I have used my JC Penney Store Card many times while shopping for gifts for my family and friends. It was an easy way for me to make all of my purchases at one time over the holidays. I could then, easily, pay off the bill once it came in. I like the idea of being able to make all of my purchases and then make one large payment at the end. I also like the fact that sometimes you can get additional savings by using the card and that sure does come in handy during these tougher economic times. Thank you JC Penney for helping my dollar go further!

The JC penny store credit card is a great card to have. The card will provide the holder with access to great products and good customer service whenever needed. I will say that it is best not to purchase more than you can pay off on the next billing cycle. The interest on the card is fairly high as most store credit cards seem to be. I personally failed to follow this advice and ended up paying much more than my initial balance would have been if I had only bought what I could have paid off on the next billing cycle. The interest plus late fees I incurred due to late payment really hurt my credit report and affected my JcPenny card credit limit increases when I asked for the increase. I recommend the card to anyone but please be responsible when using the card.

I've had the JCPenney card for about six months, and so far it has been great saving me money, and allowing me to pay the balance at my convenience. I like that I get discounts and points whenever I shop at the store. I have been renovating my wardrobe with summer clothing, and this card allows me to spend money knowing I am getting something back. Another great thing is that I can also use it on Sephora (Fragrance shop inside JCPenney) in-store and online, so that I can try and buy my favorite colognes. Overall, I want to say that the application process took a few minutes and was easy to do. I also like the fact that there are several locations in my city to pay my balance when I shop, or I can also do it online. I pay it before it is due to avoid incurring interest fees, and I really recommend everyone to get a card from JCPenney if you are a regular customer like myself, as the savings are great and very convenient!

JCPenney store credit is a great card if you can deal with paying off the balance right away. The interest rates are high but so are the savings. I shop at JCPenneys all the time and signed up for this card about a year ago. I use it every time and turn right around and pay the balance off. Its basically free money and hasn't had a negative impact on my credit report. However not carrying a balance don't have a positive impact either. If you can remember to pay the card off its a great card to have and the savings have easily paid for the extra time I spend paying it off right away.

I used to have a JCPenney store credit card. I would always use it at the Outlet Store, because my money and savings went further. At the time, the interest rate wasn't too bad so it made my decision to shop at JCPenney easier. The JCPenney store card was the only store card I had at the time so shopping at the Outlet Store was the best choice, because I could get brand new items for over 50% off. After having the card for 6 months and making payments on time, JCPenney sent me a letter stating they were raising my credit limit for being such a valued customer. That was really nice.

I have a JC Penny credit card. I think the card is great. The JC Penny credit card has great rewards. For example, if I spend a certain amount I receive a gift card to use on my next purchase. In addition, the gift card isn't a small nominal value. If I remember correctly, the last gift card I received was for $10 dollars. Moreover, the card has a great incentive when I sign up. I got 20% off my first bills, which was great. Furthermore, you can access your credit card balance on the net. This is an awesome feature. You can also see how much you spent. I highly recommend this card.

I have had a JCPenney credit card for over 20 years. I have never had any problems purchasing items or with my account. Returns have always been credited promptly and I love the great deals I get sometimes just by having a JCPenney credit card. It was my first store credit card and was very useful in helping to build my credit rating. I still use it now and then 20 years later. You can’t beat JCPenney for their selection and prices. I receive flyers with promotions in the mail sometimes which is a great excuse to go shopping. The interest rate is very reasonable.

I actually have two cards with JC Penney. Knowing that I'd get a 20% discount if I opened up a new card, I decided to do so since I was buying over $700 worth of business clothing for my husband. That's a huge savings not to take advantage of. It's a great idea if you're good with not using it to buy anything else and can pay off the card quickly. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it because the interest rate is high, so if you're making minimum payments on a high balance, you're paying way more on interest over the course of paying back the money owed than you saved with the 20% discount. Hope I explained that correctly. All in all, it is a good card to have. I just miss all the deals and discounts we used to get from having a Penney's card.

I have had this credit card now for over a year. So far, I’m very satisfied with it. I periodically receive discount flyers in the mail (usually for $10 off of a purchase). Surprisingly, I do not have to use the credit card to receive the discount. This can also be paired with clearance items which has gotten me deep discounts… for example, a pair of flats for $5. Furthermore, this card is useful in that it can also be used for Sephora online purchases, which gives the user flexibility in spending. Overall, I had no issues with the card and would recommend it to others.

