This is my longest credit card... I have had no problem with the card itself or Barclays. The only thing that prevents me from using this card on a regular basis is the CL..: it is low compared to other cards in my wallet and Barclays rarely increases it!

I got the Barclaycard Arrival MasterCard because of an upcoming trip to the UK and it was the only card that I could find at the time that offered both the chip-and-signature and chip-and-pin smart chip features. From my understanding, in the UK chip-and-pin is more widely used than here in the US. Add to that the no foreign transaction fees and the rewards program including the bonus miles that you get just for using the card and I was sold! I actually use this card for just about all my purchases now because the miles program is so awesome. The security and identity protection that comes with this card is really good, sometimes a little too good. A couple of times when making purchases out of state, the card was flagged as having suspicious activity and I had to call customer support to verify my identity and have the card turned back on. It was a minor annoyance, but it's good to know they have my back. The customer service was fast and helpful each time that I called. I highly recommend this card if you plan on traveling to Europe or just need a good solid credit card.

Despite their advertising, there are foreign transaction fees. From the Cardmember Agreement: "We and MasterCard will convert transactions in foreign currencies into U.S. Dollars. MasterCard will use their currency conversion procedures that are current at the time of the transaction. Currently, the currency conversion rate they use is either the wholesale maket rate or the government mandated rate in effect under those procedures, increased by one percent." In addition, this is not a chip card.

I have had my Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard for about 6 months now and I have been very pleased with the card.
Pro: - 0% APR on purchases for the first 12 months so acts like interest-free financing for a year; - no foreign transaction cost which is a big thing for me. Why would anyone want to pay 2.7%-3% on transactions made abroad? - Great option to redeem reward as credit towards travel expenses which include my subway purchases - Informative website design and easy to navigate, plus free credit report - No annual fee!
Con: - Depends on where you travel to, MasterCard may not be as widely accepted as Visa - Reward amount (1 mile per $1 of purchase/2 miles per $1 of travel & dinning purchases) are not great, but I think it's competitive for a card with no annual fee

I have been very pleased with my Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard. I just opened the card a few months ago after doing a great deal of research. The number one thing with the Barclaycard that appealed to me was that I would earn 20,000 bonuses miles after spending $1,000 on purchases in my first 90 days of having the card. I am an avid traveler, and I fly often for both business and pleasure. I easily rack up over a $1,000 in credit card charges each month so I knew that I would get the 20,000 miles I was looking to get for my next trip I’d planned to the Caribbean.
Additionally, a lot of my credit card charges are for travel and dining, which I earn two times the miles when I use this card. The miles also don’t expire which is great! I would always run into that problem with past cards so it is especially nice to know that I don’t have to worry about this when using the Barclaycard. I am a strong believer that rewards are an important part of a credit card. I have other credit cards that offer cash back rewards, flight and travel rewards, gas rewards, and shopping rewards, but my rewards seem to add up much more quickly on the Barclaycard because at minimum you earn a mile for every dollar you spend, which is pretty good. I am certainly more motivated to a credit card where I know I will earn points towards travel, airfare, gift cards, dining out, and shopping. It also great to know that I can earn cash. I think this is what makes a card special and sets it apart from others.
Furthermore, I was pleased by the fact that there is no foreign transaction fee because I travel abroad quite a bit. The 0% A.P.R. introductory rate on balance transfers and purchases for the first 12 months was also especially appealing. I ended up transferring a large balance from another one of my cards so that I could pay it down in a more affordable fashion.
I’ve also found that the customer service on this card is very good. As a new cardholder, I have talked to customer service at length with various questions that I’ve had about the details of the rewards program. I’ve never had to wait too long to get through to a live representative, which is huge in the days of automated responses and pre-recorded messages. I was also given a great deal of information about fraud and theft protection. I have experienced credit card theft before, and I was worried about this. The Barclaycard representative made me feel that my card was safe and secure, and should any problems arise, I was in good hands.
Finally, I was almost instantly approved for this card. I do have good to excellent credit, but I was still please at how fast my application was processed and approved. This is always helpful when you want to start using the new card as soon as possible!

I love using my Barclaycard World MasterCard for ALL of my expenses. The points add up extremely fast, and I can use my points to credit previous travel expenses. When you do that, you get 10% of your miles back, which is a no-brainer if you have any travel expenses at all.
