These unusually attractive terms stand to save the average consumer as much as $1,000 in fees and finance charges. • Regular APR 15.99% (V)

  • Rewards Rate 1 - 2 points / $1
  • Rewards Bonus 40,000 points

While you might be able to find an initial bonus that offers more points/miles than the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, it’s hard to argue against this card being the best given the ultimate value and versatility of its rewards. The 40,000 bonus points you get after spending $4,000 during the first three months can be redeemed for a $400 statement credit, which is clearly more useful to the average consumer than a free flight or a couple of complimentary hotel nights. However, it’s important to note that you should only apply for this card if you would ordinarily spend $3,000 within a three-month period.

The Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite MasterCard is one of a select few offers providing consumers with the opportunity to earn a $400 initial rewards bonus, which itself provides a great deal of flexibility given that it can be applied to any travel-related expense. This card also follows the very successful Venture Card model, providing the miles equivalent of 2% cash back across all purchases as long as users redeem for travel. And the fact that this card does not charge an annual fee serves as the cherry on top of this attractive deal.

It does so by offering 0% interest until September 2016 and not charging an annual fee. While the Prestige Card doesn’t offer cash back, points, or miles, anyone who has used this card in conjunction with a credit card calculator to evade finance charges will tell you that it is plenty rewarding.

Journey® Student Rewards from Capital One®

For College Students

  • Purchase intro APR N/A
  • Transfer intro APR N/A
  • Regular APR 19.8% (V)
  • Annual Fee None
  • Rewards Rate 1 - 1.25% Cash Back
  • Rewards Bonus None

Best for College Students. Not only does the Capital One Journey Student Rewards Card offer straightforward, lucrative rewards without charging an annual fee, it also promotes good habits. You get a 25% rewards bonus each month you make an on-time payment, and getting in the habit of paying for what you spend early in your credit career will put you on the path to excellent credit as well as save you a lot of money in interest in the years to come (assuming you pay your bill in full as well as on time, which we highly recommend).

BankAmericard® for Students Credit Card

For College Students

  • Purchase intro APR 0% for 15 months
  • Transfer intro APR 0% for 15 months
    Transfer Fee: 3%
  • Regular APR 10.99% - 20.99% (V)
  • Annual Fee None
  • Rewards None

Best for College Students. It’s rare for a student credit card to offer terms comparable to the best credit cards on the market, but the 15-month 0% intro term that the Student BankAmericard provides on new purchases is only three months shorter than the longest 0% period on the market. This card is therefore a great option for students who will need additional time to pay off significant upcoming expenses. While the 0% rate applies to balance transfers as well, that’s not as notable as you might think given its 3% balance transfer fee and the fact that it’s hard for students to rack up enough credit card debt to warrant a balance transfer.

Best Partially Secured Card. The Capital One Secured MasterCard does not charge an annual fee and the fact that it can be a partially-secured card makes it quite an attractive option for many consumers. With a partially-secured credit card, your credit line may exceed the amount of your security deposit, thereby providing you with an emergency line of credit, if needed, and enabling you to maximize your available credit. The more credit you have available, the faster your credit standing will improve. The Capital One Secured MasterCard Credit Card is therefore an option that at least merits consideration if you have bad or limited credit.

Is credit standing the only factor to consider?

By: Odysseas Papadimitriou, CardHub CEO

If you can't get approved for a given credit card, it might as well not exist. Therefore, your credit standing dictates the credit card deals available to you and helps narrow your search. However, it's not the sole factor to be taken into consideration when searching for the best credit card deal. Credit cards are usually designed for specific purposes, and, as a result, the best deals on credit cards depend on what you plan to use your card for in addition to your credit standing.

How often do these credit card deals change?

By: Odysseas Papadimitriou, CardHub CEO

People often search for the best credit card deals 2011, implying a belief that these deals are static. However, credit card companies regularly change their offers, often altering rewards, interest rates and fees in the process. This means that the best credit card deals one month might not be the same as the next. As a result, our editors update this list whenever they find new deals.

What's the difference between credit card deals and credit card promotions?

By: John Kiernan, Personal Finance Editor

Credit card promotions, or credit card specials, are generally limited-time offers used by credit card companies to advertise special card features, such as an introductory 0% APR. While some of the best credit card deals stem from credit card promotions, others are categorized as good deals because of prominent yet permanent features. However, since these terms are so closely connected, they are often used interchangeably to describe top credit card offers.

I have always been a fan of the BankAmericard for Students card. The fact that it is a card designed by and for students already puts you at an advantage at a young age. There might not be any rewards, but there is also no annual fee.

