Lil Wayne sure is all about that paper, the cheddar, the moola, the green, whatever you may call it, he likes it. Don’t believe me, take it from the man himself. Hes also been known to say stuff along the lines of "You know that money talk/ I am the ventriloquist" and "Married to the money/ A true love story" and "If time is money/ I'm an hour past paid" and "I get money to kill time/ Dead clocks.” That sure doesn’t sound like someone who would offer a prepaid card out of the goodness of his heart. Instead it sounds like someone who is extremely money hungry, which should make you dubious about opening Lil Wayne’s Prepaid Card, the Young Money Prepaid Card. This card was released fairly recently and was all over the news, so I thought I’d review some less publicized plastic, but obviously changed my mind. The real question anyone considering opening the young Money Prepaid Card has to ask themselves is not who issues it and what his motivations may be, but instead how the card’s terms stack up. The most important fees to look at when evaluating a prepaid card are its one-time activation fees, monthly fees, annual fees, ATM withdrawal fees, customer service fees. They are the fees most likely to come into play since people generally use prepaid cards as substitute checking accounts or teaching tools. By looking at these fees, it’s clear that Lil Wayne and co.’s Young Money Prepaid Card is a pretty expensive option and people should look elsewhere to handle their prepaid card needs. The Green Dot Prepaid Card, Amex Prepaid Card, and The Approved Card from Suze Orman are all good options, depending on your exact needs and intended usage.
