The JCPenney store card sounds like it is a pretty typical store card. Most cards offer a 0% interest promotion for new cardholders and a 0% percent interest on large ticket items. 1 point per dollar is pretty standard as well for store cards that offer points. A drawback from this is that the points expire at the end of the month, instead of 6 months or annually. No annual fees are pretty standard as well for a store card. All in all, it is a pretty decent card, with average offerings.

The JCPenney Store Card offers great perks! A 0% introductory rate on new purchases, reward points for purchases, $10.00 store credit for every $100.00 spent on qualifying purchases, even a gift on your birthday! No annual fees, great terms for a great store. Definitely a great deal!

This is a really neat card because think about the fact you are getting rewarded to shop at somewhere you already shop. It's like hey we are going to pay you to do something you are already doing! Talk about saving money when it is time to have to go buy the kids more school clothes. I also really love the coupons they send you , so the money that gets saved just keeps getting added up more and more the longer you keep using this card. It is nothing but win win !Every other card I have really does not reward you this way, at least not as JC more

The first time you use your JCP card, they give you 20% off your total purchase and thereafter any other purchases you make that day. They will periodically send you $10 off coupons which are nice, but the down side is, you have to use your card in order to get the $10 off. I wish you could have the card, get the coupons and use them with any purchase, cash or card.

The initial bonus discount is a nice feature of this JCPenney card, but after that the reward program pales in comparison to any other decent reward card (for example, a USAA platinum MasterCard). I would not recommend this card unless you shop at Penney’s multiple times a month.

I've always been a fan of JCPenney, and I was rather excited for this to be my first "store" card many, many years ago. Although it has gone through some changes, I've ultimately have used the great incentives offered for the card holders to get some really great deals. Interest rate is about what you would expect for a store card. My only complaint was that my account had fraudulent charges to it twice, but this may have been a system error. The first time it happened the customer service representative gave me all the information for the purchaser (address, telephone number, name, etc) when she really shouldn't have. This more

Penneys! I love this card and I'm happy to have it in my wallet. The JCP Store Card, or JC Penney Store Card as us older folks know it as, is very handy. Mostly for the discounts, I must admit. I purchase all of my work clothes here each season, so basically four major purchases each year. I pay it off before the next billing cycle and I'm good to go. Very convenient and since I like the clothes they offer, like Stafford, Levi's, etc...I appreciate it very much. Easy to manage with the online interface. And oh..did I mention the discounts!! Some very good deals will come your way more

I love this card! It is fantastic around the holidays because of the 20% discount that you can get off of your purchase when signing up. I have members of my family that shop at JC. I love that I can use this card at the Sephora inside of JC Penny, and that I can pay my bill at the counter, as well as all of the other methods of payments. The only thing that I dislike about the card is the 27% rate.

The JCPenney Store credit card offers many rewards and promotions especially if you do most of your clothing and apparel purchases there. The reward certificates are a nice perk and it gives you an incentive to buy. The rewards points are pretty standard but I don't like that they expire at the end of the month. My CitiBank Dividend card has similar rewards earnings but my points never expire, so I never feel rushed to use them. My father has had a JCPenney Store Card for over 10 years and they do value loyalty and give you extra perks. If you love to shop at JCPenney this card has a more

The JC Penny Store card is perfect for you to open up around the holidays. You get a great bonus of 20% off your purchase as well as a point for each dollar you spend. This will help you spend less around the holiday season and earn some great points. If you plan on paying your bill off every month then the terms are more than ideal for you. If you don't want to pay off all at once it still may be good if you want the points!

The JC Penney Store Card is pretty sweet. Considering I have 2 girls who all love to shop, lord help me. JC Penney always have great sales, and you get to earn points, towards future purchases. I do wish however there was more bonus options, like some of the other store cards i use. Because honestly it is a bummer when I lose my points each month, because if i don't shop much its hard to earn enough points to actually be worthwhile. Overall though I definitely have recommend it to the other parents from my children school as clothing is always coming up in conversation.

