The only way to close your account is to call Walmart Credit Services at 1-877-969-3668 but take into account that this card doesn't have an annual fee and unless you carry a balance, you don't have to pay anything for it. Also, keeping your account active can help boosting your credit score. You can find more about it at:

We can say this about the Walmart Credit Card: You’d better love Walmart and live near a location with an attached gas station if you’re going to apply for it. Other than offering a $35 first-purchase rebate and not charging an annual fee, the card’s main claims to fame are a modest discount at Walmart gas stations and 1% cash back on all other purchases. Plus, if you don’t qualify for the MasterCard version and instead get approved for the Walmart store credit card as a consolation prize, you’ll lose both that 1% base earning rate and the ability to make purchases outside the Walmart family.

We don’t recommend this card more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. This is my first credit card and I'm young and I'm trying to build it up. I applied and got approved quickly in store, used the temporary pass and everything. They said they would send it within 10-13 business days. It's almost been a month. I've called multiple times, and they didn't answer any of my questions except that they'll send me a new one. Now I have to wait another 2 weeks. Did I mention that they spelled my name wrong too? On my card and that I had to correct them? Yup. So then customer service in the phone told me I can pay more

This is a terrible card. They give you a very low credit line, and it is next to get a credit line increase from them even if you have a very high credit score. I cancelled my card and pledge never ever to shop at Walmart again. The Target Red Card is a much better deal with a 5 percent instant rebate and free shipping always.

its worthless. worst customer service ever. I paid all my bills on time and now they are saying I didnt paid money for 6 months so its affecting my credit. I asked for history or a statement but the CSR was so rude she refused to provide me. I asked for supervisor help but she refused even to talk to her. Never ever get this card. They are big fat liers.

I closed my account with wal-mart almost 10 years ago because of the horrific customer service and APR. Then approx 6 months ago I started getting statements from them again! Although the statement showed no purchases it did show a .40 cent credit. I ignored it. The next month I got a cheque from them for the .40 cents. My family and I joked about it but basically ignored it. After all its 40 cents who cares right. Then I got another statement from them with a payment of something like $37. This time I called them to advise them they were applying someone elses payments to my account and more

Worst customer service ever. I requested to speak with a supervisor regarding m my statement and the representative clearly told that the supervisor refused to take the call and I should check my spam for my statement.... SMH
I've been a customer for close to 3 years without any issue but after this run around and worst STUPIDEST customer service, I am never using them again.

I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews for this card. I've never been charged a late fee when it wasn't applicable (if you don't pay on time or a few days in advance to let the payment be applied, of course you will have a late fee). The rewards add up fast if this is the only credit card you use. I get money off of my purchase almost every time I'm at Wal-Mart (yes, I am there often!) I think this is a great card and will continue to use :)

They charge late fees ($35) even when the payment is made on time. To me, it's a rip off. Call customer service and talk to a computer, then you can talk to a foreigner. Either way, your stuck with the late charge. I'd rather borrow money from the mafia, it's cheaper and more honest.

Don't even bother applying for this even if you think your credit is good! I applied after getting my credit score up to 609. This is a huge improvement and I have been able to get a couple store credit cards and a brand new car. So I thought I would see. I get a denial letter saying I am denied because my credit score is 385 and they got their info from transunion. Unless my credit karma and the place I bought my car through are lying to me this is totally off. So now I am stuck with a hard inquiry on my report which will lower my more

They charge late fees when your not late, made two payments in a month, but still charge late fees because the payment was not close enough to due date, I will pay this card off and never use again. APR is way to high, rip off from a company that make billions a year. Pathetic they would do this!

This Wal Mart Card has a high APR and a pretty low reward. It also has a sub standard cash back program. It is easy to get approved for, and for the first 12-24 months there is not interest. So, maybe a good starting card to build credit but then you will want to move on. Three stars seems fair.

