The only way to close your account is to call Walmart Credit Services at 1-877-969-3668 but take into account that this card doesn't have an annual fee and unless you carry a balance, you don't have to pay anything for it. Can I use this card at other stores, not only at Walmart?

Yes, you can use your Walmart Credit Card everywhere MasterCard is accepted, not only in Walmart stores. You even get 1% of the purchase amount spent outside of Walmart stores. Best of luck!

What is the minimum credit score for approval?

Credit card companies will not share the minimum credit score they require to approve an application. Nevertheless, you can get an estimation of your credit score for free, full TransUnion credit reports and credit improvement tips, on our sister site, WalletHub, at .
While your credit standing is a very important factor it doesn’t guarantee acceptance. There are other variables that may play a role such as outstanding debts, your income and your job status.

We can say this about the Walmart Credit Card: You’d better love Walmart and live near a location with an attached gas station if you’re going to apply for it. Other than offering a $35 first-purchase rebate and not charging an annual fee, the card’s main claims to fame are a modest discount at Walmart gas stations and 1% cash back on all other purchases. Plus, if you don’t qualify for the MasterCard version and instead get approved for the Walmart store credit card as a consolation prize, you’ll lose both that 1% base earning rate and the ability to make purchases outside the Walmart family.

We don’t recommend this card more

Terrible customer service, I set up payment plan online they tried two separate times to pull money. And said it was not there, so I had late fee. But I talked toy bank and they said they had no idea why walmart did that. There were plent of funds in account. So I rescheduled payment and it finally went thru, and was still paid well in advance of due date. I do not use card very often, so until I got letter in the mail saying they had deactivated my account. I had no idea there was a problem. When I called customer service they were rude and kept interrupting more

Let me start by saying that I would absolutely NOT recommend getting a credit card through Walmart. It's not the card itself (though the interest rate is high, even with good credit); it's the customer service that you're obligated to speak to when something goes wrong with your account. After being in customer service for over 10 years myself, I will, without hesitation, state that Walmart has the WORST customer service representatives and supervisors I've ever worked with in my entire life. When I first received my Walmart credit card, I attempted to use my card to pay for my groceries. They charged the single charge to my card twice, more

Do not get this card you will experience the bad services for card holders. You have no options to make a stop payment for outside merchant....and/or make a dispute againts a certain merchant for fraud, undelivered services, unsatisfied services, and stolen product. Customer Service are rude and unreliable. Can't wait to pay my balance and cancel this useless card.

Horrible customer service!!! - used my card to order online. Informed Walmart MasterCard I had never received an online order and asked them to credit my account as the seller did NOT have a signature of delivery. They opened an "investigation" - months later was informed that my account was not to be credited that it was "a risk I take when ordering online"!!!!

Love this card, I got it 3 months ago and I pay it off before the statement date. Never had a problem with customer service because I pay attention to the small print so there is no need to call them. I cant wait for a credit limit increase and hopefully in 12 months I will have the mastercard. :)

For the haters, learn to use credit responsibly. For all others, this card is great. I didn't have excellent credit nor did I have poor credit either. I was given a modest credit limit, and I always pay the credit card off (way before the due date like every credit card I have). I haven't been charged interest yet but have received a few hundred dollars rewards now (which I continue to save). You see all the haters have something in common. They either wait too late to make a payment, don't pay their entire balance before the grace period, or hold balances each month. Those people would be better more

I read the fine print, and my bank backs me up on having enough funds. And that walmart card was in the wrong. And I have a 780 credit score. So I know how to handle my finaces. Just because you were lucky with this card does not make everyone else inept, with credit.

I originally applied for the walmart card and got the one just good for their store (I think 1500 limit ish) --- However - about 8 months into it they sent me a mastercard version of the walmart card and upped my limit to 6000 --- I did NOT realize when I activated the card the differences and it ran a hard inquiry on my credit which I was NOT thrilled about (house refinancing don't need hard inquires)... well... I haven't had any issues, I have a 700 credit score and paid it off this month - interest is way high compared to my other cards, so it will go more

Um...unless you've ever been ravaged by identity theft, then you can't appreciate what just happened. It's not a lack of empathy on their part. They have that policy of not providing a card number for a reason. If you can't wait a week or 2 for your card to be mailed to you then you probably don't need the credit card in the first place.

