There was always a problem, every time I charged something. I would have to call every time. We would get it all straightened out but after 7 years of having to call all the time, I got tired of it. Then there was the fact that I NEVER received any of my rewards. I purchased everything from expensive (over 1K) printers, external hard drives, paper, desk chairs (Lazy-boy leather), ink cartridges that were over $100 each, etc, and never got my rewards. When I would call there was always some complicated excuse. It shouldn't be that hard. I spent thousands of dollars for excuses and confusion with my bills. So I closed my account.

30% interest. Really? Disgusting and usurious. Terrible customer service. Incorrect late fees (I had to call and wait to speak to someone to have them removed.) How can any bank get away with charging 30% interest??

Easy to apply- same day purchase, but I have had mainly frustration working with them. I got the card in order to purchase a laptop with 0% interest for 12 months. On track to pay it off in 12 months, no problem. 9 months in and I keep making telephone payments and their phone system keeps telling me they were unable to process payments- so I get charged late fees. Couldn't pay for 3 months without contacting an "account specialist". I finally get them to take some of the fees off. Then, a few months ago I paid off the rest of the amount- no problem, they say. My account is clear and fine! No bills for 2 months and then all of the sudden I get a bill for $5.00- $3.00 charge and $2.00 late fee, even though I haven't even used the card. I called them up and nobody seems to know why this charge is on here, because my card doesn't have service charges. They take them off and I close my account within 15 minutes. Customer service is really nice and competent but whatever billing system they use is absolutely not worth it. My credit score has taken more hits from this card than I care to admit, strictly for that reason.

I received a promotional brochure in the mail heralding $75 off my first purchase of $150 or more. I ordered 5 ink cartridges for $170+ and jumped through all the hoops in applying. The online order showed -$75 and a balance under $100. When I got the bill, there was no indication of a $75 credit. I spent 30 min or so on the phone to Staples and the More account people. No one mentioned any way to reconcile the problem, so I returned all of the cartridges. As soon as I receive a balance zero statement, I am closing this account.

I was not discounted the $50 that I was promised for a $150 purchase. Citibank sells your social security number and income to all its marketing affiliates, even after you quit, and gives you no option to stop it. It's terrible. NEVER WORK WITH CITIBANK OR STAPLES.

I got my card last year after the associate said I wouldn't have to pay interest for 12 months. fast forward 10 months and I find out that I've been paying interest the whole time. The "best" a supervisor at the call center can do is credit two months interest. I call complete BS on the whole thing.

Like another reviewer, the store mis-entered address which resulted in my not receiving my first More account bill for 3 months. When I finally received,my $100 calculator had another $74 in "late fees". I paid through my bank bill pay system and thought I was done. But NOOO. Apparently, Staples claims to have received the amount 5 days past the due date for that cycle. So they charged me another $37 in late fees + interest. I sent the bill back with the note that I had paid in full. I was receiving automated vmails from Citi, but ignored as I don't have an account with Citi and they were not specific as to their nature & thought it was spam. After receiving my latest bill with yet more charges, I called Staples/More customer service to figure out why I was still getting billed for what amounted to purely late fees & interest on interest (no real balance on the account) . The customer service rep was rude, told me I needed to pay all charges and that they would proactively notify credit bureaus of my default payments. My $100 calculator has cost me over $350 due primarily to their error in entering my address. Needless to say, I WILL NEVER SHOP AT STAPLES OR BANK WITH CITI AGAIN.

I got this card for one of my businesses. We tend to buy quite a bit of office supplies and printing materials. Having this card helped us streamline our purchases. We also enjoyed no interest payments initially, which was great considering we were doing consignment work. This card is backed by citibank and their customer service is very good. Application process was smooth but we did have to provide additional information after the online application. Overall I would recommend this card to business owners.

While the 5% reward rate is appealing, the extremely high APR of 27.99% is exorbitant. It is not worth it, in my opinion. I have heard of other cards, such as the Walmart Business Store Card, with a much lower APR of about 14%. The maximum late fee of $38 is comparable to other cards, and the grace period of 25 days is also comparable. What I really like about this card is the online accessibility of the account, for faster payment and an easy way to keep track of everything. Overall, I would choose to find a different card.

Applying for a card these days should always come with some sort of bonus incentive. The Staples card doesn't have any incentive bonus, which is the first major strike. My Chase Freedom card came with a $150 bonus, so I'm slightly disappointed the Staples card receives nothing. The regular APR is just under 30% is the 2nd major strike, making this card an all around terrible deal. The only saving grace is no annual fee and the 5% back on rewards. The free shipping seems debatable, since there are two major exclusions. Overall, this card is not worth the meager 5% bonus.
