Anonymous User: American Express always treats me right when it comes to a business card. I currently work at a small business where I am in charge of expense reports, and American Express Blue For Business makes it a breeze. I love how we can have individual cards for each person, and set spending limits for each card. Some people cannot have a limit because the purchase so much stuff, so it's nice that I can manage that on a per card basis. Also, the way AMEX does the reports each month is great, I can see breakdowns for each person which means I'm typing line items into an excel spreadsheet anymore and trying to organize them based off everyone's reports. Since there is more activity with a small business than a personal account, I have had to report missing cards and have them replaced. Since every hard colder has their own unique number, it didn't effect our other employees and having to reset things such as auto payments that have been set up with other cards.

Anonymous User: American Express seems to know what they are doing when it comes to business. I've been using the Business Platinum Card® from American Express for some time now, and it has to be the best by far for the businessman or owner and business traveler. Many many perks are packed into this card. It has two distinct features which expand to cover both membership reward points and travel benefits. The flight benefits are incredible. With this card I am always able to relax in the private lounges at the airport between flights. On many flights I can get back a credit for checked luggage and free in-flight refreshments. With business matters you can issue cards to your employees with pre-set limits, What is also great is at the end of the year, you get an excellent summary of all tax deductible purchases made through out the year which simplifies accounting. For me this is the card to have.

Travis A Chapman: I own a small business that does sub contracting for the State of California, and about a few years ago I ended up getting a new business card because I was in the market for one. I came across the Capital One Spark business card after some friends had recommended it, and after reading some reviews online, I was more than confident in making my decision. There was no hassle in signing up (the process took maybe 30 minutes of my time), and once I was approved, I was on my way. I really enjoyed the no annual fee for the first year, and even after that the annual fee was quite modest. 2% back is quite amazing if you purchase a lot of things (which we do), so it all adds up quite fast. The biggest thing that sold me was getting $100 back for spending $1,000 in the first three months (like I said, we buy a lot of stuff). To me that was just the icing on the cake, and I would recommend this card to any business owner.

David Kauffman: At my small business I work at they use the Capital One Spark Cash for Business card. They like it because for the first year there was no annual fee, and after that it's $59. But so many purchases go through the card they feel like they more than make up for the annual fee with the 2% they get back in rewards as their base. You can also get individual cards for employees and generate spending reports for each one which is nice. Each month they give me a report of all the purchases I made, and then I simply attach my receipts for my expense report.

Gregory Hays: The American Express Blue For Business card is one of the best cards you can get for a business. One of the two deciding factors for me were how they handle fraud detection, I can get email alerts every time a card is charged but not swiped, and be more aware of all employee spending which is a nice perk for me. The other factor is that I can get multiple cards for each employee with their spending separated by card number on the monthly statement, so I can see exactly who is spending what. I've used cards in the past where everyone's expenses were under one big list, and it made doing monthly expense reports a bigger hassle than it ever should be.

Jimmy Postier Jr.: I have had the Capital One SparkSM Cash for Business for several months now and it is the best card I’ve ever used for a business. I really dislike annual fees, but it is well worth it in this case because I make it back so easily. My business makes many different smaller purchases throughout the day so I end up getting 2% back of every single purchase. This really adds up in just one day and I end up making a lot of money by spending money, which is amazing. I signed up 3 other credit cards under the account and ended up getting $50 cash back for each of them. You don’t even have to use the cards to get the reward; you only have to sign up. I’ve never had any problems dealing with customer service and I hope this card keeps satisfying my needs until the next best card comes along.

Andrew Mozeleski: I recently got a new job at a small business. I was given the Capital One Spark Card for business. I highly recommend this card for any small business. 2% cash back on all purchases is great and adds up really fast. Last week, I needed to make a big purchase, $4000. I called ahead of time to make sure that it would go through. Customer Service was fast and easy. I was connected to a representative almost instantly and my issue was dealt with within a few minutes. The annual fee is $59 but I easily make this up with the cash back I receive within a few months. I have had few business cards in my lifetime and I think this is the best credit card for a small business that is available.