This credit card has helped me a lot. The fees are a bit high. Among the interests if not paid promptly and late payment fees I only deal with this JC Penney card for emergency purposes. It is great to have this card in a crisis. It is even better to pay the bill back if you can promptly. Having this credit card can be a big responsibility. Then there are JC Penney perks for those of us responsible enough to pay off our credit card debt in time. When you need clothing or other JC Penney accessories this card comes in handy.

My wife has a JC Penney's card but we rarely use it. One, we don't shop there as much as we did in the past and, two, the interest rate on this card is very high. Although they offer a generous 12 month intro period, it is hard to stomach a rate of 27%. The reward system is something that we have never taken advantage of either and being that points expire after each calendar month it makes a lot of sense. For someone that has kids they want to do some back to school shopping for or need to buy a large amount of clothing in the future, it more

I like that I can pay the bill at the counter right after I purchase something, so I basically get a percentage off for using the card and can just as easily pay it off same day. Sometimes there are really great finds at JC Penny’s too! I have found a lot of cute outfits there at great prices. I just wish that the stores were a little more organized. And I also wish that there was a store that was closer to where I live! My mom mainly uses it now because I moved and I live so far away from one. But she loves the savings that she more

If you love quality and top fashion brands you will love this low interest rate JC Penny credit card. During the first 12 months each cardholder is charged a 0% interest rate. Regarding customer service satisfaction I am extremely impressed with the knowledge and ability to treat customer with respect and answer questions efficiently regarding credit card transactions. This card is rated with 5 star after my review. I enjoy shopping and a ecstatic over the amount of satisfaction I receive from my card as well as wearing the top quality clothing, linens, and decorative items sold by JC Penny Stores. I am also pleased then I receive promotional e-mails, more

I like the JCPenny Store Card. I used to use this card quite often and you don't need the best credit to receive it. There is no annual fee like a lot of other store cards. Their initial bonus of up to 20%, is quite higher than most other store cards. Their reward point system is somewhat above average but there is a limit on how much you can earn and they expire at the end of every month. They have an intro interest rate of 0% for 12 months, but after that, it skyrockets to almost 27%. I think that is extremely high, especially compared to other store cards. more

I have had the JC Penny credit card for quite some time now. I use to be a frequent shopper, so having the card was nice. The APR is quite high though for a store credit card, so I always try not to charge more than what I want to pay monthly for their credit card. I have never had a problem to get a credit limit increase of need be, and sometimes they have increased it on their own and I just received a letter about it. I would like to receive more rewards though. They don't really send a lot of reward credits, and there point base for more

If you are a regular JCPenney shopper, then you should definitely own this card. Assuming that you purchase things regularly, you will find great deals through the use of this card. In an average purchase, using this card saves me about 20%. Additionally, sales exist specifically for cardholders. The biggest problem that I see with this card is the interest rate, roughly 25%. If you frequently use other store credit cards though, this interest rate should be old hat to you. Another potential downside (not for me, but I know it is for others) is the lack of a really good rewards program with this card. One exists, but it’s more

The thing about this card is that only those who are big customers of JcPenney should consider getting it. If you shop there often it provides lots of benefits. You are given special sales and exclusive deals and they are pretty generous about that. I can usually save 15-30% on average by using my card, and collecting points and redeeming them usually gets me a few free things every quarter. But if this is a one-time thing, even if you are spending a large amount, it just is not worth it. The APR is pretty high and I do not believe you can upgrade it to a general card instead more

This card seems like something only someone invested in JCPenny should honestly look into. Where it has standards, such as no annual fees the rest of it is less then mediocre. The starting rate is atrociously high and there is no intro incentive. The bulk of the card seems weighted towards its rewards, but even that is out preformed by almost any other card. While there are nice discounts, such as the intro discount, the rest is quite low when considering the fineprint on the card which says 'Points expire at the end of each calendar month.' which essentially means you need to spend a lot to gain a little. more