I signed up for a card two years ago with an in-store promotion to get 10 percent off the purchase for that day. That was the only good thing about it. I never received the card, and never received a bill. Months later when checking my credit score I found out that I had been dinged for not paying my JCPenney bill. I went about calling and settiling up the account and was promised that my credit would be adjusted. No such luck. Also I have yet to receive a card. My experience may have been due to the doofus signing me up, but really, it also involved someone incompetent on the phone with me as well. I am sure it could be a better experience than this, but really to this day, still no card. And now I don't want one.

I used this card for several months now. It's just convenient for me to pay in that fashion, and the J C Penney store points I receive with every in-store purchase do add up. Also, there are many great bargains the customer can only access if they pay with their branded credit card. So I just keep this card in my billfold at all times, so it's already there when I am shopping at Penneys. My main complaint about the card is that the interest rate is very high- and certainly not competitive with just using a regular visa card. But, if you pay off all your balance each month, that high interest rate does not come into play. All in all, I can recommend this card- if you do keep your balance sort of low and pay it all each month.

This is the first store credit card I got when I turned 18. I had problems with going overboard on buying clothes when I first got it, but soon learned that if I could control my spending habits and only buy some stuff that I really needed and knew that I could pay it off every month that it would be worthwhile. I love the fact that I can go grab some jeans for myself if I go up or down a size and do not have to wait until payday to do it. I have had this card for 17 years and do not plan on ever getting rid of it.

First of all, the interest is sky high. I think everyone knows that. If you don't pay your bills on time, this could become very problematic. But, if you're the kind of person who keeps this things under control, it shouldn't phase you. So far, I've been lucky and I've been able to keep my balance down. What I like the most about this card is all the special coupons and deals I get. I regularly receive mail from JC Penney with special discounts if I use my card. I prefer the ones that are ten dollars off a certain amount than the percent off (it feels like I'm getting more of a bargain). I've also thought that the customer service agents that I've spoken with on the phone are very friendly and helpful. All in all, I'm very pleased with this card, even if I don't use it all of the time.

I just received my birthday discount card--made me smile. Don't know if I will use it or not but it is 15%--very nice gesture on their part. I get coupons regualarly through snail mail and email. I do think the interest rate on this card is high and if you don't pay on time the balance can grow very quickly--they add a big fee. So I make sure at least the minimum is always paid before the due date. If I have some extra funds I will often make a second payment or a larger first payment. It is pretty easy to knock down the balance this way. I haven't done this recently but in the past if I was a few days late on the payment I would call to talk to a customer service rep and ask that they remove the extra charge for late payment. Often they would remove it. Try that if you are paying late (make sure you make the payment first) and see if they will remove the fee. I have always enjoyed shopping at JC Penney. I find their prices to be reasonable, and even more so since they made the recent shift to a more stylish inventory--although it seems few have recognized that the prices are pretty much the same and in some cases lower than they once were. The stores in my area have had a make-over and they look great but they were always clean and well attended before. The lighting has been vastly improved, especially in the dressing rooms.

I really like my JCPenny credit card. The interest rate it high, however it really does seem to balance out with the discounts I get on certain merchandise by using my card. I bought some kitchen items and they were running a special that if I use my credit card I get an even bigger discount. I have not been getting their coupons like I once did. It seems since they went to the more affordable products (as seen in the sales papers each Sunday), that they don’t send out very many coupons any more. The card is easy to apply for and has great benefits. A lot of people don’t realize, but you can use it in their salon too! Customer service is excellent, too. I was shopping in a store and a clerk charged me twice for the same item. I noticed it as I was leaving the store. I went back into the store and they refunded my money to my card. I called the JCPenney customer service number on the back of my card several days later because I still had not received my refund and they were so helpful and issued the refund almost immediately. I would highly recommend this card to someone. It has great benefits and tons of discounts for card holders.

