No. The amount on your temporary card will automatically be transferred your permanent card when you activate it, and you will no longer be able to use the temporary card. Let us know if you have any other questions!

If you have a personalized card, you can withdraw up to $400 a day from an ATM. You can also withdraw up to $2,500 from a teller in a bank branch, though such withdrawals must be done in increments of $400 or less. Withdrawals at MoneyPass ATMs are free, but you will have to pay a $2.50 fee (plus applicable bank and ATM surcharges) for each withdrawal you make elsewhere. Best of luck!

Have to say that Green DOT has worked for me very well. I have little to no complaints. Now that you can deposit $ by taking a photo of youre work check by mobile phone, is great...! I have never paid the monthly fee as I am diligent in making the minimum requirements to get the fee waived.
Since my divorce and the drama with assets and monies beng held in real banks, this has allowed me to bank online and live normaly. Refunds only take a few days, which is standard for credit cards, and now that I can pay bills online through green dot, like child support, it really more

I get a automatic deposit to green dot debit card from SSI. I receive it on the. 1st. Every month. The month of February no deposit was made. On the 24th. of February I got my automatically deposit for March. I never got the deposit for February.It was for $889.49 I'm disabled. What I'm I going to do? Is Green dot steeling from the disable? They are stating that they have all ready for my deposit for February. I'm already sick. What am I too do??

My story is just the same as the rest. Waited to get my Tax refund direct deposited on 02-24-16 . Card was blocked same day. Its now 02-26-16. Yeah I know doesn't seem long but NOT when you didn't expect this to happen. Plus you have huge responsibilities because you have a child and unemployed due to a chronic illness. Which I expailned to Green Dot representatives. 5000$ Green dot Bank playing with an expect me to keep waiting. I mean where does it say in the policy to send identification in? Mines happen to me yesterday you guys need to call this number and press 4 and tell them cause soon as I did it they unblock me and I went to nearest bank and took my money out they allowed you take 1500$ out each bank you can only only take 3000$ out a day so I immediately took it out before it blocks me again so call it mow

TERRIBLE ONLINE SERVICE! I reset my password 3 times and overtime I tried to log back in, it said that my information did not match any on file. I would HIGHLY recommend the Vanilla Visa or any American Express gift cards. This is TERRIBLE for your company, Visa! AND your "mobile balance check" doesn't even work, either!

Greendot has worked for us so far.. But now i'm starting to see people getting there cards blocked over Irs Tax Returns ... It worries me now because in the morning i should have mine DD .. i pray to god my card does not get blocked for just having my income tax Return Dd on thsi card.. Other then that GreenDot has been great!!!

They don't let people know that they can't get another card if u don't use it all the time and the card has expired never sent a letter but just closed the accounts and now gotta fight for my money that is on the card. They also need to have a number to where he can call if your info is not longer valid with them. If you call and ask to speak to a supervisor you get told they can't unless u tell them and then you still don't get to talk to one. What kind of company does this shit. I will never get another GREEN DOT CARD more

They tell EVERYBODY that a supervisor isn't there. I serious doubt it but if it was then that's the problem. A center representative is not going to have all the answers. It seems to that none of them speak good english. A majority of these posts are the same complaint of stopping a card, unauthorized transaction. They obviously need to look deep into it. I read a few that had suspicious activity so they blocked it but 88 transactions to the same company for the same 3.99 didn't turn any lightbulb on in their head. As far a prepaid cards go Green Dot is the Lord of the Flies but in saying that they still have multiple issues. Issue#1 Customer service is lacking. it is not due to them being foreign it is due to them not having proper training or understanding of client issues. I have had them for 6 years with issues off and on but always and I mean they are always resolved. If you call customer service just ask for a Supervisor immediately. The reps are not versed in issue resolution and just go over the same script time and time again. Your issue cannot and will not be fixed by more

This is a HORRIBLE company to deal with! The customer "service" is NONEXISTENT! From the agents that refuse to provide a supervisor when requested and just hang up on the customer for NO reason to the supervisor (that I finally had 2 hours later) that can't think of anything out of the box for a situation that SHE admittedly has never encountered before!