These cards from Synchrony Bank Credit Cards are a scam for false purchases for 0 interests. You purchase a lawn mower for $300 plus for 12 months at no interests. Your first payment will be $35.00 x 8.6 months = $301.00, scam, no explanation from customer service. Cards from other banks did not crunch the payment plan from 12 months to 8.6, unacceptable. This was our fourth year for this 0 interests plan , 3 were with other banks. Not next year with Synchrony Bank Credit Cards.

This card company has a unique scam that generates over a billion each year. If you ever make a payment that is due on a holiday make sure you pay the bill at least three days before the due date. I paid on a Friday for a bill due on a Monday. Due to Monday being a holiday, they claimed that no payment was received until Tuesday and charged me a late fee. My bank statement showed it was paid on Friday but their records show payment received the following Tuesday. This is how they ruin people's credit and generate billions in the process every year.

Horrible customer service. They would not let you talk and tell them whats going on without them cutting you off and telling you that you are the one thats wrong. Called not long ago after receiving my first bill and didnt receive my $35 discount they offer after spending $75+. Lady try to tell me that i didnt use my card when i received it, told her i had gotten pre approved by mail and that my card didnt arrived till two weeks later and that i didnt have a card on hand she said i should of used it anyway, like what in the world. yeah im ganna go more

I will be cancelling this card! I have never made a late payment or missed a payment. I don't have problems with my credit score either. Recently I made a payment because I was planning on paying off the balance of new appliances with my card to take advantage of the cash rewards. When the lady tried to process the charge the card was declined. I panicked because I had made a payment several days earlier to cover the balance of the appliances and any recent purchases and thought my card had been compromised. I called Walmart customer service and was told there was a negative balance on my but more

I had this issue after making a payment 9 days ago to pay off the balance. I went to Walmart today to buy gas and a few groceries ... I was denied. Called CS and the lady to me that they froze my account due to the unusually high payoff. 9 days ago it cleared my bank account. $250 is not unusually high pay off. Next time I'll make 5 $50 payment. COMPLETE BULL SH*T !!!!

Very bad communication with customer service, and exorbitant monthly charges if you have any sort of carry-over. As with Walmart itself, this is just another example of inflated profits for a huge corporation with no real community benefits. This is a sorry example of trickle-down economics, folks. Run while you can.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a credit card!! I paid it off on time in Oct. 2015. charge was denied Dec. 2015 because account was closed by Synchrony Bank No notice, no understandable explanation. Just a lot of mumbo-jumbo! Their customer service supervisor Trevor was a total corporate robot. I will never shop walmart again!!

I started with a regular card and a low limit (300). I shopped at Wal-Mart often enough so I thought it would help me better track purchases. I followed all the general rules of keeping a low balance and paying it off. My limit was raised after 6 months to 700. I didn't change my behaviors. After 3 months, I got a letter saying they were changing my card to a Mastercard I could use anywhere. My new limit was 1500. Three months later I got the card and when I activated it the new limit was 5000. I get 1% back, discounts on gas, and bonus financing. It works more

To put it bluntly the card sucks. Walmart sent me a bill stating that the total minimum due was to be paid by 1/1/2016. When I went to make the payment two weeks prior I was told that the account was closed. After two months of nonpayment they closed my account with no written or verbal notice. Then later on the same day I received a letter in the mail stating that Synchrony Bank was no longer handling the account but that it was sent to a debt collection agency called Allied Interstate. But I was told both by Walmart and Allied that payment could be made to either and more

