Highest interest rate of all credit cards I've applied for, I cancelled it. Discover has a low interest rate and you can use it every where and do balance transfers, not with JC card. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this card. If you're active duty military or Veteran I recommend the USAA VISA CARD no frills, low as 6.9 interest rate.

The JC Penny credit card has its pros and cons. If you are brand loyal to this company and pay your card statement off each month, there may be a great incentive to apply for this card. No annual rate is great and fraud protection is important.
Unfortunately the interest rate is outrageous as with most department store credit lines. Having earned points expire at the end of each month is also a huge turn-off for me.

JCPenny charges a $5 Convenience Fee each month for online or phone payments. This includes when you set up and make recurring payments. I have never had card I have charge a fee for recurring payments. I will be finding somewhere else to buy our clothes from! I have very good credit, so I don't need this kind of scam.

they do not charge me a convenience fee and I pay online every month. however, their ridiculous interest rate of 26.99% on their store credit card is the reason I am doing a balance transfer & ridding myself of this card!

This credit card is okay. It's a typical store credit card. It was easy to pay off in store but, naturally, the interest was fairly high. I just used it to get the discount on a big purchase and then paid it off and cancelled it. I no longer use it and have already cut it up.

This credit card is good for the basic necessities or when your really in need of something. You need to be on time when paying the bill, if not earlier because they will charge a late fee immediately.. sometimes before your bill is even due!! Dont count on the rewards unless you're planning on spending a boat load of money here. I guess the 15% discount comes in handy when I shop for Christmas, but other than that I wouldn't recommend this card.

Like many of these cards that are store based, they don't really offer anything good unless you job at that store enough to justify getting this card. The point system is alright if you spend enough at JCPenney, otherwise, get another card for general use. The points expire at the end of the month, which is average and makes it so that the card is really only that useful if the shopper spends a lot of money here. I personally wouldn't recommend this card unless you're a frequent shopper at JCPenney.

I applied for a JC Penney Store Credit Card not knowing if I would get it or if I should. I was pleasantly surprised to find that, not only was I granted a card, but it was a great decision to get one. My card allowed to by nice clothes for work, usually at a discount, with reasonable payments and interest rate.

We have closed our account with J C Penney. We don't need a J C Penney card. We don't need to do business with J C Penney, there are plenty of other good options. Synchrony Bank assessed a late payment charge last month, apparently because our May payment check did not get delivered in time. It had been mailed as soon as we got it. We paid the bill and asked for clarification about the late charge. We received none. No way to discuss. Just a bill for the late charge. This time with an additional 48% (APR) added on. We don't need J C Penney and we certainly want more

I decided to cancel my JCP because of poor customer service, for me personally customer service is really important and and their agents are rude and give you attitude just for asking questions, so I closed my account plus the coupons are not even worth it, at KOHLS i can use stack my coupons and save more just saying.

I'm going to DELETE this account and CUT and Throw Away this card.
I've got two AWFUL experiences with this card.
First being charged for insurance that I didn't asked for and even wasn't aware of!!!
Second being charged for interest and late fee ($27) for sth I paid right on time!!!
I never shop at JCP ever again.
They're all cheaters in every possible ways.

After I made a payment in full (even rounded up to the nearest dollar) at a JC Penny Store in May 2015 on the due date, my account has still not been credited, and I am now (July 2015) being charged interest and late fees! However, when I checked with my bank, the money I paid had been debited from my account. Apparently, JC Penny was having computer issues that day and my account did not get credited. Synchrony Bank asked me to fax the receipt. Reluctantly, I went to a JC Penny store, asked to speak to a manager, and she faxed the payment receipt along with the June more

This card is owned by Sychrony bank, I had a 0 balance in February 2015 and last month June 2015 was sent a letter that my account was closed due to inactivity..... reallly??? not using it for 3 months?? I also had a lowering of my credit limit sometime in the 1 1/2 years of being a cardholder, wan't even notified of it.... DONT GET ANY CARD ASSOCIATED WITH SYCHRONY!! BAD BUSINESS!

If you sign up for this card in the store at the time you are checking out, you get an immediate 10% discount. It's great for that and the deferred interest on major purchases of furniture is fantastic. The interest rate it too high to use this card if you want revolving credit though. The late fees are also about $10 higher than my TJ Maxx card. This card offers a discount of 15% on your purchases so it's worth having if you can pay off the balance every month. Easier than finding online coupons.

Hey ... has anyone else had trouble with the JCP Credit Card?? I have a friend who made a payment in full but arrived late. The late fee exceeded the cost of the item. The following month they received a bill double the last amount. They called JCP Customer Service and each call was directedto a third party collection firm that refused to connect the call back to JCP and they refused to adjust the fee appropriately. There does not appear to be any billing or internet access to the JCP services. Does anyone know when they have their stockhoders meeting?

