CB2 Store Card's Additional Info
Deferred Interest Details: No interest if paid in full within 6 months on purchases of at least $749.
Deferred Interest Details: No interest if paid in full within 12 or 24 months on purchases of at least $1,499 or $2,999, respectively.
Only one right choice. The CB2 Credit Card lets you take your pick: rewards or a 0% introductory APR. Without even knowing what those rewards are, you can safely rule out the 0% financing option. For one thing, you won’t get that 0% rate unless you spend at least $749, and even then, it will last for just 6 months. Thus, you’d have to pay at least $125 per month to bring your balance to $0 within the allotted timeframe. And repaying your full balance on time is extremely important because the CB2 Card, like most other store cards with 0% intro rates, uses what’s known as deferred interest.
As a result, if you don’t repay your full balance by the 6-month mark, as the case may be, interest charges will be retroactively applied to your entire original purchase amount at the card’s regular rate – like the 0% rate was never in effect. The same thing can happen if you miss a monthly due date along the way. And since you should have little trouble finding a general-consumer credit card with 0% for at least six months and no deferred-interest clause, picking rewards over financing is always the way to go with the CB2 Credit Card.
Superb ongoing rewards. You will earn $20 in store credit for every $200 that you charge to the CB2 Store Card, which works out to 10% “cash” back. That’s double what most of the best store cards give you and nearly 10 times as much as you’d earn with the average cash back credit card. The only thing missing is a welcome present. In addition to about 5% back on all purchases, the best store cards offer 10%+ off your first purchase made the day of account opening.
Very high APR means you must pay in full. The CB2 Credit Card’s regular APR is quite lofty compared to pretty much any benchmark you can compare it to. Credit cards for people with fair credit charge 26.41% on average, for example, while store cards charge 30.16%, according to WalletHub’s latest Credit Card Landscape Report. That just goes to show why carrying a balance from month to month with the CB2 Card is a costly mistake.
No fee and fair credit are standard. Like nearly all other store cards, the CB2 Credit Card does not charge an annual fee and requires only fair credit for approval. So these features don’t set the CB2 Card apart from other stores’ plastic, but they definitely aren’t negatives, either. In fact, they solidify the card’s status as a must-have for any CB2 regular whose credit makes the grade. You can get a sense of whether you’re creditworthy enough by checking your latest credit score for free on WalletHub.

Rewards expire within 3 months and cannot be used partially. I had a $460 reward, spent $100 of it online only later to find out that the entire reward certificate was forfeited in that purchase and there’s nothing they can do about it. Not even refunding the purchase would get the rewards back. Customer service was passive aggressive about it. EDIT: see below reply. The credit card company resolved this issue after I filed a CFPB complaint.

I filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the company gave me back my unused reward certificate! They were very reasonable about it, and I was very pleased they did the right thing in the end. I think they’ve also made it a bit clearer in their app that you’ll lose your rewards if you don’t spend them all at the same time. They broke up my rewards into $100 and $40 increments, and I could select how many to apply at checkout.

Good card to use at Crate & Barrel, offers discounts that only cardholders get but no cash back outside of Crate & Barrel would be better if offered cash back, savings offered to card holders are very good

Low credit limit! Purchased a couch decided to get the credit card thinking it would be beneficial until you realize the credit limit is so low you might as well make your purchase in cash or any other ACTUAL credit card. We have 800+ credit, 360,000 avg income and we’re still only given $5,500. Well now our last items on back order are available which puts us over the $5,500 limit when it charged us the other half abs the whole order is on hold. We have been waiting for 5 months for our couches and can’t schedule delivery or unfreeze until our payment goes through to free up available credit. What a waste, would have paid cash or another card honestly.

BEWARE. This card is terrible. The customer service by synchrony bank is beyond awful. Super unhelpful and no communication between the bank and crate and barrel. They don’t explain the rewards system. We lost $180 in rewards because if you use partial rewards then you lose the remaining balance. Which is not normal and never explained to us.

Purchased 4 chairs on the C&B card. No issues getting approved, although credit limit was a bit low. Purchased chairs in January. Still haven’t received the chairs, and low and behold, my rewards (that I didn’t even know I had received because of all of the JUNK mail I get from C&B) are expired. So, took a hit on my credit, for a perk I wasn’t even able to use. And I had to cancel part of the order because a part of the chair I ordered is on backorder until July.

Even though we have great credit and plenty of annual income, the limit provided is so low that we can't actually use the card to buy what we need from the store. This is a joke! Why even bother having a credit card program if they make it so bad. Such an awful experience!

Unusable credit limit because it’s so low, despite income >300K and credit score above 800. Credit is not released for over a week after payment, making any large dollar purchases at C+B impossible. Use another rewards card for C+B and save your headaches for something worth it

Whatever you do, don't apply online. If you want to use this card for a large furniture purchase, apply in store. For some reason Synchrony bank treats online applications as higher risk than in-store applications. We were given a $2000 credit limit with credit scores over 800 after applying online. After inquiring in store, the representatives mentioned that a lot of customers had something similar happen when they applied online, however they did not see the same low limits being given when customers applied in store.
All is not lost even with a low limit, you can still make the large purchase on another card and transfer the purchase bit by bit to the CB card with the help of a store associate. One thing to note is that when you pay off the balance, they will hold your payment for over a week and not free up your credit if you are a brand new customer. So expect it to take 2 weeks per transfer. It takes 3 days for the charge to post, another 2 for your payment to "post" and another week for your available balance to reflect your payment. We'll get our points if it's the last thing we do. It's a huge pain though.
Apply in store or suffer our fate as well!

Don't believe the promotions. I got the credit card during a 20% promotion where you would get 20% in rewards dollars on that purchase. It has been 4 months and 4 calls to customer service later and still have not gotten my additional 10% (10% standard on the card & 10% for promotion). Customer service is no help and the will not let you talk to the rewards team as they are not apart of the bank that runs the credit card.

Rewards expire within 90 days, nobody tells you when you apply for the card they convince you to do it and as usual is written somewhere on those 'little' letters that nobody reads it... today im very disappointed, showed up to purchase a furniture with $260 in rewards, and guess what... expired 2 weeks ago! I would never ever recommend this credit card, better you use std 2-3% cash back than this one.
