Nice initial discount. You will receive 40% off your first online purchase, along with a $15 discount on a $50 purchase with the Torrid Credit Card, which could save you a bundle if you time things right. This isn’t the biggest first-purchase discount available from a store card but it’s still a great deal if you’re planning a Torrid shopping spree.
Very good ongoing rewards. You will earn 1 point for each $1 that you charge to the Torrid Card, which might not sound like a lot but actually works out to 4% cash back (spending $250 earns you a $10 gift certificate). That’s already right in line with what the best store credit cards offer on an ongoing basis, and the deal’s sweetened even more by two 30%-off days each year. Those discount days could wind up being the star of the show if you shop strategically.
Not built for financing. Store credit cards are bad for carrying a balance from month to month, thanks to their high regular APRs and the fact that any “special financing” they may offer usually includes a dangerous feature called deferred interest. The Torrid Card is no exception. It doesn’t have a reduced intro rate, and its regular APR is above even the average for store credit cards (30.16%).
Fair credit should do the trick. As long as you have a bit of credit experience and no major negative marks on your credit report, you should be able to get approved for the Torrid Insider Credit Card. That might surprise you given the card’s impressive rewards, but store cards are known for having relatively lenient approval standards. If you’re not sure where your credit stands, you can check your latest credit score for free on WalletHub.

Torrid closed my account before I could use their card. Very disappointed as my daughter is a great promoter of the store. I have no idea what was behind that decision.

They will charge you interest even after you have paid off your balance in full, and they do not send adequate notification when your account is past due. When you contact their customer service regarding the interest, which should not have been charged, they are either rude or unhelpful. I have never missed a payment in my life, yet it is reflecting on my credit report and will impact me for the next seven years, having dropped my score by over 100 points. This is extremely frustrating, especially when I am looking to purchase a house—now I will be unable to do so unless the credit bureau removes the late payment that I should not have received. They need to implement a "pay in full" option to prevent this from happening again—not that I would ever carry balances with this company again or open any line of credit with them. Save yourself the hassle and DO NOT get this credit card.

Worst credit card ever. It was very easy to apply and be approved, and I go to Torrid enough that I thought the card would be a good idea. Boy was I wrong. The website to manage your account is atrocious. It's very hard to navigate, and their customer service is practically nonexistent. I made my payment in full, but I must have typed my account number wrong (my fault), so it was returned. I didn't receive an email, text, call, or notification of any sort. So, of course, it was then late. But when I went to make the payment again with the correct information, the late fee wasn't posted. Then a month later, I got a late fee and interest charged for that late fee. So on a $100 purchase, I ended up paying over $170. As soon as I can, I'm closing this card. I just hate that it will negatively affect my credit, so don't waste your time.

I’m not happy as I was attempting to make payments on the app and it’s been impossible for me to find. So I was directed to oay conedity bank which I have been doing thinking it was for the torrid Acct. Now my credit I’ve been working so hard to get in a good place. I’ve now had this card cause my credit to go down but it’s due to the lack of ease in making payments. I would not let my credit go down so much over a $40 bill. M very upset at the lack of ease to making payments as well as my credit going down due to lack of a simple communication on making a payment. I feel very disappointed that I opened an Acct w torrid as it’s hurt my credit at a time when I truly neec it to be over 600. I have attempted to send info in to get this negative mark iff my record and have not gotten any response. I hooe you can fix this as it’s going to impact my entire life.

This is the worst credit card customer service ever. I used and enjoyed the discounts and points I got from using the card for my purchases. After a while I stopped using it, however, because unless I paid it off immediately, the interest offset any discount. I never had a late payment and had been making large payments to try to pay off the balance. In September of 2022, I paid off my entire balance. I didn't know it, but they charged me an interest fee of $7 after I paid it off, so I didn't know that I owed them $7. It began getting late fees and further interest charges added to the account. I never received a notice about these late fees or amount. I finally got an automated phone call in December to contact them about my bill. When I looked at my account online, I was shocked to discover that I now owed $65. I sent a message through the online message system, explaining the situation. I asked for a reduction of the fees since I hadn't even know I owed them anything. A few days later a message came back explaining how I owed them the original $7 and their payment policies and that I still owed them $65. Then I tried to call customer service but couldn't get through the system to dial to an actual person. Finally I got a phone call from debt collections. They had turned me over to a collection agency. I answered the call, explained the situation, and the person told me if I paid $27 right now, that my account would be paid in full. I repeated this back several times to make sure and then agreed. The next day, my bank account showed that $37, not $27 had come out of my bank. I just let it go, wanting it to be done. Then this week (Feb 2023), a month later, I got a payment due notice for $28 that was due. I looked at my account, and saw the $37 payment had come out but they had not zeroed my balance. I had even been charged another interest charge! I called them again, and explained the entire thing, and the person I spoke to told me that they would waive the final amount (as a one time courtesy!) As of today, my account still shows that I owe $28. So it's still not resolved. This is the most frustrating communication system and the most unethical way to do business that I have had to deal with. I will never use this card again, and honestly, it's even put me off buying from Torrid.