I got my card in perfect timing. The cashier asked if I wanted to apply for the JCP card and I would receive an additional 10% off; I was school shopping with the kids so all the discounts came in handy. I was even able to get myself a few things. Having the cards allowed me to get what I needed and the ability to pay in a timely manner. Even after I was able to use my card when ever I needed and was able to pay on my account and keep track of every purchase online. I would recommend it to everyone.

The good: As store cards go, the JCPenney Credit Card offers generous discounts and incentives to keep you a loyal (and happy) customer. Getting 10-15% off purchases consistently plus getting a $10 gift card for every $100 you spend makes the savings potential huge. It is important to note that points expire at the end of each month, so to benefit from this card you would need to plan your shopping schedule and stay true to JCPenney.

The bad/ugly: Although there are many attractive terms for this card, 26.99% APR is nothing to fool around with, and after the introductory period is over, carrying a balance will quickly become expensive and more

We love our JCPenney because of the great deals they offer for the entire home and family and having the JCPenney card makes it even easier. With this card you can add up points for every $1 you spend you get 1 point. In addition you get all kinds of discounts when you use your card. The best things about this card is that you have a 0 percent intro rate for 12 months. This will come in handy at Christmas time when your list gets long.

This is an awesome store credit card to start out with especially if you want to build credit. I have had this card for 4-5 years and I love the perks you get with it. I did have a small problem with billing because I didn't receive a bill but I had a small balance on it of under 10$. I called them and they solved the matter in no time and I was able to get a new card as soon as possible so that there wouldn't be any future problems. Though they assured me that if anything like that happened again, they would take care of it. Now more

This card is Ok...if you need to build your credit etc. I was a lil bummed that even though I always made my payments on time i could not get them to increase my limit. $300 is just not enough for a card like this and the interest is a bit high. IF the reward points carried over each month I would have considered keeping it, but Im just not about to throw down $100 bucks every month for a $10 coupon. If you are die-hard JCP shopper it may be okay, but I shop maybe only 4 times a year so it really wasn't worth it to me with more

The JC Penny store card has decent rewards but isn't anything special. The APR is extremely high so after the introductory rate of 12 months ends, I would highly suggest cancelling the card if you are not great with paying your cards off in full. The 1 point per dollar spent is a good deal but you have to use your points at the end of the month, so unless you plan on shopping monthly at JC Penny it really isn't a great deal. JC Penny sends out enough coupons and usually has good enough deals that this card is essentially irrelevant and useless. The Macy's credit card offers better more

I like the discount percentages of this card but found it did not apply to the cologne section which I frequently buy. The APR is a little high so plan on paying your balance off on time especially after the 12 month 0% introductory rate expires. The JC Penny credit card is a great option you can use to get discounts on clothes you would buy anyway but be sure to pay it off quickly or the interest could add it very fast!

The JCPenny card is a pretty good card. The 10-20% discount is great but can be somewhat misleading. Do not go to the jewelry section and expect a 20% discount! That being said, the point system is great, but be careful because points have an expiration date and have a limited redemption clause! Be sure to read up before signing on. Despite the so/so experience that I have had, I do think it is a good card, especially if you are a frequent JCPenny shopper.

I have have had my JC Penney card for over a year now. I have never had a problem with the card or with customer service. The online website is easy to navigate and makes paying my bill online quick and simple. In addition, I enjoy being able to call the automated service at anytime to receive my balance, payment due date, and minimum payment. I have not used the card enough to earn any rewards yet, but my experiences have been nothing but positive. Even when my wallet got stolen customer service was quick to suspend my account and send a new card out right away. I received my more

The JC Penney Credit Card is a great option for someone who is looking for an easy to use store card that gives you a long grace period and no annual fee. In my opinion, the 26.99% regular APR rate is a little on the high side, so if you plan on using this card, make sure you pay your balance off each month. What I really like about this card is the point system. If you have a lot of shopping to do and can get ALL of your shopping done at JC Penney, just buy everything there and rack up the points. You also get $10 in rewards more

I am writing about the JCPenney credit card. First, I want to write about the appealing parts of this credit card. The fact that you can get a bonus of up to a 20% discount is amazing.I also like that you get a point for every dollar you spend on the card. There is no annual fee on this card and a 0% interest rate for the first year! Now on the the not-so-good parts. First, the APR is high (26.99%). Also, the points you may earn expire at the end of the calendar month. There is also a limit on the reward points you can redeem. All in all, more

I absolutely love using the JC Penney store card! The discounts it offers really helps with me managing my money and they give you plenty of time to pay off your balance with a very low interest rate! Overall, it is a terrific card and I would recommend getting it to anyone!

I just love my JC Penney Credit Card, and love how my payments are low. What I really enjoy about this card is how each month with my statement I get a few coupons and promotions to participate in which come in handing during the shopping holiday season. So far I been on great terms with my card and can't wait to use it again after Christmas for more gifts for myself and the family birthdays in 2015.