This is the worst card I have ever seen. I tried to activate my second user credit card. They keep getting the phone number incorrect, cannot set up pin. The phone keeps on hanging up. When put on hold sometimes, it just transfer to a new person, and the whole verification process starts over again. I think in total my secondary user and I have spent over 4 hours for the last two weeks on activating the credit card. Conclusion, the pin still cannot be set up. This is my 4th phone call today, each time at least 20 mins. I really gave up. DO NOT GET THIS CARD. This more

I had the same problem while trying to get the secondary card.
majority of employees's accent is not clear & worse than that they are trying to talk fast so that makes it even more fuzzy. and I also realized that interrupting the client while talking is one the basic policies. Transferring to a different person makes you think that you are done half of job; no!!! Don't get excited you have to start over again. Funniest thing, I called to cancel my card yesterday due to a disputed transaction I had, the employee didn't even give it a try to keep the customer happy. sure mam you have a balance more

this is by far the worst card that i own! bad customer service, high APR and poor rewards make it ,uraguably, the worst credit card ever!
my FICO score has gotten better and better, and a lot of my credit card companies have awarded me a lower APR; except for walmart.
stay away from this card!

my mother has this card. she bought several things and the latest was a lawnmower. my sister found out how high the cost plus interest on it was and offered to transfer the balance to a credit card with much lower interest. they told her that they were not set up to be able to allow her to pay it off with a credit card, it had to be cash money. so now we are working on an arrangement to get it paid off. the fees and interest are rather high. and why would there be a foreign transaction fee ? i am guessing that is for if you travel more

My card was shut off after each and every purchase, I had to call the credit card and assure them that I made the purchase prior to each use. I went through the shut off and having to call several times. At one point, the CS tried to interrogate me as to what medication I bought at the pharmacy and why. Calling prior to each use is not the way to have to use a credit card so I closed it out.

It's been a month since I opened my account.
I have my previous address on my DL so I called them and gave them my current address on the day I opened my account.
But they still sent it to my previous address.
I called them after 7 days and they said I would get it the next day but no.
After waiting 9 days I called them back and they said my card was returned because they sent it to the previous address.
So i gave them my current address one more time. And they said i would get my card in 7 to 10 business days.
Well... Today i got a mail from them more

if you shop at walmart supercenters, there are much much better cards. RBC Mastercard offers 2% cashback while shopping at walmart. Walmart only gives you 1.25% with no extended warranty, purchase protection. The Canadian PC World Mastercard offers 2% back at their own stores while walmart doesn't. Really $25 sign up bonus? Too little too little. Plus that $25 that walmart offers has lots of tiny print conditions attached. No thanks for such little rewards. $100, might be interested. MBNA smart cash, used to offer 3% now 2% at walmart supercenters. Plus the mbna emall used to offer a combined 5% return rate though the mbna emall portal to more

I have never been late on my payments ever with the 3 years and one day my reoccuring payment was cancelled and I was not notified in any way. I contacted customer service and what a joke it was. My concern was not addressed and made to feel that I purposely avoid payment. I would not recommend this card to anyone due to their lack of customer service and scams to obtain late fees. Closed my card on the spot.

I'm not a big Wal-Mart shopper, so this card doesn't appeal to me. It seems like it has some decent deferred interest deals going on right now, so that's a positive. Of course that means you have to spend a lot of money in their stores, so that may get you into trouble later on. The late fee isn't terrible, and there's no max penalty APR, so that's appealing. But, the standard APR on this card is outrageous! I can't imagine paying 22.9% on balances; that's crazy! Not only that, but the "perks" of the card are so terrible. You get $5 back when you spend $500. That's 1% reward more

I will be canceling this credit card soon for two main reasons. First, the APR is extremely high compared to other instruments. Second, Synchrony Bank will not send you an electronic statement nor due payments warnings . Consequently, you will be charge $35 each time that you miss a payment.

The Wal-Mart Credit Card is one of the best store owned credit cards you can get, but only when you're a frequent shopper at Wal-Mart but lets be honest, not many normal human beings care to go into Wal-Mart these days. But regardless the card offers very good rewards for making purchases and even gives you rewards when using Wal-Mart gas stations which is usually rather cheap to begin with, now I can't attest to quality but it's likely one of those " get what you pay for " scenarios.

