I had been considering getting this gas card for several years. I like that it offers five cents per gallon off for all Shell gas purchases. I like that the card has no annual fee. It has a high interest rate, but I pay off my cards in full every month. Overall, I would recommend the Shell Gas Card.

This card initially was great when my local Shell gas stations were accepting Shell Card as cash, because in L.A., Cash price is about 10 cent cheaper than Credit. So I was getting about 15 cent off per gallon, but this no longer the case. Gas station is now taking Shell card as credit card instead of cash, so I'm only getting 5 cent off per gallon.

I like the fact that there's no annual fee with the Shell card, but an interest rate of over 24% is much higher than any card I've ever been wiling to sign up for. $38 late fee isn't terrible, though. Seems like an OK choice for a very basic credit card, as long as you're lucky and pay off every month and don't experience any fraud (they offer zero fraud protection).

This card is nothing to write home about. It's your basic gas card. There is really nothing to be gained by it that you can't get from other cards. The customer service is disappointing.

There doesn't seem to be anything too overwhelming about The Shell Gas Card. The rewards on the card are marginally better then competitors, I had a Chevron card in the past where you didn't earn rewards quite as fast. What does worry me is that they don't list "zero fraud liability" like other similar cards, and in this era of mass credit card theft that’s scary. The cards biggest benefit is that it is for Shell gasoline, the only gas station I go out of my way to go to.

The interest rate of 24.99% seems very high - it's much higher than the card I use now. With that high of a rate, it's not a problem that they don't allow balance transfers because I wouldn't want to transfer anything anyways. Other than that, I like that there is no foreign transaction fee. That's handy when traveling and would be helpful on the cruise our family has planned coming up in a few months. I also like that there is no annual fee - I would never have a card with an annual fee.

The Shell Gas Card is a pretty decent, if somewhat plain, choice for a credit card. The interest rate is in the middle of the spectrum, not high but not really low either. It's pretty easy to get one, and the rewards are limited but not bad. You can save 5 cents a gallon using this card at Shell Stations and those savings will add up over time. If you're a regular Shell customer, this card makes sense for you, but if not then you're better off searching for something else.

Compare this to a more standard rewards type card which isn't limited to one location and you can see this more

This Shell credit card is a decent card for anyone that spends a lot of money on gas and requires at least 120 gallons a month. If you don't use that much gas I wouldn't bother as you won't get the 5 cents off until you use 45 gallons worth and if you live in the city you work you might not use that much in a month. Also I would make sure I paid my balance every month because the 24.99 % is pretty high. So all in all I would say if you plan on paying your balance down every month and use a lot of gas this more

As a long time Shell customer I can say that this is honestly one of the best cards I've ever had. The interest is fairly low, and I love that I get rewards points from my Winn Dixie card that I can use in conjunction with my Shell card, which also offers incentive programs. If you are looking to add a gas card for any reason, I highly suggest that you consider this one. My only complaint is that sometime Shell is priced more than its competitors.

The Shell Gas Card is a quality card for be able to buy gas at all Shell gas stations nationwide. The short term rewards are pretty nice with the 25 cents a gallon savings for two months. However after that it becomes very limiting with the savings offered. 5 cents a gallon savings isn't much of a reward when you compare that to the 24.99% interest rate for the card. You also have to purchase a certain amount of gas per month to earn the rewards. Other cards like Chase Freedom are better overall credit cards long term that give you 5% cashback on gas during two quarterly periods a year.

The Shell Gas Card seems like a really good deal for the first two months, but due to the high interest rate, I don't think I would use this card for anything but two months worth of gas purchases. The convenience of being able to use this card for gas anywhere there's a Shell, nationwide would be worth it, but after two months would just be a rediculously high interest rate credit card. It would be nice if the gas discount after two months was higher than five cents a gallon, so I would only use this for two months.

I don't see this as being a terribly good card. Aside the $0.05/gallon savings, the benefits of the card are pretty average for a credit card. I'm really not a fan of the fact that you cannot manage the card online and have to use paper transactions. Even with the gas perks, you can only save a max of $5.00 per month while limiting your refueling locations. Look elsewhere for a card that can give you similar benefits.

On the whole, the Shell Gas Card is good for buying gas nationwide. For the first two months, I can save 25 cents off the price of each gallon of gas or diesel. Flexible payment options and no over-limit penalties that add to my balance is great. After the first two months, I will only save five cents a gallon, up to 100 gallons a month. The interest rate is also nearly 25 percent, which is higher than credit cards.

