When you sign up to receive your federal benefits on the Direct Express® card, you will receive your payment every month without having to worry about cashing your check or having it lost or stolen. Instead of receiving a check, your money will be automatically deposited to your Direct Express® card account on payment day.

The routing number for Direct Express is not publicly available. The Direct Express Debit Mastercard, issued by Comerica Bank, only accepts funds paid to you by the federal government, so a routing number is not necessary for use. The card can receive federal government benefits, such as Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and veterans' payments, electronically.
Even though you cannot receive or deposit money onto your Direct Express card, you can make purchases from merchants that accept debit card payments, withdraw cash from an ATM, bank or credit union with a MasterCard logo, and pay your bills online or over the phone.
Direct Express also allows you to make transfers to a personal bank account in the U.S. for a service fee of $1.50 per transaction. You can process the transfer via www.usdirectexpress.com, through the mobile app, or by calling customer service at 1-888-741-1115.
If you're looking to make online payments, you can do that with your Direct Express® Prepaid Debit Mastercard® only if they are processed as credit card transactions. That means you're asked for your card number, expiration date, etc.

Where do I start! As long as you have no issues, meaning your money is being deposited and you being able to spend it, the card it great!!!! My problem started when I decided to transfer funds to my savings account at a walk in bank. I've been sending the documents asked of me, 4 time or more. I started this process March 1st 2024. To date, nothing has been transferred. I was told to resend everything, BUT not until I called them to see why my funds were not yet transferred. I was told there was a notation made that my copies were blurred and to resend. Why couldn't they have immediately sent ME a email telling me!!! While I'm waiting the 5 to 7 business days for the transfer to take place, I could have resent the paperwork again a week ago. Well, today is April 17, 2024 and yesterday I was told to go to my bank, get them to type my banking information on their letterhead and EMAIL it to them! Why didn't they just have me do that on the first place? Well, now I'm waiting to pick up the letter from the bank. Hopefully when I email this to them, it will end this nightmare. It wasn't my initial thought to close the account, but I will be transferring every dollar and saying good riddance to Direct Express!!!! I will send a follow up as soon as I hope this issue is resolved.

I find Jack direct Express is very outstanding at time of need it has helped me establish a bank account if I had to go through it again I would do it the same all-white nothing different but I will handle my business in the same

They have to be the worst debit card ever when it comes to customer service. Someone used my card and I had to dispute the charges and order a new card. That was a week ago and I haven't heard anything from direct express. So I called them and found that it's completely impossible to talk to a live person. So I can't get an answer to a simple question or tell them I haven't gotten the paperwork they said was supposed to be turned in in 10 days. It's absolutely stupid.

I gave them a call about someone using my card and I was able to speak with a live representative. I have found that the only time I can speak to someone is during the night hours. This company is 24 hours. My advice is try them at night. Both times I got a real person and they helped me expeditiously!!!

Basic app! I wanted to go back a few months because I wanted records of my payments for my daughters braces. The app won’t let u go back that far. You have to go online. That defeats the purpose of having the app if I have to log in online. I didn’t want to change services because it can sometimes be a long hold for customer service because I can’t update my direct deposit on the SSA website. I think it’s gonna be worth me changing my direct deposit UNLESS, they’re gonna make this app more functional. The government partnered with DE, but they can do better and they should if this is an option you giving the people.

This Card is junk! It worthless for anything other than getting Cash or purchasing item with the card. I have not been able to get anywhere else with it.! Run! Run from the Direct Express Card! Find something else you'll be happy you did. ✌️

Using this card will make you crazy. It is very difficult to withdraw money from it. To this date after having the card about three months I have only been able to successfully got money from ATM only 4 times. The most common response is “the bank has declined this request.” While trying to transfer fund from the card to personal banking account is was charged the fees, but the funds were never sent. I’ve spent hours waiting on the phone waiting to speak. When I finally got a real human she couldn’t answer my question and promptly put me on hold again. This was what they called “Customer Service.” Please, Please save your sanity and reject Direct Express Card as your primary funding of your government benefits!

Leave it up to big brother to go with one of the shittiest prepaid cards I've came across. Unfortunately I was stuck having use just it, then I started to learn more bout other banks, prepaid cards, etc and I noticed that EVERY single one of them actually gave you your account and routing numbers on a piece of paper or in settings in the app. I HIGHLY SUGGEST NOT GETTING A DIRECT EXPRESS CARD!!!!

I called the number on the back of my old card, paid for the expedited service, should have gotten it on Tuesday (so I thought). But I didn't get it until Wednesday because it was later in the day when I called. The order was processed and sent through but not received in card replacement processing services until Monday morning.

I'm being robbed by direct express card this month. They suspended me for god knows what and don't want to answer the phone. I left my phone on all day with their repeated recording all day. Until 6pm eastern time.

I like that I get my money at midnight on the 1st of the month and early if 1st is on a Sunday. HOWEVER I cant use it to pay some of my bills like Car Insurance. But it will let me spend all the money I want in the Google Play store. It let me send cash thru cash app for months then this month it wont. Very aggravating.
