The only way to reload your AccountNow Mastercard with a credit card is by taking out a cash advance and then loading the funds to your prepaid account at a retail location. This method is too expensive to be worthwhile, as you'd have to pay a fee for both the advance and the retail reload. On top of that, interest would immediately begin to accrue at a very high rate on the amount of your withdrawal from the credit card.
Unfortunately, we do not have access to specific account information, but you can find out by calling AccountNow customer service at 866-925-2036. Sorry we couldn't be of more help.

I really do not like this card. It has a $10.00 fee plus I always have problems using the card. Every time I use it, I am fined a fee and I have to go through a pen transaction fee just to use it. I cannot even go to an ATM without being fined. I have had charges that were bogus charges and when I told customer service about the charges, they told me that they would fix it and remove the fee, but after getting off the phone with them they had charged me a dollar, and after getting off the phone a second time I was recharged for a third time. The only thing that I like about this card is that there is no monthly fee and that is has an instant account number. I also hate that I had to fax my information just to activate the card. I hardly ever use the card because of the $10.00 monthly fee and because of the horrible customer service.

I don't like that there is a $1.00 charge per transaction. You're spending your money to use this card. Yes it's convenient and is not attached to a bank account which helps prevent identity theft and overdrafts but you should not have to pay to use the card. The ATM fee is also pretty pricey. However there is only one ATM fee where with a bank account you pay the ATM fee plus the bank charges you a fee. It's nice that there is easy reload options and no cancellation of inactivity fee. I think that this is a good option if you don't have any other option. If you do have another option I would go with a cheaper fee option.

I applied for the Account Now prepaid card about two years ago. At first it was ok then I realized I didn't have to pay a bunch of fees just to have a prepaid card. After doing some research and finding some other prepaid cards that didn't have so many fees attached to them, I decided (after about six months of using this card) to close the account. The fees on this card are bad, they charge you every time you use it. There are other prepaid cards out there that don't charge fees every time you use them. If you don't want to throw away your money on fees I would not recommend this card.

I've had my Account Now prepaid Mastercard for about six months now, and there are a couple of problems that I have run in to. First off, they charge one dollar every time you use it at a store or business. Personally I think that is the biggest rip-off that I've come across. I could understand a quarter, or thirty cents, but a whole dollar is a bit extreme. This has become more of an inconvenience for me than any other. There was a four dollar and ninety five cent activation charge, and I haven't noticed a monthly fee that was established. There is also a two dollar and fifty cent ATM withdrawal fee on top of the dollar charge for using the card. In other words, this card has an enormous amount of fee that do nothing but hurt you in the long run.

So AccountNow has two prepaid cards, a MasterCard and a Visa. The Visa isn’t a very good option because it has a very high monthly load requirement ($2,500) to avoid the nearly $10 monthly fee, you have to pay almost two bucks every time you want to withdraw cash from an ATM, and you have to pay out the you know what if you want to close you account. As far as the AccountNow Prepaid MasterCard is concerned, well, let’s put it under the microscope.
Your goal in comparing prepaid cards should be to find the least expensive option for your needs and lifestyle. That means fees should be your top concern (I mean, you’re not going to get much in the way of rewards or anything like that). Well, the Prepaid AccountNow MasterCard doesn’t charge for activation, which is good, but that’s basically where the benefits end. If you got this card, you’d have to pay $9.95 per month, $2.50 for each ATM withdrawal, $0.50 - $1.00 for customer service if you don’t sign up for direct deposit. You also have to pay $15.95 to get a check that will bring your account balance to zero once you close your account.
The AccountNow Prepaid MasterCard is therefore even worse than the Visa because you don’t even have the option to avoid the monthly fee. As far as alternatives are concerned, I’d take a look at the GreenDot Prepaid Card, the American Express Prepaid Card, or Chase’s Liquid Card. All can be very inexpensive if used right. The Green Dot will cost you nothing if your directly deposit $1,000 each month and use Green Dot ATMs, the Amex Card is the same if you only make one ATM withdrawal per month, and the Liquid Card costs $4.95 per month but gives you the ability to load money for free at Chase bank branches and withdraw cash for free at Chase ATMs.