I am very impressed with the Shell Gas card especially with the option to save per gallon with use of the card monthly. I like that its pay at the pump and no annual fee. We drive alot between neighboring states to visit family and it comes in handy and saves us per gallon with repeated use. Checking into the Hotel and travel perks too. There are a lot of stations here locally and neighboring states to stay to ensure frequent use and maintain a discount per gallon. Their cashback/reward options seem great and we appreciate the fact that the Shell Gas Card does not put a cap on the more

I like that the Shell Gas Card offers a gas reward, but I think it should be a little more. I like that this card has no annual fee. The last credit card I had through Chase did. The APR rate is a little high, but they do offer a 25 day grace period in case the unexpected happens. Overall, it’s not the card for me.

The Shell Gas Card is great if you drive a lot and you don't mind having another credit card. But what bothered me was their lack of online presence - you can't manage your card online, and in today's tech world this is a little shocking for me. I've also heard about the Exxon card, which seems like it has less perks. On the upside, the Shell card provides great hotel and travel perks!!

My experiance with shell oil has been terrible. My boss has been riding my butt for the last week to get 4 accounts unlocked and shell will not email me a statement. They said they would fax it and that it would take 2-12 hrs, it's been 2 days and I've called over ten times. Every time they transefer me to who knows where in India with a terrible connection where I can't hear the person I'm trying to work with. We overnighted over 5 grand over a week ago to open up our fleet accounts and we know they have it and all they keep telling me is that more

The Shell Gas Card is great for me because I have a Shell gas station right by my house. I always buy gas from there so this card is very convenient for me. The annual fee is hardly anything when you consider what perks it has and how much people actually spend on gas. The perks for half price hotels and 10% back on car rentals really works for me. I value those perks the most.

This card is actually pretty good. I had a citi card that was similar to this. It gave decent rates, but I enjoy the fact that you earn 10% extra when staying at select hotels. My Citi Student card offered similar services, but not that good of an offer. The only problem I have is the $25 annual fee. But that is minor if you use the card right.

The Shell gas card is really not that appealing to me because I had the exxon gas card before which had nearly identical usage terms and did not satisfy me. The only difference is it did not give me rewards for staying in hotels and flying. I am not a frequent traveler yet but I think there are better ways to go about cutting down on traveling costs rather than getting a gas card like this one that doesn't give you much of a reward for using gas. I would not really recommend this card to anyone unless they are a very frequent traveler.

This shell card is way better than my previous gas card at a company I would not like to say on this forum. I believe that the benefits of this card outweigh my current cart. I will apply for this card in the near future. I would recommend this card for anyone who constantly travels as the rewards for hotels and planes are great.

This is Great!I love this card. The shell gas card is a really good one with so many benefits. Compared to other cards$1000 dollars emergency cash. The Shell Gas Card is a fantastic choice for travelers.Overall I think the Shell Gas Card is an excellent card for my needs. Their cashback/reward options seem great, although not as good as I have seen. like the fact that the Shell Gas Card does not put a cap on the amount that you are able to earn from your rewards.

I love this card. There have been plenty of times that I have found myself in a jam and it came to the rescue. Compared to other cards, the offer of the hotel savings along with the cash back is just wonderful. I am happy with the grace period as well as I am guilty of forgetting to pay my bills on time. This is Great!

The shell gas card is a really good one with so many benefits. $1000 dollars emergency cash??? that's a really good offer. the grace period is long too. it's unlike what i am using now at walmart. if i have the opportunity i will go for this card.

As someone who travels regularly, I really appreciate the 5% cash back on airfare, 10% cash back on many hotels and no foreign transaction fee. The only down side is that there is no reward for buying gas. Since it is a gas card, I would think that there would be some sort of incentive to buy gas, but there isn't. The annual fee of $25 isn't too high, but I do typically prefer a card with no annual fee. However, the $35 maximum late fee is very nice.

The Shell Gas Card is a fantastic choice for travelers. It features a good percentage of cash back on some well-known and very easy-to-find hotels, as well as cash back on traveling needs like airlines and car rentals, PLUS discounts on many other hotels. There are almost no drawbacks to this card, especially since, if you travel, you'll get enough cash back to easily cover the annual fee and more.

The Shell Gas Card gives a whopping 10 percent back on stays at some of the best hotels around. This is a much better offer than you can find on most cards and makes this card a great way to save money on accommodations.

