellent service as I have had my card stolen before. All charges were taken off and I was issues a new card immediately. This credit card is my card of choice with no annual fees and provides an easy way of keeping track of purchases and rewards. While most cards limit qualifying purchases towards rewards, this card offers a reward towards every dollar you spend. Overall it is a very great card and I will continue to stick with it.

I recently got this card and I love it. The online tracking is phenomenal. Also this is one of the few cards that has a rewards program that you can accumulate money on pretty quickly. I also got a special cash back bonus for spending a certain amount within three months which was very nice. This is also one of the cards where the interest rates were not extraordinarily high so that was nice change from seeing all the high interest rates on comparable cards. Also the reward program is nice as the rewards are not restricted to any categories but is a flat rate of 1 percent. All in all I would recommend this card highly.

I love this card! First off, the sign-up bonus is great. Spending $500 in the first three months of having the card is no problem, and Citibank gave me $100 in rewards for doing so. I love the consistent rewards rates on purchases I make regularly. The card carries no annual fee, which is also nice. It's very easy to keep track of my rewards through the company's website. The high interest rate is to be expected with a card like this, but paying the balance every month keeps those interest charges away. All in all, this is a handy card to have on hand if you want an above-average, simple-to-use rewards for everyday purchases.

I've had this credit card for something like eight years-- it was my first card. It’s still the only card I use because I don’t spend enough to rack up points with other cards, and this one is fee-free. I like that I get cash back from the purchases I do make, and all I have to do is call to get my check—very easy. I do wish I could have a check sent to me by accessing my account online, and I’ve tried that, but it doesn’t seem to work. Still, I haven’t had any problems with my card, and they’ve notified me several times when a big purchase was made or I was out of the country.

This Citibank card is pretty useful. It is generic, but in a good way. Most credit cards have some sort of rewards plan built into them, and they usually equate to about a cent earned per dollar spent. The problem with most credit cards is that these earnings are restricted in that you can only spend some on certain goods, like airfare or certain vendors. I was attracted to this Citibank card because it simply gives you cash at the same rate (1 cent per dollar spent). They don’t subtract any fees from that amount, and it ends up being a pretty good deal.

I recently got this Citi Dividend card to transfer the very last of my debt from a high interest credit card. I was very quickly approved and the whole application process was easy and straightforward. Because I just got this card, I haven't yet had a chance to use their rewards. But I am excited that if I make $500 in purchases in the first 3 months, I get $100 dollars back. That's a pretty good excuse to spend with this card. I've heard a lot of good things about Citi over the years and am now very excited to have a card with them.

This card is great. I have always had a Citibank card, but I think I like this one the best because it was the first card I have had that offered a reward for spending money I was already going to spend. They actually gave me the $100 pretty quickly. I would assume that it would not come until after the 3 month period. I got it after a month. I also love the customer service I have with Citibank. They are always so polite and professional. I never have to ask a question more than once, which is nice. This is probably the best card and company out there. My mother even switched and she loves it too. Great company, great card, great service.

I've been a Citibank customer for about a year now. So far my experience with Platinum Select Visa has been pretty good. I got an extra cash back bonus for spending a certain amount within 3 months of having the card, which was nice, because I was going to make those purchases regardless, so getting some cash back was icing on the cake. There's no annual fee, which is an absolute necessity for me nowadays. The cash back rewards are pretty standard: 5% on rotating categories (changes quarterly) and 1% on all other purchases. There are several other cards that offer the same type of cash back bonus reward system, so between the Citibank Platinum and my other cash rewards cards, I'm usually able to get 5% back on whatever I need to buy.

I have this credit card and it's really reliable. Citibank is a really trustworthy company. I haven't had any problems with this or any of the other cards I have with them. Customer service is second to none. Usually I hate calling companies because you never know when you are going to get the chance to hang up. They are not pushy at all and listen. I have had no problems with identity theft or anything like that. I think this is a great choice for your first ever credit card. The only thing I don't like about it is the Rewards Program, which is pretty useless. Otherwise, I highly recommend the card.

I have had this card for over 6 years now. I was very disappointed when my APR was increased without having a late payment or defaulting in any other way. I am someone that is currently working to pay off their debt and this is the first place I have to address as it is now the loan with the highest interest rate. I also really dislike that half the time I've had to speak with customer service they are always trying to up-sell me something (eg. identity theft protection). Usually when I call I am on a mission but I am friendly to a fault, so I usually end up on the phone forever.