I found the interest rate to be very high. I have not been receiving coupons as I once have. I do like they have generous limits and good customer service. I had an experience once with a rep who helped me find my payment and apply it correctly. I was refunded a late fee and she was very nice. I have had several cards from stores in the past and if the interest rate was better this is a good one to have. I would recommend it as a good starter card for a new college graduate or someone establishing credit.

I have several active credit cards that I currently use from time to time. Of those credit cards, my JC Penney credit card is my absolute favorite. The card has a low interest rate which is always a plus. I also love the fact that I receive various coupons on a consistent basis. I often open my mail box to find JC Penney coupons worth $5.00 or $10.00 with no minimum purchase requirement. I have also found that I can use the card at the JC Penney salon, which comes in handy for a last minute day of beauty. Another little known benefit of having a JC Penney card is that it can be used at CVS Drugstores for all of your household, cosmetic, and first aid needs. I would recommend this card to everyone, it is truly one of the best.

I absolutely love my JCPenny card! Since their change to more affordable products, I've found myself shopping there a ton more than I had ever before. As a result, I found myself wanting one of their store cards to maintain what I spent there. To my surprise, it was extremely easy to apply for and I was easily accepted. The lack of an annual fee is awesome, and the rate associated with purchases is very reasonable. I haven't gained any rewards yet, but customer service was very kind and helpful in explaining the process and helping with my account. Paying the bill is simple and I just simply love everything to do with this card and it's company. There isn't an issue in the world I have with them!
May 10, 2013 at 06:52pm
The JCPenny card is a wonderful card that works with you. Usually you're annual rate is pretty low and if you end up being late for any reason, they often are understanding and work with you. Customer service was very kind and after you make around seven payments they up your credit limit. The rewards could be a little bit better though, so if you have another card that give you better rewards you might want to stick with that instead. But over all, JCPenny is one of the better store cards I've had. They can also be a little bit understanding of your credit if it isn't that great and give you a chance as well from what I understand.
May 10, 2013 at 06:21pm
I was disappointed as even though I spent over $100 per month I never got the $10 rewards, my returns were credited very slowly, and their interest rates aren't as good as other cards. Plan to stick with other rewards visa/Mastercard on this one.

The JCPenny card I have has been wonderful. Not only was the card easy to apply for, but I have earned so many rewards by using my card and shopping there. I have bought things for as little as a nickel after using there coupons and JCpenny bucks. I have not had to deal with customer service much. Possibly once. I do not have anything negative to say about it, they were helpful. It has been over a year ago and I can not remember the details. Another bonus was as soon as you made several payments on time they gave you a higher credit amount. I believe that took less than a year. I have had a total of 3 boosts in my credit limit.

The JCPenny store card has been an excellent tool for me to build my credit with! I applied a few years ago and the application process couldn't have been easier. Of of the few cards I applied for this was the most straightforward and easy application of them all. I really enjoyed the initial 20% discount I received and love that I get coupons in the mail every once in awhile for more discounts and shopping passes. The customer service has been perfect. The only time I had a problem and called in, they were nice and helpful; they didn't try to give me a run around like most customer service these days. Overall, I think it's a great starter card for people who need to learn about credit and work on building it up.

The JCPenney store card is a good option for helping to build credit. With all of the fuss surrounding JCPenney, and their pricing schemes, they still have some decent merchandise and occasional good deals. There’s no annual fee for the card, and if you pay your purchases off monthly the interest rate doesn’t matter. You’ll get an initial discount 0f 10-20% on a purchase, depending on what you buy, and subsequently are entitled to discounts of up to 10% on various items. Discounts apply to on-line purchases, too! I haven’t had any issues with customer service, and believe that the JCPenney store card is a great card to have in your wallet. It costs you nothing; saves you money on purchases, and prudent use of it will help improve one’s credit scores.

I originally got this card to help boost my credit since I'm pretty to new to having credit in the first place. Applying was easy and I was happy that they approved me and were willing to give me a chance. I've had the card for a while now and no complaints! I can pay my bill online and view my account information. It's pretty much just like every other store card. I can only use it in JC Penney as well as Sephora (the one in the store) so that's fine. All in all, a great card for people looking for a little boost.

