Around Christmas time, as stores offer deals and vie for consumer attention and people are waiting in lines, there are a lot of opportunities to get store credit cards. You shouldn’t apply for these cards left and right though, particularly since applying for a bunch of cards in a short period of time will hurt your credit score and the more cards you have, the less of a chance you’ll have to get the most value from them. Whew, that seems like a lot, and it is…if you already like and shop at American Eagle a lot. There are a lot of other store affiliated credit card options out there, and whether they are better than the AE Credit Card depends more on your shopping habits than their particular offers. Some credit cards to keep in mind are the Chase Sapphire Preferred, highlighted by a $500 initial rewards bonus, and the Citi Simplicity Credit Card, which offers 0% on purchases and transfers for 21 months. Again, the direction in which you decide to go in terms of the American Eagle Outfitters Credit Card or any substitutes depends on your spending habits and financial needs.
