    With my Sovereign bank Visa card is there a number I call to let them know I'm going on a cruise out of the country- Going to Panama Canal, Columbia and Costa Rica- I've been on Caribbean cruises before with no problem - but people have said credit card companies are getting more watchful and put holds on credit cards out of the country, I booked with this card also. I tried calling customer service - but did seem to find a number to press for this info. Thanks

    You are right that there is not a specific option to select in order to notify your credit card company of your foreign travels. Instead, just select the option about 'General Questions' in order to get to talk to a Sovereign Bank customer service representative, who will be able to flag your credit card account appropriately. One important thing to keep in mind is most Sovereign Bank credit cards charge 3% foreign transaction fees.
