  • Joe Weider:
As bad as the Indianapolis Colts were this past season, the team and the city have a lot going for them. I mean, the Combine is going on right now, they just hosted the Super Bowl, and a “once-in-a-generation” young quarterback is about to call Indy home. The only question I have: Is the Indianapolis Colts Extra Points Credit Card more akin to the 2-14 record or all the good stuff I just named? That’s a question any diehard Colts fan must answer and one the folks in Baltimore surely hope has a painful answer. Anyway, let’s get to what the Colts Credit Card has to offer. For starters, it’s requires at least good credit for approval, which means both that people with average or below average credit should not apply and that its rewards and/or rates had better be pretty darn good. Speaking of rewards, the Colts Extra Points Card gives you 20,000 points after your first purchase, 1% cash back on all purchases, and up to 20% off all purchases made through NFLShop.com. In terms of rates, the Colts Credit Card does not offer a low intro rate on purchases, but it does give you 0% on balance transfers for 15 months. Finally when it comes to fees, the Indianapolis Colts Credit Card does not have an annual fee. All this considered, is the Colts Credit Card a good pick, or the kind Curtis Painter throws? Unless you buy regularly buy A LOT at NFL Shop, it’s more like the latter. The Colts Card is decent, don’t get me wrong, but good/excellent credit is the big time and there are better offers out there. For example, the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card offers a $500 initial bonus. The Capital One Venture Card pretty much offers 2% cash back across all purchases as long as you redeem miles for travel (great for away games). Finally, there’s a Chase Slate Card and a Discover More Card that offer 0% on purchases and transfers for 15 months and do not have balance transfer fees, making them better than the Colts Card in the rates category as well.
