I just got the approval of Latitude ℠ Mastercard® Credit Card with 20000 buying power. My actual credit score is between 720 to 770. There is no waiting time for their customer service.

They solicited me with a pre-approved app. So I submitted the app and was declined. My credit score that was on the Equifax C.R. they pulled is 789. I have been on the credit bureaus for over 30 years. Not a single lateness. I have 1 card with a $4500 balance. I have other cards with high credit lines that either have no balance or I have closed. When I asked why I was told I had to submit proof of income and the sources of my income. I was appalled. They solicited me and they were treating me as if I was on my hands and knees begging for a mortgage. I closed both my checking and savings accounts with them and walked out the door. I won't be going back. I have a checking account with Chase right across the street and Key is just a rinky dink local bank. I don't need them. And I don't like being insulted. It is obvious they are trying to bulk up their customer base. This whole episode leaves me wondering if they are in some kind of financial difficulty. Perhaps they have bought out other banks and are trying to bulk up their bottom line and believe if they have strong credit criteria that they will protect themselves from losses? I don't know. I worked in the credit industry previously and was an authorizer back in the day at a time when credit decisions were made by humans and not machines. There is something very definitely fishy about this whole situation.

Worst CC application experience ever. Underwriter requested most recent W-2 and most recent 2 years tax return. I submitted all of these documents and the underwriter still did not understand how much money I was making based on these documents. There was a lot of back and forth going on, resulting in 6 separate calls when I then just gave up and said that the next time I heard from them I just want an approve or decline answer. They declined because after all that communication, my finances were still "unclear" to the underwriter. Never again will I try to do business with KeyBank (note that I have over 20 different credit cards from every other large CC companies).

What stands out to me the most is that a credit rating of 720 or above, (which is considered, "excellent"), is required but the rates for the card, (after the introductory rate expires), are very high. If someone has such good credit, why would they be, essentially, punished with such a high percentage? These percentages would make more sense for people without such a good credit rating. The other item that strikes me as poor is the late fee. It shows a maximum of $39 for $250 or more worth of purchases or transactions. That, again, seems awfully high for a user who has an excellent credit score. These are numbers I would expect to see for someone who is in the high 600 rating.
What I do like about the card is that there is no annual fee and if someone does steal the card and use it, there is no fraud liability. That is reassuring in this day and age. The agreement also offers a 25 day grace period which is the norm. Overall, this credit card seems much more fitting for someone with a score between 650 to low 700 rather than someone with excellent credit.

The KeyBank Platinum Credit Card looks like a great deal. The two things that really stand out to me are the 0% introductory rate (which lasts an entire year!) and the lack of an annual fee. While the rate after the intro year does seem a little high, I can see myself using this card very frequently, especially with the rewards program set in place for the card. Earning a point for every dollar you spend sounds like a great deal! I will be asking my bank about this can very soon, even though the interest rate on my current card is less.

I have this credit card attached to my Key Bank checking account, so that it draws from this card if there is ever an overdraft. Having this in place, in the last 6 years, I've only had to use the overdraft protection with this credit card, once. I was then able to easily transfer money over to the credit card to pay off the overdraft amount. Plus, there's no fee for over-drafting your account. The only thing is that they do charge you a $25.00 fee, per year, for annual fees on the credit card. But that's not too big of a deal, to ensure that you have over-draft protection. The other great thing about having this card attached to your bank account is that it's very simple to transfer money to the card to pay it off. Another great feature of Key Bank, is their great online service integration.
