No, the OneMain Financial BrightWay Card is not a good first-time credit card because it is only available to people with fair credit or better. People who've never owned a credit card are unlikely to get approved unless they've built fair credit through other means. There are plenty of good first-time credit cards on the market, though.
Applicants can check their OneMain Financial BrightWay Card application status by calling 1 (866) 207-9130. When you call, you'll need to provide the required information so that WebBank can match you to your application. WebBank does not allow you to check your application status online.
How to Check Your OneMain Financial BrightWay Card Application Status
The OneMain Financial BrightWay Card does not allow balance transfers. In general, balance transfers let you to shift high-interest debt from your current account to another issuer's credit card and pay off the balance, presumably at a reduced interest rate.
OneMain Financial BrightWay Card rewards do not expire as long as your account is open and in good standing. You will forfeit any rewards you have yet to redeem if you or WebBank closes your OneMain Financial BrightWay Card account for any reason.
Similarly, WebBank will cancel any existing rewards if you're late making the minimum payment.
The OneMain Financial BrightWay Card minimum payment is $25 or 1% of the statement balance, plus fees, past-due amounts, and interest – whichever is higher. In addition, if you recently missed a payment, WebBank may add a late fee to your minimum payment.
The minimum payment is the smallest amount you're required to pay by the due date to...

Yes, the OneMain Financial BrightWay Card reports to the credit bureaus every month, within days after the cardholder's billing period closes. WebBank reports the card's credit limit, account balance, and payment history to all three of the major credit bureaus: Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax.

A concierge acts like an on-demand personal assistant for cardholders, able to help with nearly anything, from travel and purchase assistance to directions and restaurant reservations. Although OneMain Financial BrightWay Card does not offer concierge service, plenty of other...
The best OneMain Financial BrightWay Card benefits are zero fraud liability and a possible APR decrease in six months. These perks are certainly good to have, though it's important to note that they're also relatively common credit card benefits.
The OneMain Financial BrightWay Card does not currently have a sign-up bonus, though it does give ongoing rewards of 1% on all purchases. The OneMain Financial BrightWay Card offers 1% cash back on all purchases if you keep making 6 consecutive on-time payments.
If you're in the market for an initial bonus, you can compare the best credit card sign-up bonuses from other cards, picked by WalletHub's editors. But keep in mind that rewards bonuses are just one of the many things to consider when deciding which credit card you should get.

Im so disappointed! I paid my 6th payment & was super excited about the reward because my husband got a $1500 increase & our credit is very similar. I pay everything on time, don’t carry a big balance and paid more than what was due. In short, I did everything right. Guess what they gave me $100. Yep! 100 freaking dollars for doing everything right! I called to ask why & they had no answer. It’s just disgusting that someone can do what they are supposed to do, to keep their credit good but when it comes time to get rewards BrightWay offers as a selling point to get the card, this is what you get!

Not worth it...I applied and was approved with no issues. However, I never received the card and couldn't access the account online or through the app. It turned out I would never be able to access the account because the email used was also associated with my husband's loan. I got an email saying my payment was four weeks late, so I called to follow up on this. The first representative I spoke to was not helpful and said he couldn't find any account for me (I am hoping he is new and still in training, otherwise they would need to reevaluate his employment). I then told him there had to be one, as per the email I received, at which point he transferred me to customer service. There, I went through all the prompts and finally connected with a representative named Terrell. Thankfully, he was much more helpful and was able to find the account. He saw I had a balance—this was the annual fee for a card that I never received and he could see was never activated or used. He attempted to help me log into the mobile app, which, as I had told him, wasn't working for me, and again it was proven that I wasn't able to gain access to the account. I told him I guessed I would just pay the fee and cancel the card. He then said he could cancel the card for me and I would not have to pay the fee since it was an annual fee and not for anything that I had charged. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that what Terrell said was, in fact, true and they will remove those charges and close the account.

Worst card ever! Run from these people. I had the card for six months and on the fifth month, close to the due date, I notified them that I was in the hospital for heart surgery. Yes, heart surgery! I missed the payment date but never went 30 days late. When I came out of the hospital, in good faith, I paid off the balance. The late fee was reversed as well. The representative told me that after making the payment, funds would be available the next day because it would post the same day as the payment. The next day comes, everything updates in the system, and they tell me there's a 7-day hold because of bad payment history and other factors. They said that is the policy, so I went back and read every word in the disclosures sent to me; nothing about a 7-day hold! These people are rude and have appalling business ethics. It's a deplorable company. My goal is to get them shut down.

I had moved and lost my card. I reported it lost and they said they would issue me a new one. I never received the card. Now I have to jump through hoops to get my card sent. They want everything but my kitchen door. Ridiculous!

If you are desperate, then by all means, apply! The culture (customer services) is the absolute worst! Everyone who picks up the phone is just as bad as the previous agent. You're lied to, provided misinformation, and worse, they allow a third-party company called Chargeback Credit Services to handle all card disputes! Terrible experience!

We had a customer this evening that attempted to use a card through your institution. 1 1/2 hours later and 7 attempts, we give up. I advised him to cut the card up and throw it in the trash. Your policy of not remaining on the phone until the issue resolved after 6 attempts is beyond ridiculous. Would not recommend.

This is a great card! I finally got to the 6th month and you have to wait to wait till the start of the next billing cycle for your reward of lower interest fee or higher credit limit. That part was disappointing. The app works great except it does take 4-6 days at least for your payment to process.