What I am seeing here is everybody telling the same stories of bad customer service and "habitual" mistakes on accounts that always cost the card holder unnecessary penalties. The reviews are actually very bad and since so many say the same thing, there is little doubt there is much truth to the complaints. However, if you will notice, there are a lot of thumbs downs to the negative reviews and the occasional outlandishly fabulous grand reviews about this card. Like trolls working for this company trying to keep the rating from dropping to embarrassingly low, yet deserved levels. Really look at it! Who could actually love this card? No body more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. This is my first credit card and I'm young and I'm trying to build it up. I applied and got approved quickly in store, used the temporary pass and everything. They said they would send it within 10-13 business days. It's almost been a month. I've called multiple times, and they didn't answer any of my questions except that they'll send me a new one. Now I have to wait another 2 weeks. Did I mention that they spelled my name wrong too? On my card and that I had to correct them? Yup. So then customer service in the phone told me I can pay more

This is a terrible card. They give you a very low credit line, and it is next to get a credit line increase from them even if you have a very high credit score. I cancelled my card and pledge never ever to shop at Walmart again. The Target Red Card is a much better deal with a 5 percent instant rebate and free shipping always.

its worthless. worst customer service ever. I paid all my bills on time and now they are saying I didnt paid money for 6 months so its affecting my credit. I asked for history or a statement but the CSR was so rude she refused to provide me. I asked for supervisor help but she refused even to talk to her. Never ever get this card. They are big fat liers.

I closed my account with wal-mart almost 10 years ago because of the horrific customer service and APR. Then approx 6 months ago I started getting statements from them again! Although the statement showed no purchases it did show a .40 cent credit. I ignored it. The next month I got a cheque from them for the .40 cents. My family and I joked about it but basically ignored it. After all its 40 cents who cares right. Then I got another statement from them with a payment of something like $37. This time I called them to advise them they were applying someone elses payments to my account and more

Worst customer service ever. I requested to speak with a supervisor regarding m my statement and the representative clearly told that the supervisor refused to take the call and I should check my spam for my statement.... SMH

I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews for this card. I've never been charged a late fee when it wasn't applicable (if you don't pay on time or a few days in advance to let the payment be applied, of course you will have a late fee). The rewards add up fast if this is the only credit card you use. I get money off of my purchase almost every time I'm at Wal-Mart (yes, I am there often!) I think this is a great card and will continue to use :)

Don't even bother applying for this even if you think your credit is good! I applied after getting my credit score up to 609. This is a huge improvement and I have been able to get a couple store credit cards and a brand new car. So I thought I would see. I get a denial letter saying I am denied because my credit score is 385 and they got their info from transunion. Unless my credit karma and the place I bought my car through are lying to me this is totally off. So now I am stuck with a hard inquiry on my report which will lower my more

They charge late fees when your not late, made two payments in a month, but still charge late fees because the payment was not close enough to due date, I will pay this card off and never use again. APR is way to high, rip off from a company that make billions a year. Pathetic they would do this!

This Wal Mart Card has a high APR and a pretty low reward. It also has a sub standard cash back program. It is easy to get approved for, and for the first 12-24 months there is not interest. So, maybe a good starting card to build credit but then you will want to move on. Three stars seems fair.

This is the worst card I have ever seen. I tried to activate my second user credit card. They keep getting the phone number incorrect, cannot set up pin. The phone keeps on hanging up. When put on hold sometimes, it just transfer to a new person, and the whole verification process starts over again. I think in total my secondary user and I have spent over 4 hours for the last two weeks on activating the credit card. Conclusion, the pin still cannot be set up. This is my 4th phone call today, each time at least 20 mins. I really gave up. DO NOT GET THIS CARD. This more

I had the same problem while trying to get the secondary card.
majority of employees's accent is not clear & worse than that they are trying to talk fast so that makes it even more fuzzy. and I also realized that interrupting the client while talking is one the basic policies. Transferring to a different person makes you think that you are done half of job; no!!! Don't get excited you have to start over again. Funniest thing, I called to cancel my card yesterday due to a disputed transaction I had, the employee didn't even give it a try to keep the customer happy. sure mam you have a balance more

my mother has this card. she bought several things and the latest was a lawnmower. my sister found out how high the cost plus interest on it was and offered to transfer the balance to a credit card with much lower interest. they told her that they were not set up to be able to allow her to pay it off with a credit card, it had to be cash money. so now we are working on an arrangement to get it paid off. the fees and interest are rather high. and why would there be a foreign transaction fee ? i am guessing that is for if you travel more
