I would give 5 stars because the people who did give us attention were very professional and great to talk to. But, we stood in the store for quite some time before even being approached. It felt a little "cold"... Otherwise, they were helpful and had great deals. I would go again. But, I'd do my research online instead of asking questions there.

I've had the same problem with Guitar Center several times, but this is the most recent. Last week I went to the Guitar Center on the north side of Indianapolis, Indiana, near Castleton Mall. I was shopping for a guitar case for my son and found a VERY nice used one for a VERY nice price. However, when I got to the checkout I was told that they had to hold used items for a certain period of time (I assume to be assured it wasn't stolen, sort of like pawn shops have to do). I asked why it was on the floor, displayed with all the other merchandise if more

I've have always wanted to learn how to play guitar. My friends would always strum away on their guitars while I sat there admiring how easy it seemed to be to play. Not knowing a single thing about guitars, I decided to take a trip to Guitar Center. Holy moley. The moment I walked in, there was guitars and amps all over the walls and people playing them on the sales floor. I was in awe at how inviting the store looked. I must have spent about 20 minutes looking at all the guitars on the wall. A helpful sales employee came over to me and asked me if there more

I went to Guitar Center to look for some audiophile level headphones. I’m not much of an audiophile but I felt my current headphones were not comfortable enough so I wanted to get a new pair. My friend recommended the store. The store had 12 different headphones on display to try on. I tried on a few. The pair of Audio Technica headphones I was looking for was available but not on display. The manager decided to take new pair out of the box for me to try on. That was big surprise. Most stores wouldn't do this for a customer. Once they open a new box, they can’t sell more

I used to use guitar center alot for my shopping but after a recent experience I haven't been back. I went in with some trades that I wanted to use towards a new half-stack. I took in a custom Yamaha drum set, 3 vintage ibanez pedals, and 2 dual 15" PA speakers. I did my research as to what they worth and it looked like if I sold them privately I could get about $1,300 for all of it. I spoke to the manager who came over and looked over everything and his final total he offered was $150 for all of it. I understand they are a business and more

Music has been a big part of my life since before my teenage years. Initially guitar was my instrument of choice but have my limitations with understanding some aspects of it, so now I much prefer piano. Guitar Center is not just for guitars, it has all kinds of musical instruments from drums, to headphones, to keyboards and even guitars (surprise!). This store is really awesome and it's a joy just walking the store and checking out the merchandise. There are a lot of specials and if you're friendly with the sales associates or managers they have tended to sell me products at manufacturer's cost. Unfortunately I saw Dr. Dre's more

I consider myself somewhat of a casual musician. I dabble on the guitar and bass and have even been in a few bands over the years. Last year, when I received my tax refund, the money was burning a hole in my pocket, so I decided to check out some new basses. I had a general idea of what I was looking for out of a new bass, and so I set out to see what was out there. I stopped by several other music stores and was neither impressed by the selection nor the service. I decided to drop by a Guitar Center to see what they had. The more

I went in to Guitar Center a few years back with a friend about thirty minutes before they were closing. There were very few associates around in the building. I'm guessing that most of them had already gone home or were preparing to. I was just browsing the entire store to see if there was anything that caught my attention. They had a nice selection of items, both new and used. Their pricing seemed to be a bit high on some things in regards to used items. I find that I can purchase used items online from other distributors for less money. Then I had an associate come up to more

For Christmas last year, my son wanted an acoustic guitar so badly. He had picked one out that was, well, a little much for him (he's only 9!). The salesclerk at Guitar Center was so nice and spent a ton of time with us, helping my son pick out a guitar that was good for a beginner, but still looked "cool." I honestly don't know where the man got his patience, but I'm glad he did! After a lot of rehearsal "music" and going back and forth, we finally ended up with one of his first suggestions. He even recommended private teacher for the kid through their own program! The more

Whenever my girlfriend goes clothes shopping I always make an effort to go in Guitar Center. She can spend hours and hours trying on clothes and picking out new outfits, while I spend that time playing the guitar and sometimes jamming with other patrons in the store as well. I can spend hours looking around at all the amazing equipment. I've always been a fan of music and instruments and this is like heaven to someone like me. The people working there are also very knowledgeable about all things musical instruments and will help you with what ever it is you're looking for. Overall Guitar center is a great place more

I love Guitar Center. It is literally a one stop shop for everything music. My sons and I all play instruments ranging from eletric guitars to drums to trumpets and whenever we need anything Guitar Center is the place to go. I recently purchased a new guitar there and the staff was incredibly helpful and knowledable. Their expertise was what guided me to the right guitar for my skillset and wallet! I can honestly say I have never had a negative thing to say about Guitar Center and I look forward to my next stop.

My boyfriend is an avid guitar player. A little bit before his birthday this year he wanted to go to the Guitar Center to look at guitars and pick up a few small supplies. Since we have two young children at home it is hard for him to find time to practice playing the guitar as loudly as he wants to and he had mentioned to me that he would like some headphones to use with his amp so that he could practice whenever he wants to, not just around the children's schedules. While he was browsing, I wandered off and found a Guitar Center employee in another part of more

Recently I decided to pick up the guitar again after several years of putting it off. After searching the web for where to pick up all the essentials such as a guitar, amp, strings, books, tuner etc. everything kept pointing me to one place and that was guitarcenter.com. Sure enough this site has everything you could want for whatever music needs you have. The prices are pretty impossible to beat as well. I was able to pick up a Les Paul electric guitar for $300 cheaper than I could find anywhere else. They are always running some type of sale which I always seem to find something I can't refuse. more

My experience with this store has taken part over many of the past years. Whenever I was in need of a new instrument (guitar, keyboard), I knew that Guitar Center was an upcoming trip I had to make. They also have a wide variety of accessories and equipment; I found a very cool Jimi Hendrix Wa Pedal, as well as another effects pedal. I always buy my guitar picks at Guitar Center as well. I have always been presented with great customer service in every visit. I usually go to the same store, so I am on a first-name basis with a lot of the employees. What I really love more
