Trek Credit Card's Additional Info
•
Deferred Interest Details: No Interest if paid in full within 6 or 12 months on purchases of at least $210 or $420, respectively.

No rewards. The Trek Credit Card doesn’t offer any rewards, which puts it in a very negative light relative to most other store cards, let alone the best of the bunch. Perhaps time on the bike is a reward in and of itself, but you could have that and hundreds of dollars in rewards with different plastic. So check out WalletHub’s editors’ picks for the best rewards credit cards, instead.
0% financing. The 0% introductory APR offer might actually be a blessing in disguise. You see, all the major retailer-affiliated credit cards with 0% intro rates use a dangerous feature called deferred interest. That means if you miss a monthly due date by a day or don’t repay your full balance by the time regular rates take effect, interest will retroactively apply to your entire original purchase amount, like the 0% rate was never there. With that being said, carrying a balance from month to month with the Trek Bike Credit Card is still a bad deal, as its regular APR is well above the average for a store card, according to WalletHub’s latest Credit Card Landscape Report.
No annual fee. The Trek Credit Card is about $21.58 per year cheaper than the average credit card, thanks to its lack of an annual fee. But most retailer-affiliated credit cards don’t charge annual fees, so the Trek Card is still in the middle of the pack in that regard.
Only worthwhile for credit building. The Trek Credit Card requires at least fair credit for approval, which is again the norm for store credit cards. But unlike the best store cards, whose rewards make them appealing to people with good and excellent credit, too, cost-effective credit building is really all this Trek Bike Card brings to the table. So it’s definitely a good idea to check your credit score for free on WalletHub before applying. And if you find that you have good credit or better, you’ll be able to skip the Trek Card in favor of one of the market’s best rewards cards.

You can use your Trek Credit Card at more than 1,300 participating Trek Bike locations. You can use your card for purchasing bikes, e-bikes, accessories, clothing, and more.
Alternative Credit Card That Can Be Used Anywhere
Keep in mind that traditional store cards can only be used at the retailers they are affiliated with. So, if you prefer a credit card that can be used anywhere, it would have to belong to a major card network that facilitates payments with most merchants.
A good option would be the Capital One Walmart Rewards® Mastercard®. This card can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted. Plus, it offers 5% cash back in Walmart stores using Walmart Pay for the first 12 months, 5% back on Walmart.com purchases, 2% back at Walmart stores and fuel stations, 2% back on restaurant and travel purchases, and 1% back on all other purchases. The card's annual fee is $0.
It takes 7-10 business days to get the Trek Credit Card after approval. Unfortunately, the issuer doesn't offer expedited shipping, so you won't be able to get your card sooner.
If it's been more than 10 business days and you still haven't received your card, call (412) 381-5500 to notify the issuer.
Approval for the Trek Credit Card happens in just a couple of seconds, at least when applying online. If it's not the case for you, it can take up to 5 business days to get a decision from them.

I got this card because I felt like keeping the money I was dropping on my very expensive Checkpoint SL6 working for me in other investments for the year.
The Trek credit card helped me actually decide on Trek as I was considering others but this option to gradually pay the $4200 I was dropping over the year sealed the deal for me. Sure this card doesn't have spiffy rewards other than the 'Payment Options' but for me that was all I really wanted from it in the first place...
Any responsible person who utilizes this card can easily work within the confines of its limits. I looking at about another three months to zero the balance .. this was also beneficial as I did manage to break my frame due to my own mistake so I had to pony up more money for a NEW FRAME ... this card let me drop the burden of that goof on it as well which was very useful ... Bikes are expensive even more so with the ebikes too ... point I will close with is even if you can pay for a expensive item in cash outright ... if you got good credit use it and keep that money in your own pocket working for you ..
... be sure to close out any promotional plans before they expire is the only piece to lookout for if you have a major purchase as the accrued deferred interest can certainly bite you at the high interest rate this card has ...
Else enjoy your new bike and get out there

It was very nice enrolling in the 0% apr for 12 months. I had every intent on paying the remaining balance but then a little insignificant thing called covid 19 hit me hard. Reached out to their hardship program to get extension. An extension on 0%/12mo was not offered. I was just trying to avoid incurring the interest rate of +$600. Available was 3/6/9 mo at 10% with some other details I couldn't understand. Good card until a life-changing event occurs.

Terrible customer service with trying to deal with a Trek credit card. I would not recommend. Very hard to get them to call you back to dispute a charge and they make you start from the beginning with customer care. They seem to have mastered the art of avoiding you so that maybe you will give up calling them.

This credit card company deserves ZERO stars. I am not one to ever leave a review, but this is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a credit card company, and I feel terrible for anyone who is a current customer. DO NOT USE THEM! They have no Customer Service whatsoever, and they will try to screw you over. I can guarantee you will regret your decision if you decide to get a credit card with them.

Awful. I signed up for the card under the impression that I would benefit from their promotional period. 0% interest if paid in full within 6 or 12 months. I planned to pay off the card in big chunks only to realize that on my second payment I was being charged for interest! In addition, there were other fees that I had to pay which was not made clear to me after I had opened the card. I went though four different people only to have to file a dispute. Do NOT sign up for this card even if you are trying to build your credit. It's a complete trap.

Misleading and deceptive business tactics!
Ran into some financial hardship at the beginning of the year and I reached out to Comenity for help. I was told I was eligible for assistance and then was told that I no longer qualified. I was then told that I would be eligible again and all I had to do was "not pay the entire balance on my statement". I was concerned with doing this because I was nearing the end of my promotional period and I was close to being charged all the interest from the 12 month promotional period. I was told on the phone that If I got enrolled in the hard ship program that the interest would not be charged and that I would continue to pay with no interest. I was then told to wait for the hardship program offer to come in the mail. By the time I received the offer, my 12 month promotional period ended and the interest hit. I made multiple calls to Comenity, where I was transferred at least 3 different times to different representatives who had no history of my previous conversation. Finally, I was directed to file a formal dispute in writing. This process took 4 weeks before I ever heard anything back. Finally, I heard back that the charges were justified and that they could not do anything for me. I called again immediately after receiving the letter. Again, after being transferred multiple times, I spoke with a gentleman who seemed genuinely concerned and went out of his way to help me. He refiled my dispute for me and told me to call back a week later. When I called back, I was informed that they were going to remove the charges and that a letter will be coming in the mail soon with the remaining balance. The only mail that I received from Comenity stated that they were still investigating. After waiting a couple more weeks for the letter to come in I called back. When I called back to follow up on the status of the letter and my account charges I was told that they would not be removing the interest charges and that they have no notes on my account that stated the charges were ever going to be removed. Even when I asked for the same department that the gentlemen who actually helped me out worked in (specialty care department), I was told that department doesn't exist.
I have now been charged a substantial amount of interest since they have been stringing me along during this process. I have since had the money available to pay off the original balance but not the added interest. Comenity has told me one thing on the phone and done another on paper, creating a lot of confusion for me. They lied to me and have wasted hours of time keeping me on the phone and transferring me around to reps that had no idea about any of these issues. I have a great credit score and an excellent payment history with all my accounts. I hit a bump in the road and Comenity made every effort to take advantage of me!!

I never receive notice of a payment due and always have to remember myself. I have called about this problem before and always get a snarky remark. This month i forgot to make a payment and they are unwilling to help with late fee but will send my request to a supervisor. Im paying off my balance now and will close the account once payment post.
