This might all seem like a lot, but is it really worth $300? I’d be inclined to say no. The highlight of the Continental Airlines Presidential Plus Credit Card is the United longue access, but if you’re going to travel enough to really make the most of lounge access, your miles will probably get you in anyway. And if you don’t travel frequently but like to do so in style, why not just purchase one-time access for $39? Even if you’re a frequent United flyer, I’d still vote no on the Continental Airlines Presidential Plus Credit Card this year because the Continental Airlines One Plus Credit Card provides the same 2 miles/$1 on United purchases as the Presidential Card as well as an attractive initial miles bonus and does not have an annual fee during the first year ($95 each year thereafter). Sure, you only get one checked bag for free with the One Plus card (as opposed to two with the Presidential), but I’m sure the $300 you save can comfortably cover that.