My parents signed me up for this card about a year ago: I needed to actually borrow some money, since my credit score was non-existent before, and things like not having a credit score come up as red flags on background checks for interviews and such. Well I've used it a bit, always paying it off in full each month, and my credit score is in the 800s! I would highly recommend this card, it has proven invaluable in emergencies like when I was overseas and needed money for a place to stay. It charged a little extra of course for being used outside the US, but that's to be expected! I also liked the extra $100 you get at the beginning. Just the icing on the cake!
August 22, 2012 at 04:31pm
I've used this card since 2004 when it was a mastercard but its pretty much the same. I have no trouble with it thus far (knock on wood). I have had to call customer service couple of times but it was all good experiences with them. They work hard to resolve your issues. If their are any charge-backs, all you have to do is file the claim and it is taken care of. Very simple and effective. I have used this card overseas and while there is a 3% fee, again it poses no problem. I just call customer service and tell them that I will be traveling and they denote that on my account. This is the only card that I've used and in effect I have a very high credit rating due to that. I highly recommend this card.

This Citi Dividend Platinum Select Visa Card was a great choice in deferring incurred interest for 12 months. I took out a credit line of 2500$, and the minimum payments were very reasonable! I would recommend this card to anyone who is looking for a quick line of credit without the interest for a year. This card is a great way to earn good credit as long as you use it correctly. I gave this card five stars because by credit went from 780 to 830 which is excellent credit. If you can manage your money wisely I highly recommend this credit card!

I have had the Citi® Dividend Platinum Select® Visa® Card for about six years. I was very happy with their offers of 0% balance transfers and 1.99% balance transfer offers for many years. I did use this for some business transactions here and there. Once my balance got a bit high, they sent me a letter stating they were upping my interest rate to 29.99% from the current rate of 17.99% that I was paying. I was not happy that I pay on time, all the time, and never missed a payment, but yet I was punished for being a good customer. This is not the only Citi I have, and the others did the same as well within a few months. They should not punish us because of others not paying their balances off or on time.

I applied to get a Citi Dividend Platinum Select Visa Card to transfer a credit card balance. I was accepted and I was able to transfer a balance of $2000 for 0% for 12 months. That saved me a bunch of money at the time coming from a 14% interest credit card. Cash advance fee was 3% but still worth it. The transaction was simple and convenient. Purchase APR was also 0% for year, which then changed to 10.99%. Even though I feel that is a little high, I pay off my balance every month so it doesn’t matter. The rewards program is only ok for me. I don’t travel much so 5% back on airline and car rental purchases doesn’t help me much. However, I do get 1% cash back on most other purchases so that adds up to a nice payout at the end of the year. I highly recommend this card and have had no problems with Citi’s customer service.

I've had this card since 2006 and use it everywhere, even overseas occasionally. I like that it's Visa so is accepted pretty much everywhere. I like the rewards/cash back that I get when I use it and can rack up quite a few throughout the course of the year, enough to get some decent cash back to use for special occasions. I use my credit card whenever possible to help me get more cash back. I've never had a late fee and since there are no annual fees, it makes this card very affordable. Being able to check in on my account online is very helpful as well.

This was one of the credit cards I got after I got married. I started off at a medium-high credit limit but as I made my payments on time, my limit increased a lot. I like this card because it has many perks that come along with it. For example, they gave me 100 dollars cash back after 500 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. I earn 5 percent cash back on airline and car rental purchases. I like this benefit a lot because I travel around the country. They also gave me a full one percent cash back eligible purchases and cash advance. I think the interest fee is fair. They also offer $0 Liability on unauthorized purchases. So, I now use this as my everyday credit card. I think that this is a great card. I cant live without it.
July 20, 2012 at 07:17pm
I've had this credit card since 2005 if I remember correctly. I've had nothing but good experiences with it, although I have been lucky enough to avoid any issues like losing it or having unauthorized charges put on it, so I can't speak to those experiences personally. It had a 0% rate when I opened it, and often has 0% balance transfer options running. The normal % rate is alright, I believe mine is in the mid teens at the moment, it's not the card with the lowest rate I have but it's also not the highest rate. It has a rewards program, though I don't know too much about it as I don't use the card regularly. I keep and use it for emergencies, and I've never had any issues. I'd recommend it so long as you tend to be someone who pays off your balance every month unless you end up with a lower rate than I have.