I had this card for two years now and if you pay your complete balance off online they will put a hold on your account. Recommend going into Walmart and paying off your account if you want to see the funds affect your account right away. This Synchrony Bank will decrease your credit limit without you knowing it, I called customer service and they told me to dispute it with Transunion. Telling me my credit score when down. As I check because I have their credit score as a figure my credit score when up from the last time I check it. Bad business if you ask me and I more

As a Realtor for more than 25 years a word of warning to those of you that are cancelling your cards when you are angry at the credit card company---pay the balance that is on your card or transfer it to another , but don't ever cancel a credit card as it will adversely affect your credit score----you don't ever have to use it again cut it up and throw it away, but just leave it there on your report---- it makes no sense , but whenever you cancel a card your credit score goes down.

What people really need to look out for with the Walmart Credit Card is the introductory rate of 0%, but then a regular APR that is through the roof, which will also be applied to anything purchased during the introductory period if it isn't paid down. Use it for its bonus, but then switch to a card with a better rate after the introductory period.

Trying to sign up for auto pay was a pain. By the time I enter all the security questions and answers it'd log me out for inactivity. It took me four tries going as fast as I could.

Then I finally did it and the next month they hit me with a $25 late fee, even though I signed up for the auto pay as soon as I got my first bill. This is my first late payment in 30 years and my credit score took a 20 point hit.

Not only did I NOT get the $25 sign-up bonus, I got a late fee...

Beware rude customer service. I like the credit card but not customer service. If you lack customer service skills, you should not be working with customers. I receive horrible customer service from a rep and supervisor. The way how the supervisor was talking to me it was so unprofessional I had to hang up and file a complaint. When I filed the complaint and spoke with Kelly she sounded so unconcern. So when I pay this card off I am going to close it immediately. Customers should feel value and appreciated. That is what customer service is all about. WALMART DID NOT DELIVER THAT MESSAGE.

i was hung up on and am attempting first to file complain with bbb, Walmart ethic and integrity division and there is a huge announcement from june about synchrony "questionable business practices" when the bank settled inquiries from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Department of Justice related to questionable business practices. Also notable: The charges stemmed from an internal audit after which Synchrony self-reported the issues, according to the press release.

Customer reviews for the bank aren’t favorable. Customers report disappointing customer service." so this is no surprise that they wont allow you to speak to their manager to file a complaint and they conveniently string you along past more

I opened a Walmart Credit Card in order to take advantage of the $25 bonus credit and the additional $10 bonus for making qualifying purchases of $75 twice during a specific period of time. I waited 3 months and finally called to report no bonus credits were ever given to me. Took me nearly an hour on the phone to get them to credit my account. Sad news is, they said it would be done but it wasn't. Took another call and a request to speak to a supervisor to get the credits posted to my account. Something is wrong here. I currently have the Walmart credit card and it's been a nice card. I like the fact that you can get cash out right at the register when making purchases. It does have a high interest rate, but if you use it sparingly and pay off your balance quickly, that is not an issue. You can also receive your FICO credit score if you receive electronic statements, so that's a good way to stay up on your credit. Overall, good card.

I used the Walmart Credit Card for 2-3 years without any issues. Unfortunately, my first large purchase (over $1k) was made with a service provider that did not deliver on its promises. I disputed the charge with Synchrony Bank and after 3-4 months of going back and forth with an assigned case worker, she stopped responding to my calls. Now, I sit on hold for over 25-30 minutes with their main telephone line before becoming frustrated and giving up. Synchrony Bank does not protect its customers. I will be paying my final bill, closing the account and taking my business elsewhere. Don't waste your time and open a line of more

Are these people out of their minds giving this card any stars. I have excellent credit and didn't need another card but during the holidays they had a deal to take $25.00 off your bill if you open an acct. `The problem is you have to deal with Synchrony bank. This is the worst bank I have ever had to call. They sent an e bill for the first time and the second time I used it, I was waiting for a bill but didn't get it.
