Explanation: Debts that can be eliminated in bankruptcy. A discharged debt cannot be legally enforced against a debtor, though any lien securing the debt might remain.
Our Thoughts: Not all debts are dischargeable -- you will not be able to discharge family support or criminal restitution payments, for example.
