Personal Injury Protection
Explanation:
A form of auto insurance coverage that reimburses the insured party for medical expenses, lost wages, and other expenses incurred as a result of an accident. Personal injury protection is a type of "no-fault" coverage, as it is provided no matter who was at fault.
Personal injury protection (PIP) is required in 15 states. It is not available in all states, and in many states medical payments insurance (MedPay), which provides similar coverage, is offered instead.