I haven't used a lot of credit cards, but the Capital One Quicksilver card is the best one I have used. 18 months of 0% APR is what did it for me, with 1 percent cash back. It is one of the best choices i have made credit card wise. The Customer service is amazing, they have successfully discussed and solved all of my problems. This is one of the top cards on the market. I very much recommend it.

The Capital One Quicksilver card is one of the best cards out there. You'll start off with 0% APR for the first 18 months while getting 1.5% cash back on every purchase. This means you can buy as many things as you want and earn rewards while not accruing any interest whatsoever. It's like they're paying you to have this card and that's a great feeling. Capital One's customer service is also really friendly and helpful. They have been the best in customer service in my experience. When you look at all aspects, very few cards match up to the Capital One Quicksilver card. I highly recommend it.

I have used a lot of credit cards, and my favorite has been the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards card. I initially used this card to transfer over other high credit card debt because of the no interest introductory offer. Once I was able to pay down the transferred debt, I found myself using the card quite often. The card has a great interest rate and the rewards program is excellent. I get cash back on my purchases which are especially nice when it comes to fueling up my car. I drive a lot during the week, so the cashback offered by this card is perfect for me. I highly more

I really like my Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card it took me awhile to build my credit up enough to get it but now that I have it the rewards are great. I always pay it off on time so am not even concerned about the interest. All I care about is that I get good rewards and this one certainly gives them.

I have two credit cards: a secured credit card and a Quicksilver 1.5% cash back card, both through Capital One. I haven't had any customer service experiences with either, since I've never run into any issues with either. I love my Quicksilver card, though. The 1.5% cash back isn't too stellar, but it's definitely appreciated. If you use it more-or-less exclusively, you're definitely going to exceed its annual fee (which is quite high). It also came with about a year of 0% introductory APY, and you still earn cash back during that period. Definitely recommended if you don't have the greatest credit score, and Capital One often runs pre-approval promotions on it.

I am currently using Chase Freedom Card. From my personal experience with all the cards I have had in the past 5 years, this is by far the best one. You can get cash back on almost anything you buy, especially gas and up to 5%. The rates are really low and the cash back rates as well. On top of that the monthly minimum payments are low as well. There are no annual fees as well. It is a great card with many benefits.

The best on the market that I use is an AmEx Gold card. I got it originally as an extended line of credit from my father, but I've found it quite useful. The annual fee is reasonable, I get free benefits such as roadside assistance and rental car insurance. Every time that I need to speak to customer support, they are always willing to extend themselves for me in order to right anything that might have been wronged. I wish more places accepted AmEx!

The best card I know of has got to be the Discover IT card. It's a very versatile card with no annual fees, reasonable interest rates, and a flexible cash back program, so it's perfect for just about anybody, I think. Plus, Discover's customer service is so great, they're always very helpful and kind when I have a question.

I have the Quicksilver and the student cash rewards cards (for a time). No annual fees and normally you get 1.5% back. I made all Christmas related purchases and I don't normally do Christmas. This year I expect to get somewhere between $300-400 back.

My favorite card is easily the Platinum Prestige from Capital One. It has a lot of great bonus features and offers an intro APR that is pretty much impossible to beat. I used it to transfer a balance from a previous card to 0% and just for that - I love this card! I like being able to see what my credit score is (in real-time) , the auto rental insurance, and the roadside assistance. There's no way to go wrong with this one.

My favorite card is the Barclay Arrival Plus credit card. This card offers a great bonus and also offers double points on every purchase no matter the category. The best part is that you can use your points on ANY travel related purchase as a statement credit. That's any airline, any hotel, ect... I highly recommend this card for anyone that travels.

The best credit card is the Platinum American Express. The customer service and rewards points program is by far the best I've ever experienced. I love being able to convert points to miles on whatever airline I chose. I also appreciate how they monitor spending and catch any fradulant charges immediately. They have on several occasions notified me of fraudalant activity on my card and sent a new card within 24 hours to my home. I highly recommend this card!

My favorite card is the Amazon Visa Rewards card. Using it to pay for and renew Prime, and to give a good percentage back on my purchases. The card offers better return on spending for gas and groceries as well as any other card I've used. It's a great all around card that's useful in every situation, but especially useful since I shop on Amazon so much. Using it for auto-renewal items makes it an even better deal.