Lori McEntire: As a small business owner the credit card that is my favorite is the Spark Cash Business Credit Card through Capital One. The first year with no annual fee was really helpful to a new business just getting off it's feet. The low annual fee afterwards is still affordable. The biggest reason I love this card is for the cashback. I get two percent cash back on everything I buy, any time, any where, and those rewards never expire so I can save them up for when I really need them! I can tell you they've really come in handy on a time or two when we needed something for the business urgently.

Bob Hanson: To me the card that has helped my business the most is the Citi Simplicity Card. I am self-employed and occasionally need addition cash flow to keep my inventory well stocked. The generous credit limit plus the fact that it is interest free for 18 months made this card a no-brainer. It also nice to know that it has great initial balance transfer option if that is something you may need. The lack of an annual fee is something I'd like to see on more business type cards. Overall, I am very pleased with this card and would recommend it to most people.

Anonymous User: My favorite business card is the classic American Express green card. This card has been the standard for businessmen and travelers for years, and it continues to offer the best service for these types of users. Accepted around the world, it is simply a token of a true businessman over a hack, to some extent. I always feel a little more professional pulling that card out over my other credit cards, in almost any situation. Obviously, without a rotating balance, it is not meant for casual use or buying things you can’t really afford, but that’s part of the professional aspect of it. The Amex says that you CAN afford what you’re buying, you are just choosing to put it on a card. That means something.

The rewards when used it are absolutely great, the best that I have ever encountered while searching for good reward cards for business. I have only had a few minor issues, which were all swiftly resolved over the phone. It's really important to be able to resolve these things so fast. I really like the brand too, I trust american express and have had good experiences with them with my personal credit cards too. All in all it is a great card and I think it is worthwhile if you qualify and you are a start up business that needs a good credit card.

Stephen Samuels: The best business credit card I know has to be the simply cash American Express Card. American Express has second to none customer service. They basically operate as you do your part and we'll make sure we do ours. This is great when you are trying to operate a business and don't really want to or have time to worry about the business credit cards. Their dealings with business is top notch and the rewards associated with the card are a great plus. When it comes to my business cards the less I have to think and worry about the card the better, and so I recommend American Express all the way.

Mike Van de Water: One thing is for certain when you own a business, you need access to a good credit card. The unforeseen is commonplace in business, and having a good business card will really help. That's why my business uses the Capital One Spark card. They have a very good rate, and lots of perks. We got $100 for spending $1000 in the first three months of the card, which was simple. My employees got their own cards, which I am able to monitor and modify as needed. Now we use the card for almost all business expenses, which really helps out when it's time to do the books! I would recommend this card to anybody who has a smallish business and is looking for a little help.

Anonymous User: I would have to say that the best credit card for small business owners would have to be the American express blue credit card. It has all the bells and whistles one might expect from a business credit card. Rewards, decent rates and all of that. The card also provides you with the ability to issue cards to your employees and view statements from them as well. The customer service has always been top notch with american express. This card is great if you run a small business and need a credit card for you and your employees. Definitely check this card out you won't be disappointed.

Alex Thomas: I have owned a small business for a few years, and employee three other employees aside from myself. The best credit card for businesses that I have had is the Capital One Spark Cash card for businesses. I like the rewards program that comes with it, and it certainly helps to get a little back as a small, struggling business is this economy. I get 2% cash back on every purchase that we make as a business, but the best hing was the $100 bonus for spending $1,000 in the first three months. I got another $50 just for getting another card for one of my workers. I have everything set up for automatic redemption of rewards, so the business bank account gets the money as I soon as I qualify for a reward. This is only the second card our business has had, but from the experience I have, it is certainly the best!

Anonymous User: As a small online business owner, I have found that there are indeed many good business cards available, but as one would expect some are better than others. Slate from Chase is the one card I prefer, it has served me and my business well over the years. One of the nicest advantages to this card is that there is no balance transfer fees, ever! Another great advantage is that Chase offers no interest on purchases for a little over the first year. The interest rate is very competitive and customer service is always friendly and upfront. I highly recommend this card as a way to make business purchases easier and more cost effective.