The main reason I decided to get a JCP credit card was because of the 20% off discount on the first day that you applied for one. That made my purchase sound a whole lot better when it was clothes I really could have waited on. JCP is one of the places I shop the most because of all the great deals on clothes for my son. You will not find better prices for Carter clothing elsewhere! I always pay my balance in full when the bill comes so I've never been charged any interest. If you shop at JCP a great deal, then this is the card for you!
January 8, 2013 at 04:15pm
I have always paid off my bill and have had a $0 balance since May, 2012. I have stopped shopping at JCP because I don't see the savings and am honestly confused at what they are trying to do with the new look. Today I received a letter stating my JCP Gold Rewards card will have a new interest rate of 26.99%. Sorry, not interested as I would rather pay cash or use my low interest Visa card. So JCP, not that you care, but I am leaving you for good...

JcPenney was one of the first store credit cards that I enrolled with to boost my credit, since I was an avid shopper there. I have had the card for over 5 years.. When I first signed up, it was a nice bonus to have the 20% off my purchase that day and the coupons were flowing in which made shopping there feel like a bargain! However, I haven't used it much because ever since they rearranged the pricing structure of the store, the coupons HAVE NOT been flowing in and practically stopped. I called about it and they said they still do send coupons, but not as often. That is a big negative as I love a good bargain shopping trip. You have to remember this is a store credit card so the interest rate is pretty high, but also standard for a lot of store credit cards. So, if you use it make sure you try to pay off your balance pretty quickly. I carry no balance with this card as I do pay it off when I need it to make a purchase. So, if you are looking for a store credit card and like shopping at JcPenney I would recommend this card, but don't expect the coupons and card benefits to be consistent now that they changed the structure of the store!
October 11, 2012 at 03:11pm
I have had this card since 2008 and I love it. They have raised my limit quite a few times without me even asking which makes things convenient. I haven't used it as much recently since they aren't sending out as many coupons as they used to in the mail. I think the interest rate is comparable to other store credit cards and it's a great way to build credit which is the reason I initially got this credit card. The variety of items available in the store and online are great and while using it online you can even get free shipping.
October 4, 2012 at 02:22pm
I've had a JcPenney credit card ever since I was 18 years old and started working there. Honestly, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages nowadays. The interest rates are sky high (around 25%). It's absolutely crazy. There used to be a lot of special coupons and sales for card holders but with the new CEO took over all of those things have been done away with. I think if there was an incentive to have the card now I would say "Yes, get it but pay it off every month" but now I can just say "Please don't get it. It's not worth it!"

I got my JCPenney card many years ago, when I was in college. I had a part-time job that JCP deemed good enough to grant me what was then a very large credit limit, especially for a student in a college town. Dealing with JCPenney then, was like dealing with a small, local merchant and anytime I had an issue with my bill or making a payment, it took a five-minute phone call to reach a courteous customer service representative and the issue was taken care of. Once I graduated from college, I kept and used the card for many years, until the local mall that was anchored by JCPenney was torn down. I stuffed the card away and basically forgot about it until many years later when I once again lived in an area with a local JCPenney store. I visited the store with my old card and was told they would have to re-issue me a new card. No problem, I was reassured and after getting all of my current information, they promptly sent the card to my old college address, an address I hadn't lived at for more than 20 years. They then mailed it to my parents' home address, the address I would routinely change the card to every summer in college, then they tried the college address again. Each time the card would get mailed back to them, they would call me and ask for my correct address, basically accusing me of providing them with incorrect information, even though they managed to call my current phone number. After several weeks passed with no card in my mailbox, I called and spoke with a customer service representative. I should say I spoke with a representative after 20+ minutes of waiting on hold and getting transferred to six different departments. The representative was extremely short with me, but seemed to finally have my correct information and said she would eliminate all of the other addresses they had attached to my file. I hung up feeling that I was being blamed again and sad as it seemed the old JCPenney was a thing of the past. Believe me, no one was more surprised than me when I received a phone call the next day from JCPenney's head of customer relations offering profuse apologies for the problems in getting me the card and the way my calls were handled. As a token of appreciation for my patience and gesture of goodwill, they express mailed me my new card along with a JCPenney gift card. If you ever doubt that anyone actually listens to customer service calls, when they mention they might be recorded for training and quality control purposes, don't. It turned out my call had been randomly chosen and handled immediately.