This card is pretty easy to qualify for. If your credit is bad they will just give you a low limit, but there is no problem getting it raised if you pay it off on time. What I really like about it though is the rewards and deals it provides. They really want all you clothing money! They have special deals almost everyday for credit card customers. I have made quite a few purchases and have no complaints. It's a great card to have just in case! I use it more than most of my other department store cards. With the large selection of stuff at JC Penneys this card more

I got the JCPenney credit card a couple of months ago and I have not had any problems thus far. My credit rating is only satisfactory so I was pleasantly surprised when I got approved for a JCPenney store credit card. I was approved for a $300 credit limit. The monthly payments that I'm required to pay are minimal and the interest rates are bearable. Some of the best perks of the JCPenney credit card include store discounts on top of discounts that are already going on and I'm given a grace period which means that I can pay my balance in full before the interest rates start to accumulate. more

I got the JC Penny store card the year before my oldest child went to third grade. It's so convenient for shopping for school clothes at the beginning of the school year. The payments are easy to make and the reward points are a nice bonus. I love pairing my card use up with some of the great sales you can find in the store to maximize my savings. All in all, I love this card, and it makes school shopping a breeze for me.

I have a JC Penney store card and I really like it for the rewards. I like the $1 in points for qualifying purchases a lot. I really like that you can earn the $10 in JCP money- I use that and then go when they are having a sale and it really stretches my dollar! The APR is about normal. The only thing that I am not totally crazy about is when the payment is due its on east coast time. So it needs to be in by 8pm EST. The other month I had totally forgotten to pay my bill until that evening at 4 where I am more

The JC Penny store card is pretty much average as far as store credit cards go, though the points/rewards program is a little lacking. The Victoria Secret card, and many other store credit cards, offer double or triple points in addition to a store discount and various promos on sign up. AND please note that JCP points expire at the end of each month, most rewards cards will carry over points until you redeem. Unless you are a die-hard JC Penny shopper you should seriously consider a more general reward type credit card instead. I like Chase (Amazon Rewards is awesome, especially if you do any shopping there) and Capitol more

I have had a JC Penny card since 2007. I had a slightly rocky payment history in 2010 but since then have been consistent in shopping and making payments. My credit limit was increased without request, and I took advantage of that. I made one late payment in the past 12 months due to a bank issue, and immediately my credit limit was significantly reduced with no real explanation. I have since paid off my card and have not used it at all, and don't really have any plans to. I keep the account open should the occasion arise that I would like to use it and to have credit options open.

The JCPenny store card is a decent card. I have a Sears’s card and it has similar features. The no interest paid on purchases of $1000 or more on furniture and mattress orders if paid in full within 12 months is similar in value to what my Sears card offers. You can get a point for every dollar spent on “qualifying” purchases which can mean cash back on future purchases but given the points you earn expire at the end of each calendar month is a little disappointing. It is in my opinion an average card with average deals.

I'm about 50/50 with this card. On one hand, they do offer great benefits. $10 for every $100 you spend a month. And if you go platinum (spend $1000 a year) you get the $15 birthday coupon. However, now JCPenney has actually came out with a rewards card that isn't a credit card. So, you get the $10 for $100 with any form of payment. The only thing that is missing with that would be the $15 birthday credit, in which you'd have to spend a lot of money every year in this store to receive that anyway. Furthermore, I really dislike the percentage rate of the interest. I got more

I'm actually a HUGE fan of this credit card. Initially, it may seem as if the interest rate is high, but that's only if you don't pay the balance in full on the card. You can earn reward points by using the card, which in turn earns you cash off future purchases. I also receive plenty of coupons, which when used in conjunction with the card, offers much more value. I like the payment options too... you can pay by mail, by phone, on line or in the store at any register. How convenient!

I love my JCP card. I enjoy earning (and redeeming!) the rewards. I receive lots of coupons in the mail, even a $15 birthday coupon each year. Lots of cardholder-only sales & benefits. I misread a date on one of my coupons the other day & could not use it. The associate showed me where to find an exclusive cardholder coupon on my phone so that I could save even more money. So easy to review my account statement & pay my bill online. Very pleased with this card.

I really like my card. It is rewarding having a card that gives you real rewards , almost same as paying with someone else's cash! I do shop there a lot because I really like the quality of the children's fashion , they even have a small place just for Disney apparel ! The card is a pleasant surprise when all around us sounds more expensive and lasts very little. I was there yesterday, they had a 20% off on the card and I picked out an outfit for my 5 y/o first day of school. After I founded I went to pay and used the coupon , that's when more

I enjoy the JcPenney store card. I remember my mom having one with them when I was growing up and I buy most of the clothes for my two sons at JcPenney so I decided to open one with them as well. I loved the no interest for 12 months, though the APR after that is nothing special it is typical of most store cards. I like the points system so I know exactly how close I am to my next reward and the 20% off discount for opening the account really was a good deal. I opened my card last fall so I used the 20% off for back more