I personally use the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card because of the 1% cash back. I have never had any trouble with fees or penalties and can use the can back as a plus. This really is my favorite credit card just because of that. It doesn't have any annual fees as well as provides the cash back perk. My other card only has no annual fees. This is why this card is clearly my favorite of the two I own. I try to use it for a majority of my purchases just because of that. That is why I would recommend it to anyone looking.

I have used a lot of credit cards and my favorite is easily my Amazon.com card through Chase. It was very easy to get. There is no annual fee. And when you sign up they give you $50 in amazon credit. The interest rate is market competitive. The reward points are very generous....3x points on all amazon purchases, 2x on food and gas, and 1x points on everything else.

The best credit card I use is my capital one card. I love the rewards I get with it and it is always easy to redeem them. When I call customer service is always prompt in getting my needs met. I use this card for at least 75% of my purchases, and I feel safe using it on-line with the awesome fraud protection features. Overall Capital One is a great credit card company to use.

The best credit card for you probably depends on what benefits you want most out of the card. The best card I know about is amazon's own card. If you're like me and do all of your shopping at amazon, the savings add up. There's no annual fee and the rates are what you would expect from a retailer card and will vary based on market. Either way, the rewards card is great since everything gives you a percentage back on purchases made anywhere.

My wife and I both have our own Capital One platinum prestige cards. We were fortunate enough to also be awarded 13% APR and although there are no rewards, the benefit of no annual fee is a better bargain to me. It is a very persistent card and I have had it since 2008. I love this card because the monthly required payment amount is of medium weight and there isn’t much interest to be charged.

I think the best credit card, especially for those just starting out (students, young adults, etc) is definitely the Discover It card. You could say it has that "it" factor! No annual fees, which for me is hugely important. I won't even consider a card that charges an annual fee, and I'd encourage you not to as well. The general lack of fees coupled with reasonable interest rates, tremendous customer service, generous fraud liability protection and a great reward program skyrocket this card to the top of my charts. Another close contender, however, is Amazon's credit card, which may even be better IF you shop at Amazon a lot, like more

As a another college student, I would argue that the best credit card to use is the My One card from Capital One. This card allows me to retrieve my refund quickly and it also has a 1% cash back benefit. Customer service is decent but the representatives are always available for students. Their website and consulting services provide knowledge about credit and responsibility and similarly, scholarships are provided by their intuition. Another benefit is the fact that there is no annual fee and you can receive one just for being a student. Recipients must be responsible. It is a very rewarding card for responsible students.

As a college student the best credit card for myself is the Journey Student Rewards from Capital One. This card has competitive interest rates and they allow for 1% cash back. Their customer service is great, they are very patient with students, like myself, who do not have very much knowledge about how credit cards work. This is a great card for students to start building credit. There is no annual fee and they do not require you to have perfect credit to apply. This card has helped me build a good base credit while still in school. As long as you responsible this will be a great card for you.

Chase Slate is my pick for the best card and these are some of the reasons why. I mean what can I say I have had this card for a while and all I can say is, this card has never let me down. I mean everyone knows about the amazing ARP and the 0% intro rate, but its the other things that make this card great. Like the max late fee is only 35.00, the mobile apps, and the easy application process. I have several credit cards, but by far my most often used and enjoyed is my Chase Amazon.com credit card. I was approved in seconds, and upon signing up received a $50 amazon gift card instantly. I was given a generous credit line and a decent interest rate, and no annual fee. The best perk of this card is the reward points feature. 3x points on all amazon purchases, which can add up quickly if you shop on Amazon regularly. I have a Capital One Quick Silver card, I have had it for about 18 months now. It is the best card ever, I get 1.5% back for all my purchases, which I have set up that when it gets $50 in it it is applied as a credit to my card. I really believe the annual fee of $39 is real cheap as some of my friends with other cards are paying 70-80 per year. The first six months there was no interest on it at all.

The best credit card is the Discover IT card. They had a sign up bonus for a $75 Amazon gift card if you sign up through the Amazon website. There is no annual fee and so far I'm loving the card. Right now they have a promotion going on where you earn 5% cash back on all purchases. Normally, the cash back is only 1% so this 5% is a really good deal. They have this promotion going on until about the end of September.

I prefer my credit card, which is a Visa through my bank of over 20 years. I accumulate a 2% cash back on all my purchases and I can call and have the credits applied to my balance whenever I have at least $20 in point accumulated. They make it easy to accumulate point since I don't have to think about what I'm purchasing and if it falls whithin the realms of a special offer. And I don't have to wait for a certain date to apply my credits toward my balance or I can choose to have them send me a check. This is my kind of card.
