I got automatically upgraded to the Target Mastercard without my permission (as far as I know, they won’t provide documentation either way) and they will not reverse it because “their system does not allow it”. Unfortunately it’s one of my oldest lines of credit so closing it would negatively impact my score. This is a complete scam to try to get people to spend more. If you actually get the letter they all apparently send saying they’re going to update you (I never received it) I advise to opt out.

While the Target Mastercard racks up points that SUPPOSEDLY can be redeemed by receiving a gift card from them-they NEVER ACTUALLY give you the point credit [gift card]!! I have tried to have them email it-they say the email will come in 3-5 days-it NEVER arrives [not even in Spam or Trash folders] -I've tried asking them to US mail the gift card for the point money I earned -it NEVER came!! Once you hit that button on their site-they deduct the amount you are trying to redeem-BUT THEY NEVER ACTUALLY SEND THE GIFT CARD! They send me emails saying I have $15.00 etc. to cash-BUT THEY NEVER PAY!!! As a result, I STOPPED using the Target Mastercard and stick to my Chase cards since they REALLY DO pay me the rewards I have earned. To me, they are practicing False advertisement by saying you earn rewards that can be redeemed in gift cards, but then NEVER send the cards-SO I wonder WHO is REALLY cashing my Gift cards they say they have sent!?!

The card is great for use at Target and I recommend taking it with you if you travel internationally. Most cards are CHIP+Signature, but this is CHIP+PIN, which some terminals require internationally. If memory serves, there is also no FTF. The rewards outside Target are so-so. You can't directly apply for this card, you apply for a REDcard store card and responsible credit management and using your REDcard eventually sees most people upgraded (I've never seen TD upgrade cardholders to the non-store version in less that 2 years).

It’s a pretty good card I like the cash back with the interest rate is high. The cash back usually illuminates the interest. I would recommend

I am quite DISAPPOINTED hadn’ used my Target Visa for a long time and needed a new card sent to me. This is what I have experienced thus far 1. When I made my payment I followed the phone process to get a replacement card at the end it said it would be 10 + days for it to arrive. I needed it faster than that so 2 I spoke to a representative who assured me the card would be here Tuesday (ordered it on Thursday) 3 waited until Wednesday night still no card called customer service again got a told that i shouldnt have been told that (imagine that) i asked them several times during this conversation to FedX me a card finally saying “do you not have the ability to send a card priority? Finally he agreed to ship a new card FedX for $15.said it would be here Monday 4. Guess what ...Monday night still NO CARD when I called back they offered me a UPS tracking number had to talk to a supervisor to even get them to use the tracking number and left me with ANOTHER BS PROMISE it would be here tomorrow morning. I asked them to refund the $15 they refused in the mean-time Im paying the repair shop 24 dollars a day to hold on to my car. I AM FRUSTRATED the lack of customer service and lack of accountability this card service has provided its sad

I just cancelled my Target credit card after 20+ years because of similar. Activating a wrong card. Getting 7 people in one 55 min call when replacement card was ‘invalid’ for an online purchase. Asking for a local U.S. based supervisor got me sent around to more international ‘reps’ until I said I want to cancel NOW. I got a nice lady I spoke to a few weeks earlier (local) but by then there was no turning back. I’m done with a company that can’t give me people who can and will help. I had card since it was a mervyns account in late 80’s. While it’s good to have a long term account, there are way too many companies out there than to have to deal with this. They lost a very long term customer. Maybe they’ll get a clue.

I've gotten the Target Credit Card because of the fact that I shop at Target so much. I used to get prompted a lot to open a card, mostly because i shop at the same Target and they know me. I finally took them up on the offer because i spend so much money on them weekly, and i might as well get rewards from it. I enjoy using the card because i get % off my shops when i use the card, and i love saving money! It just allows me to repeat business with them.

This is a good and easy to use card. I have had the card for a few years and the only issue I had was quickly resolved by customer service. I have no complaints.

At one time I had the Target Credit card. I generally try to be pretty cautious with credit cards since it is easy to run up a bill on them. Anyways, the customer service was great, and I really liked being able to go into any Target store and make payments, or I had the options to pay online. At the time I didn't like the interest rates though. They seemed to be a bit high to me. This isn't a problem if you can keep up on payments though. Overall I was pretty satisfied with the card and service.