While there are some perks to the JC Penney reward card, such as the gift on your birthday and the $10 dollar reward for every $100 spent at JC Penney, there are also some drawbacks. The APR is incredibly high, so unless you intend to pay the card off each month it's a very costly card to hold a balance on. Also, the rewards rate of 1 point per $1 is low and offers no additional incentive to use the card at JC Penney itself (unlike, for example, the Amazon reward card which has 3 points per dollar spent at Amazon). It may be a decent card for building credit, more

I've had my JCPenney Store card for may years. It really comes in handy around Christmas. I just make sure to pay it off within a couple of months or else you will be paying a very high interest rate. A high interest rate is pretty standard for most store credit cards that I've come across in my 35 years. The nice perk about this card is that you get 20% off your first purchase and if you use it frequently you get reward points. Those can really add up and give you additional discounts. I don't have a very high limit and I'm not sure if that's standard as more

The JCPenney Store Card is a pretty good deal, especially if you make sure you pay it off at the end of each month to avoid finance charges. You'll receive up to 20% off your first purchase with the card, which in itself makes applying worthwhile – especially when making a large purchase. You will also earn points for every purchase you make, which can add up pretty quickly; especially if you're a frequent shopper. Also, you'll earn $10 back for every $100 you spend. That's 10% back right there. Not a bad deal at all, and not too difficult to qualify for either!

I received this card while making a large clothing purchase. They offered a good discount on the clothing I was buying so I agreed to sign up. The store people were very polite and I got to use my card that day. The discount applied properly and I was told I’d receive the card in the mail. The card came in, the bill came as expected and payment was easy to do online. It’s a good card if you go to JC Penney a lot as your spending adds up to discounts. The one point per dollar system stacks up well to other store cards and other credit card bonus more

This card appears to be a good choice for frequent JCPenney shoppers. I like the rewards program and the fact that you have the ability to save a lot of money every month. Compared to other store cards such as a Sears card, there's a lot more that you can gain from having this card. The only thing is the interest rate is a bit on the high side, but that's a good incentive to pay it off. Plus, realistically, people shouldn't really spend more than they can afford anyways, that's how bad debt occurs. I also think it's pretty cool how you get a birthday gift; I can't say more

This is a great card for anyone who frequently shops at JC Penney. The JC Penney Store Card is a way to save money on large purchases. It is also usually an easier and quicker shopping experience if you hold this store card. There is a practical bonus point system that I enjoy. For each dollar you spend, you earn one point. You also get 10% back. This is good compared to other store cards. The only things I don't like about this card are the late fees and the relatively short grace period. I would recommend this to people who shop at JCP a lot.

I really like the bonus points system for this card. You get 1 point for each dollar you spend, which is actually pretty good compared to a lot of store credit cards available on the market today. The discounts on purchases makes the JCPenney Store Card even better, especially if you regularly shop there. The interest rate is a bit high for a store card, but if you pay it off in full each month that isn't a problem. The maximum late fee being set at $35 and not a percentage is also pretty nice. Overall, I think this is a solid card and perfect for those that routinely make more

The JCPenny Store Card is a phenomenal store card compared to what else is out there. Most store cards give 5% tops, but JCPenny gives 10% back which is amazing. Cash Outs happen in the form of a gift card which you can only spend at their store, but the rewards you get are much higher than what you'd get with any other credit card out there. They also offer special financing on some items such as jewelry or mattresses for example, but not all items like clothing. If you shop at JCPenny this card is a no brainer. Plus, you'll save a ton of money just by shopping at JCPenny.

JCPenney Store Card is a high interest card in my opinion and I use it sparingly as I am enjoying the high interest rate offered with this card. One benefit of this card is that there is no annual fee associated with usage. Most other cards of this type usually have an annual fee. JCPenney Store Card does offer some value such as certain discounts on specific departments. This card also provides rewards on qualifying purchases that are to be redeemed toward future purchase. Overall I am satisfied with this card though I do not shop at JCPenney stores as often anymore.

