We no longer travel long distances as we used to, and the few ExxonMobil stations in our area are far and few between. So we had not used the card for a while. Now we found that the card account has been closed due to not being used. Really? That is not smart in so many ways! It could cause problems if someone traveled with only that card and became stranded if they depended on using only that card for gas, especially for emergency or unexpected travel. It could also adversely affect credit scores, which is especially concerning in these still recovering economic times. And if you really wanted to reinstate that card, while they only had to push a button to close your account, you have to complete the lengthy process to reopen that account. Huh? Bottom line is, beware the possible traps caused by this card's policies!

Had an account for over 10 years with no late payments, and recently my account was closed for being a bad risk. I don't understand, but it is what it is, I guess.

I've had this account for probably two decades. The volume of fraud happening on my cards has increased tenfold. The other day I got a fraud warning by text and I responded that I didn't recognize the charge. Today I was able to sit and call the number on the card to talk to someone about next steps to get the account back up and running. After finally getting past the automated system by yelling "operator" about fifteen times, and being transfered around to different people, they took my name and phone number and told me they would have to call me back! WTH!

I've been looking for a gas card and I found this. I applied and when I hit the send button I got a message saying they needed more information and supplied a phone number for me to call. I tried calling the number but all I get is a recording. I tried other Exxon phone numbers but they too all give recordings and nobody to talk to. This makes the second time I applied. I should be getting some kind of communication back but it seems hopeless. The AMEX blue is a better card.

I have had this card for six years and always paid on time even through covid. I had lost my job so some bills did suffer and I was a victim of identity theft. My credit score was low 600s. I got a letter in the mail saying they were closing my account when my card expired. I called and the account was already closed. Again, I always paid my account. Customer service was rude and said they would not keep my account open. I told them they needed to re-run my credit report due to identity theft some things had been removed and score was up. They don’t care about customers just that little credit score. I am very upset about this. I never made a late payment.

I made my monthly payments through out Covid & mostly made a payment over the minimun. After 5 years they closed my account without warning. Sent me a letter the day off closing my account stating a recent review of my credit made me uneligible but I just got approved for a credit increase with Capital One. Something is fishy...

I have been trying to speak with someone to ask questions about their gas card and after spending a whole day on it, calling fifteen different numbers I gave up. They all gave a recording and no one could help. Terrible. If this is how they treat you before you are a customer I'm not sure I want to do business switch them.

I've had an exxon/mobile gas card for years. I always pay in full. I did not receive an email about my May bill so I missed my first payment.. The fees were $27 for a $38 bill. I called customer service. They refused to waive the fee and their response to me cancelling my card was "If you cancel your account you can't reopen it."

I would give them a zero if I could. I had 3 heart operations and 7 hospitalizations in 12 months. I have terminal heart disease and there is nothing more that they can do. I will say that they did wipe out late fees twice as I explained I was in the hospital. However, I must have met my quota. I don't use the card much. I had a $20 charge in mid-July. When the August bill arrived, I was in the hospital. I live in a condo complex, and somehow, the Sept. bill never made it. I paid the bill in mid October.....$20, PLUS $63 in fines and penalties....ie over 300%. When I called and explained, they simply stated that I already had 2 wiped out, but they would not do a 3rd. Legal? Yes. However, I told them that the charges were unethical and immoral. They don't care.

Worst credit card ever! They neglected to update my bank account for autopay and attempted to retrieve the payment from the incorrect bank account, resulting in a late payment. Exxon made zero attempts to contact me via phone, email, or postal mail. After numerous phone calls, they still refuse to accept responsibility and to remove the late payment. Good customer for three years. Beware.
