I’ll tell you one thing up front, I’d much rather go to Comerica Park than a Comerica Bank, but that doesn’t really have anything to do with the bank or its products. Speaking of which, why don’t we see how the Comerica Bank Visa Platinum Credit Card stacks up against some of the more well known names in the credit card industry? Starting with rewards…wait, the Comerica Visa Platinum Card doesn’t offer rewards (not the best first impression, huh), so let’s move onto rates. The Visa Platinum Card from Comerica Bank does offer 0% on purchases as well as balance transfers for 12 months, which is pretty good, but not great when you consider that 0% rates are available for as long as 18 months from Citi. In terms of fees, the Comerica Bank Platinum Card doesn’t have an annual fee, which means it’s an average offer instead of a bad one (there’s nothing that would warrant paying an annual fee). Nevertheless, it’s pretty clear that you could do better than the Comerica Bank Credit Card, so lets talk options. No, not whether Collin Balestar has any minor league options left (he’s on the Tigers who play in Comerica bank), but alternatives to the Comerica Bank Visa Platinum Card. If you want low introductory rates, the Citi Platinum Select and Diamond Preferred cards are good options. If you want rewards, some cards to consider are the Chase Sapphire Preferred, the Capital One Venture Card, and the Capital One Cash Credit Card. Anyway you go, you’ll be going somewhere better than the Comerica Bank Visa Platinum Credit Card.