I like that the JC Penney Store Card has no annual fee, and rewards are always nice. $10 for every $100 spent is a great deal, and I like having no redeem limit. It does have a high interest rate, though, at 26.99%, which is much higher than my US Bank Visa card. I wish there were information about checking your balance and paying your bill online. The late fees are also high, so be sure to pay your bill in full each month, so you don't waste the rewards that are the point of having the card in the first place. I'm not generally a fan of credit cards more

I love my JCP store card. I've had it for about 20 years. It really comes in handy for school clothes. I am able to go online, order clearance items and use my JCP store card. So convenient. There are many items at JCP that I can't find anywhere else. I get a lot of coupons in my email that are just for folks who use their JCP card when they order. You also get $10 off of anything if you spend $100 or more. So each month, I go online and pick out my $10 item and use my JCP store card.

I have had a JCPenney Store Card for about twenty years. I used to use the card all of the time. I bought clothes and gifts online and in their stores. I stopped using the card when the annual percentage rate went skyhigh. I have always paid my bill in full each month. I did not like the fact that they decided to up my APR for absolutely no reason. I still have the card, but I will not use it unless there is a very good reason to do it. They have lost one loyal customer and that is too bad because I always liked shopping at JCPenneys.

I love the JCPenny Store Card as it allowed me to get discounts on purchase I was going to make anyway. They have a deal where you get a $10 Coupon when you spend $100 at the store. It's basically 10% back which is much higher than any of the other credit cards that I have. Whenever I go to JCPenny I make sure to use my store card, it just make sense because the rewards are so high. They also has some really good bonus offers for signing up too, so if you have a big purchase you plan on making consider opening a new card with them at the same time.

The discount opportunities for the JCPenny Store Card are fantastic. Other cards from different stores such as the Kohl’s Card, or the Wal-Mart Card don't offer anywhere near that kind of discount. The ability to earn $30 each month is great too. It's like putting money in your pocket, which I'm sure we could all use once in a while. The APR seems a bit higher than other cards I have seen in the past but with the offers it makes it worth it. If you're going to just pay it off right away then the APR shouldn't be a big problem. The JCPenny store card has benefits that are far beyond what most store cards offer. I have other store cards such as Walmart and Gap cards, but neither stack up to JCPenny’s card. The 20% initial discount is twice what I get with Gap and it also has a reward system. The interest rate is a bit high though, but as long as you pay your balance off each month it wouldn’t matter. I would definitely recommend this card to a family member or friend who shops at JCPenny as it clearly has great benefits for those who don’t keep a balance on their cards.

I signed up for the JCPenney Store Card years ago back when I was trying to build up my credit. I honestly didn't think I would get approved but some how I did. It's a great card for what it is. It gives you cash back on purchases at JC Penny and sometimes they have promotions that give you a certain percentage off the purchase price of various things at JCPenny. The card helped build my credit and helped me get used to paying off a balance. It's a great card for that purpose, or if you just find yourself spending quite a bit at JCPenny.

We opened a joint account for our when she started college. This allowed her to establish credit and also to do some shopping online since the closest JC Penney to her school was 40 miles away, in Austin. Although we live in Austin, it was not always convenient for our daughter to drive in when she needed some clothing or a kitchen appliance. The only drawback to the card was the interest rate but, while it was rather high, we sat down and looked at that versus the drive in time and gas into Austin and decided to go ahead and get the card. I opened a JCPenney card several years ago in order to take advantage of the initial offer, which was a pretty big percentage off of the purchase I was making at the time. Since I was making a large purchase, the deal was pretty cool at the time. After that, however, my opinion of the card dropped off significantly. The rewards became smaller and less exciting, and the interest rate was very high. I didn't feel like I was getting any better benefit from the card than I would get from a broader-spectrum rewards card that offered rewards on a whole variety of different things.