BUYER BEWARE!!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!

So,I have been using my card since june 2014.No huge issues,couple refunds I felt took entirely too long to post but eventually did...that being said,I have paid 5.95 monthly fee for this card,,ok,of course I will have a monthly fee,this month with NO WARNING it jumps up to 7.95! That is totally unacceptable.The very least they could have done is send me a letter informing me of this so I had the option of cancelling.

We needed a bank account asap, but we are rural and wanted something that we didn't have to travel to use. This is a great card and I use it everywhere. It was easy to set up and is easy to use. I have had no problems with it and get occasional bonuses from my continual use of this card. Great card as is, no improvement needed.

I used to use the MoneyPak to send funds to my kids.
Went to do it again and found it is now a Visa card my kids have to buy and then they get charged monthly to use it. Big rip off. Do not buy this!!!

Green dot is pretty much exactly what you think it is, a debit card. I have no real complaints about it. It's safer than carrying cash as your PIN is needed for most transactions. You can check your balance online or by phone or at any ATM. All The online website is smooth and easy to use. I've never had to call customer service. Overall it's a great way to manage your money digitally.

I just had a charge on my green dot card that I didn't even do I did called the green dot company and they did solve the problem by sending me a new card and return my money but all that I have to say is if anything happens like this again I'm changing companies I don't need the stress it sucks now I have to wait 5-6 days for my money this is not cool at all now I do understand what people are saying about green dot..... smh.......

Oh it WILL happen again and it will continue to happen. Each time, it will increase, they will cancel the card and charge u for a new one. This company is shifty. I filed complaints with better business, consumer reports and the federal reserve

I recently purchased the Green Dot Gold Prepaid Visa Card. I bought two because I had a thousand dollars I wanted on a card that I could use online to make purchases. I had to buy two because their limit was five hundred dollars. It was very hard registering both cards. I had to call customer service and I was not to happy with their customer service. They did not want to register both cards to me. After a bit on the phone with customer service we finally got it straightened out. After that the card was easy to use. Beware!! Do not get any green dot cards. Especially green dot visa. I had over $100 on it from my from my weekly deposit from my employer. I went to swipe it to get food and it said its been blocked. I immediately call customer service and it told me there's been suspicious activity and to call back in 2 days. I called back in 2 days and it kept saying call back in 2 days. I hope you turned them in. I certainly did. I wonder they consider suspicious activity because mine had 260 transactions in 6 days. On one day there were 88 charges for 3.99. On the other days a majority was 3.99 and then 1.99, all to the same company. They just kept approving until there was a 271 negative balance. I found out when I tried to pay rent. I wish to express my thoughts and feelings on both the customer service and card quality. First, as a Corporate Pilot, travel extensively throughout the world and the Walmart Money Card has never had issues. Second, In fact, it is Customer Service that gives the card a poor reputation!! Third, I was double charged for a hotel consecutive days in which Customer Service ..call them "Brain Surgeons" were Unable to Cancel or reverse the Double Charge! In fact, these Brain Surgeons made me wait the allotted Pending number of days for the Charge be removed!! Apparently, Green Dot, does not have the ability or Brain Surgeon Capacity to Remove or more

If I could give you a big fat zero star I would! Understandable that you can't use the temporary card at an atm, I get that..... but why is it that somehow over $80 disappeared off my temporary card that I did not spend and have all my receipts to prove so... OUT OF AN ATM?!? I have called and your EXTREMELY rude, incompetent, non English speaking employees told me there was absolutely nothing they could do I must have forgot about pulling cash off!!! I hope you sent this to consumer affairs and the better business bureau. They are on top of it. Green dot actually responds to the posts on consumer affairs. The BBB got the complain done, sent to green dot and gave them a date it needed to fixed by. They responded fast.