Chelee McKenna: The Bank of America Business Rewards Card is the best credit card for your small business. My husband is an employee of his dad’s business and they use this card. It is really easy to use, like most credit cards, but you get rewards like cash, gift cards, anything you want really. It is really great for cashing in for something to reward your employees with or you can redeem your points for cash to put back towards something for the business. We have had a couple issues when we have had to go to the bank to check balances or pay the bill for the card because we are not the main name listed on the account. But that has been figured out so we just have to tell them to check the notes page, which while it seems like a hassle and an extra step it is much better than what we were dealing with. I feel that they dealt with the issue to my satisfaction and everything is great now.

Loredana Magie: Being honest, I’ve tried many credit cards before, but most of them made me unwanted surprises. I didn’t exactly know what should I do, especially because my job requested me to have such a credit card. One of my co-workers told me something about Citi Simplicity Card and I made me very curious about it. I called the customer service and they were very nice with me, very polite and respectful. They seemed prepared to fulfill all my wishes about this. So I decided to purchase Citi Simplicity Card and give it a try. I have to be honest and tell you that I was very satisfied with it, because I could pay all my bills and anything else on time, avoiding causing myself any kind of trouble. I would not use another credit card, because this one provides me many facilities and giving it up would automatically mean giving up the only credit card which satisfied all my needs.

Rex Ratanadilok: I just got the slate card from Chase recently for my business. I trust Chase because I also bank with them. The rate is extremely good being at 11.9% APR and on top of that I got a introductory APR of 0% for the first 15 months. This helps me tremendously because I can place merchandise in my store and not have my distributors with net 30 accounts charge me a unreasonable interest on my balances. I have to give this card my approval hands down as the best card there is for business purposes. It also offered me introductory balance transfers that far exceeded the competition, but I did not need to use them.

Frank Papageorgio: When it comes to the best card for businesses I have to go with the American Express Blue for Business card. Not so much because of the interest rate or the rewards, but the features that make it work best for managing my small business. I like being able to assign cards per employee, and then getting a statement with each employees name and their purchases. I also get account alerts when things happen such as if the card is charged without being physically there to prevent things like fraudulent transactions early. And on top of that, American Express has been great with helping me when employees lose their card and protecting us against fraud. If you go for another card because of a slight bonus in points or cash back, you might be paying for it later with the inconveniences of trying to manage your account. So far I've been very happy with using Blue for Business by American Express.

Joe Weider: My favorite business credit card is the Capital One Spark Cash for Business. I just don’t think that you can beat the 2% cash back across all purchases that it offers. It doesn’t hurt that there is no annual fee during the first year either. The way I see things, a small business owner has plenty of other things to worry about and plenty of other expenses to foot without having to bother with hands-on credit card management in order to get the best rewards or paying some expensive maintenance fee. Oh, and the last thing I like about getting a business credit card from Capital One is that no Cap One credit card charges foreign transaction fees, which means you can travel abroad for business or deal with foreign merchants without bloating your costs.

What's the best way to use a business credit card?
A business credit card can obviously be used both as a transaction vehicle (i.e. to make purchases, track spending, etc.) and to fund a small business. However, thanks to a credit card law that became effective in February 2010, a personal credit card is actually the best credit card for small business spending that will lead to an end-of-month balance. In addition to supplementing the consumer credit card bill of rights, this law made it illegal for credit card companies to apply increased interest rates to existing balances held on personal credit cards unless you are at least 60 days delinquent. This makes business credit cards, which were excluded from the laws protections, riskier to use for this purpose since the interest rate can change at any point in time. As a result, we recommend that the best business credit cards within this section should only be used for purchases that will be paid for in full by the end of the month.

Do business credit cards with no personal liability exist?
No. A small business credit card with no personal guarantee is merely a myth. Unless your company is large, a credit card company will hold both you and your business liable for credit card misuse no matter what kind of card you're using. Therefore, even the best small business credit card will not protect you personally, and you will be required to provide your Social Security Number (SSN) when applying for any of the products listed on this page.

Does my business' credit standing matter?
It does, but your personal credit standing usually matters even more. Since you are personally responsible for the use of a business credit card, banks typically focus on your credit history, which is usually longer than that of your business, to assess your risk. Therefore, while many new business owners believe they must get business credit cards for new businesses, you should actually focus your search on getting the best business credit card possible based on your personal credit score.
