The
Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards for Good Credit card is a good credit card for people with good credit whose biggest spending categories include dining, entertainment, streaming services and groceries, and it’s especially worthwhile if you’re comfortable booking hotels, rental cars and event tickets through Capital One. Those purchases will get you the best rewards.
This card also has a
$0 annual fee, so it will save you money as long as you pay the bill in full each month. A low interest rate is not among the
SavorOne for Good Credit card’s attributes.
SavorOne for Good Credit Review Highlights
8% cash back with Capital One EntertainmentIf you can find tickets to your favorite concerts and sporting events on the Capital One Entertainment portal for the same price other sellers like Ticketmaster are charging, you might as well go with the option that will give you 8% cash back.
5% cash back with Capital One TravelYou can book hotels and rental cars through the Capital One Travel portal and save 5% with rewards. Just make sure you’re not overpaying by 5% or more by booking through Capital One Travel in the first place.
3% cash back on dining, entertainment and moreThis is the most important part of the offer. Cardholders earn 3% cash back on purchases categorized as dining or entertainment, as well as 3% back on select streaming services and grocery store purchases.
Superstores like Walmart and Target don’t count as grocery stores, unfortunately, and Prime Video, audiobook subscriptions and fitness content don’t count for the streaming service category. When it comes to dining and entertainment, the exclusions are for purchases at places like golf courses, country clubs and charities that provide live entertainment, which are not categorized as being dining or entertainment-related.
The usual things you’d assume count as dining and entertainment will indeed get you bonus rewards, though. Plus, you can now get 10% cash back on purchases made through Uber & Uber Eats through 11/14/2024.
1% cash back on all other purchasesNearly all credit cards with cash back rewards offer 1% back as a base earning rate, so this doesn’t do much to distinguish the
Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards for Good Credit offer from the pack.
Rewards don’t expire as long as your account is openThis sure beats cards that will revoke your rewards because a certain amount of time has passed or you pay the bill late one month. Just make sure to redeem any unused rewards before closing your account.
$0 annual feeNot having to pay an annual fee is better than the alternative, all else being equal, and it will save you
$22.29 per year compared to the average credit card offer. The question you have to ask yourself is whether you could save more at the end of the day with a card that charges a fee but offers even better rewards.
29.99% (V) APRCarrying a balance from month to month with this card is not advised, given its high interest rate. The average APR among credit card offers for people with good credit is
24.12%. Fortunately, paying your bill in full every month will prevent interest charges from accruing, saving your rewards from being wiped out.
Good credit neededYou need a credit score of
700 or higher to have good odds of being approved for the