My boyfriend purchased Green Dot Gold temporary card from 7-11. He put $130 on it. When I went to use it, it kept declining everywhere I tried to use it. I call the 800 numbers on the card and the receipt, it's asking for the card number and last four digits to my social security number. I don't have for this temporary card. I don't have another number. Every 800 number I call ask me for the same thing and then says goodbye and hangs up on me. I have not been able to get to a customer care representative to even get a replacement card that works.

they lie and say that our money is safe on the card. and then they let fraud charges go thru.. when i contacted them about it. they told me to wait two weeks and call them back if i want the fraud refunded. why sit around and wait to be ripped off???? DONT TRUST YOUR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY

Whatever your issue is with banks: I can assure you is NOTHING compared to the service of Greendot!! Their overall service is horrendous. The service agents do not help. Their policies are flawed and for all this you are charged!!! DO NOT RISK USING THIS AWFUL CARD for longer than a few days!

I bought the card from walmart and on the package it says you can withdraw cash from ATMs at no fee and once I activated the card in my account it says you can use this card on any ATM. I called the customer service they said we don't say that on the package. Terrible customer service, a lot of hidden fees. Waste of money to get this card.

Hidden fees, crapy customer service, no reimbursement, monthly charges even into negatives. Burn every dollar off and through in trash before the month is out. By a new one never reload.

I brought this card to use instead of my debit,or my-american express to limit what goes out of my pocket,used my social,and other information.I could never talk to a live person to fix problem.I will take this loss,and call it a lesson learned. I believe there should be an investigation of a scam by the the better business bureau,because if I spent about $40. how many other people spent more or less to have a working card to try to build their credit. Bought card used no problem but let it sit for three months and they burned me for having the card $5.95 a month until I went $11.90 in the negative. I dropped another $500 on it at Walmart and they charged $3.95 loading fee. When I checked my balance it said I had $488.10 so the card I thought I had money on cost me $15 plus to add money on. New card all day $3.95. You have to go online to read all the hidden stuff they don't advertise. Crappy customer service from out of country that tell you you should have checked before you agreed. You cannot use a prepaid card to build your credit because they don't report your usage/payments to any credit bureau. You have to get a Secured Card to do this. Big difference. Prepaid cards don't operate the same as Secured Credit cards. With a secured or unsecured card you are making payments monthly. This is how you build credit. Fingerhut is another good way to build creedit.

It is a scam. Packaging states it can be used at ATM's but once purchased & you can legally open package, the card states "NO CASH OR ATM ACCESS".

They don't even deserve one star, their bill pay is a scam. They tell you one date, when in fact they didn't even pay the bill. Their customer service kept me on hold for close to an hour, only stating there was nothing they could do. People try to do the right thing in getting the money to the utility providers, and they just don't even care. How does the story end? I end up getting my utilities shut off, and their response, "It take two business days to post." My advice? Don't waste your money. After reading some of these review, how can anyone even give them one star. more

I have a credit that was supposed to be posted back to the debit card and Green Dot is holding it. I will never buy another one of these cards again. They said that it takes 14 days for the credit to clear. Baloney!!!! I've yet to see the credit

Yes!!!! I am going thru the same thing right now with my walmart money card! I tried to get $100 out of an ATM on saturday 4/4/15 and the ATM only dispensed $20. They debited my account for the whole $100 but immediately issued a credit. The credit is finally showing online as my available balance but I can't use it. I called their so called customer service and they said it could take until the 15th to post. This is crap. It wasn't my fault and this is all the money I have until payday (the 15th, ironically). I have dealt with this card company for numerous years and I have so many different cards I can't get anymore;nor do I want any.This is the sorriest customer relations business that I have had dealings with in a long time.It is important for this company to receive their payments and money upon time rendered .But for us to receive money due to us from such reasons like a refund of our hard earned money already been paid to them we have to prove our purchase as well as wait weeks for our payment.BS u can take our cards and shove it I wont give anymore money to a lousy more