Overall I think the Shell Gas Card is an excellent card for my needs. As a college student I'm not a fan of the $25 annual fee, but as a person who frequently flies home from school and back, I have more than made up for it with the 5% cash back for airline fees. With that said, I am curious as to why a gas card would not offer cash back when buying gas. Nevertheless, the most important factor to me about this card is that it is stress free. A max late fee of only $35 puts my mind at ease. What is more, having had a different more

I like the card; it should list the other places it works at more clearly on the card, and also mention that it can be used for store purchases. I would like custom images also. The insurance and the max late fee are nice. Over all I try to stay away from cards, but this one is nice. I would say this Shell gas card is much better for gas than my BP gas card.

The name of the card, the Shell Gas Card, may be a little misleading because you can use it for much more than gas. The best thing about the Shell Gas Card is that you are able to earn 10% cash back when staying at specified Hotels as well as earn 5% cash back on air lines and car rentals. The cash advance rate is 29.95%, which I would personally look to avoid. Overall, I think it is a great card if used on vacations.

The Shell Gas card is not what it seems. It obviously has nothing to do with gas, so I feel like I personally wouldn't be able to get much use out of it as I would a regular gas card. However, for the rewards they offer I think it is pretty awesome. I would enjoy getting some extra perks when I do travel. Their cashback/reward options seem great, although not as good as I have seen. I also prefer my Capital One credit card rewards which I can use for anything, with a lower apr and no annual fees.

I like the fact that the Shell Gas Card does not put a cap on the amount that you are able to earn from your rewards. As a person that drives a lot for work it makes it a great card to have! The $1,000 emergency cash is an awesome perk to have. It takes the stress off of my mind that I will ever be in an emergency situation that I will not have assistance to get out of. The rate is OK/middle of the road but the advance perk more than makes up for it. This is the card to have for anybody that has a big commute more

The Shell Gas Card is probably the most horribly named, yet still useful, credit card I've ever used. It has nothing to do with gas, and I don't think I've ever used it at a Shell station. What it is good for is all the aspects of travel /except/ gas. Off the bat, it has a $25 annual fee, so if you dont see yourself using it a lot it might not be a good fit. If you book a lot of airfare, or stay in a lot of hotels, you can really get a lot of savings using this card. Just make sure you pay it off quickly, as more

If you need a travel based credit card, then look no further than the Shell Gas Card. This card offers amazing bonuses for using it during traveling and booking, such as a discount and 10% cash back for staying at an approved hotel. This card also offers 5% discounts on airline tickets and car rentals, which is great for saving money. Finally the Shell Gas Card offers an emergency $1,000 cash or prepaid airline ticket. For travel this card is great to have, but beware of the annual fee of $25, one of the negatives to the Shell Gas Card. It also has a high interest rate and 29.95% cash more

I am not a huge fan of the Shell Gas Card terms and conditions. This is due, in part, to the fact that it requires an annual $25 fee. Almost all the cards that I possess do not have any fees. I feel very strongly about this and probably wouldn't use the Shell Gas Card for that reason. However, I do like the flat rate $35 max late fee. The rewards you earn using this card also seem to be more generous than other rewards programs that I have seen.I especially like the 50% discount at over 5,000 hotels and 30% discount at many more.

The Shell Gas Card is kind of interesting, or confusing one might say, unless you really read what you are getting. You would think, since it's a Shell Gas Card, you would get some kind of cash back or rewards for purchasing gas, but nope. Nothing. In fact, it isn't even useful in any way at a Shell gas station, which makes no sense. Either way, this card is great if you do lots of traveling and spend a lot on hotels and car rentals. The money back is actually very high, it's just quite misleading to call it a Gas card, when it most obviously isn't one.

This card makes absolutely no sense to have. When you get a gas card you expect to get money back from that gas station, but nope this doesn't give you that. You get money back from actually renting hotels from various across the country. What makes even less sense is that you get money back from buying airline tickets? Why would they want to give you that if its a shell card. They would want you to drive everywhere since they can sell you more gasoline. This card just makes no sense, and has no reason to get it. I was highly disappointed with this card because i wanted money more

Pay attention to what you're getting, and this is definitely a GREAT card. The Shell Gas Card doesn't offer any rewards for buying their gasoline, which I admit to be very strange. However, it does offer a whopping 10% cash back on a variety of hotels, which is a HUGE amount of cash back for anything! A business traveler would benefit greatly from this Shell Gas Card. And, to make it even sweeter, it offers 5% cash back on car rentals and airplane tickets! I think that actually might be even better than my Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Plus Credit Card. The TrueEarnings from Costco and American Express only offers more
