Is this an actual credit card? Will this card help build my credit? Is it worth getting?

Yes, it is an actual credit card and it will help you improve your credit if used responsibly. It’s a fine option if a significant portion of your monthly spending is with Amazon or if you’re using it to supplement an existing everyday card. You also need good credit for approval.

what fico score do you need to get this card? I currently have the store card and would like to upgrade. Anyone know?

Jul 10, 2015
Your FICO credit score needs to be in the 660-719 range, or higher, to get approved. But other factors, like disposable income, are also in play, so it’s impossible to give a specific number.

Is there a penalty for not using this card? Like an inactivity fee or anything like that? I don't shop that often and I don't want to get slammed for not being a shopaholic.

There is no inactivity fee mentioned on the company’s website, so I guess they don’t charge something like that.

The Amazon Credit Card is an awesome deal for fans of online shopping.

For starters, points are as good as cash, considering you can buy pretty much anything and everything through the site – usually at the best possible prices. That means the three points you’ll earn for every dollar spent on are basically the same thing as 3% cash back. The same is true of the two points you’ll receive for each dollar spent at gas stations, restaurants, drug stores and office supply stores as well as the 1% you get everywhere else.

The fact that this card does not charge an annual fee also makes adding it more

Stingy and high interest card. 1 day late - and late fees will not be waived, as if the prime rate interest they offer is not enough for Chase.

I like the card because of the rewards via Amazon BUT I hate that the credit card statement is not itemized with what I purchased on Amazon or some minimal reminder word. Since they have the info on Amazon, why not put it in the Statement?

I avoid most of the big box stores and I live in a major metropolitan area so I can even take advantage of things like same day shipping. The rewards program earns me points on items I already buy plus I even earn points on purchases not made on Amazon. If you're using subscribe and save and prime and any of the other Amazon services you should be using this card and getting cash back.

I tried to cancel this card the first day I applied for it. That was four months ago. Chase finally closed the account. But I warn you right now it does NOT go away. After five emails and three phone calls to Amazon, the DEFUNCT card is still on my account. I cannot order anything digitally ("one-click settings") and make sure my real credit card is the one used for payment. I tried to order an e-book tonight, and the total amount was automatically deducted from the gift card which no longer exists. I am closing my account with Amazon and no doubt, will lose money from my Prime subscription. more

I really like the idea of this credit card. The fact that you get 30 dollars instantly just for signing up is really nice. The points system is also really cool. The interest rate seems very reasonable also. Overall I think this would be a really good card to get.

The Amazon card is one of the better cards you can get these days. You get an immediate $30 just for having the card approved and with decent credit you can get a very reasonable interest rate on future purchases. Another bonus to the card is the lack of an annual fee. Overall I would definitely recommend this card as it is one of the better cards I have seen, however I still prefer my Wells Fargo Cash Back card just because I get 1 or 5 % cash back on many different purchases.

I absolutely love my Amazon Rewards card. Their interest rate is low and there is no annual fee. The points really do add up quickly which is great for any card but even better when there is also no annual fee. The points show up automatically on your amazon account and you can use them with one click to purchase almost anything in the Amazon store. It's so convenient! You can also purchase gift cards with the points once you have at least $25 accrued in your account. The only drawback is that you are unable to purchase Kindle books with the points. Overall, this is the best credit card more

I love that there is no annual fee for this card. I also like the rewards that you get form it. I love anything that will give me free money! The fact that you get points will really be good if you use your amazon account all the time to order things. Most things that is Amazon is usually going to be great! This AMAZON.COM Credit Card is amazing!

The rewards of this card are very attractive. I don't know of another credit card that will give you money as soon as you are approved without any other stipulations. A free $30 right off the bat and cash back for any other purchase. If you use Amazon a lot, this card will rack up points quickly. The reward point rate is a minimum of 1% cash back, which is in line with other top credit card rewards. The APR is also lower than many other cards that I have used.

I love the fact that there is no annual fee, those days are hopefully over. The APR is pretty good and the cash back amount is amazing. I love the various categories and how they do not change. The fact that I can use my cash back rewards and put it back in to the balance is great because they do not limit how much I can use. It could be $1 or $100 they don't care. Free money is great. They are quick to up your limit if you need/want and their customer service is fantastic.

This is a great card to have to receive points for purchases. Unlike the Amazon Store Card, You get a $30 credit to use right away vs. a $10 credit. The APR is potentially lower than with the Amazon Store Card depending on your credit. The point system is great to have. You earn 3 points per dollar spent on Amazon, 2 points per dollar on gas, restaurants, and drug stores, and 1 point per dollar spent on everything else. You can't go wrong with this great card!

This is a great card. I do a lot of shopping on Amazon, so the rewards were especially appealing to me. When I signed up, I got a $65 bonus Amazon gift card to spend immediately. The reward system is hassle-free, unlike many other cards. Each month, your points are converted into a dollar reward which can then be used immediately toward Amazon purchases, or you can wait until you have $20 accrued and apply it as a payment toward your credit card balance. Very convenient. And the rewards are nice. 3% on Amazon purchases, 2% on gas, dining, drug stores, 1% on everything else.

Very good card if you shop at Amazon a lot. The $50 Gift Card they give you is very nice and I'm already racking up the reward points. If you shop at amazon often you have no reason not to have this card unless you're forgetful and don't pay your bills on time.

I really enjoy using this card. With the lower interest rate and fast approval, I was able to get the textbooks that I needed. Also, the rewards that come with it are great. They are instantly loaded to your account and are able to be used right away. The only downfall is that the rewards are readily available on Amazon instead of just cash, so it would be nice to have a cash rewards option.

Shipping with added incentives seems to be one of th most popular ways to keep a business alive! The application incentivethrough Amazon is quite attractive. As attractive as the added points per dollar and having a seperate card for online transactions gives me more added security while spending onilne. Amazon shipping and services have been amazing through this last holiday season and am excited to spend more next year through's amazing nework!

I have been very happy with this card. I like how easy it is to spend the rewards right on Amazon. I do have another card I prefer over this one, just because it is more flexible in what you can use the rewards for. I have had a credit on my account for over a year, and I would like it if they just sent the money instead of keeping it there. Overall though, I have been quite happy with the card and the service.

This card is alright. I think it's mostly good for those people who shop at Amazon frequently, since you earn 3 points for every dollar spent instead of 1. Even at that rate though, I don't think it's that special. You still need to spend quite a bit of money to get enough points to get a reward. I actually just get cashback/a statement credit

If you don't shop at Amazon a lot though, this card probably isn't really better than other, similar cards on which you can earn reward points through purchases. You earn 2 points for gas and dining. For everything else, you earn 1 point. If you only more

The Chase Amazon credit card is simply splendid. Not only does it make check-outs through Amazon a breeze, but I also get rewarded for my purchases! I must admit, I signed up for this card based on the $30.00 incentive that Chase gives you. But, after using it for the better part of a year, it has helped me build my credit and save on purchases. No only do I use this card on Amazon, but I also use this card at the gas station. One tank worth of gas and I have enough points to cover even the most outrageous shipping fees! I am very happy with this card.

I LOVE my Chase Amazon credit card. I originally got this credit card because a friend highly recommended it, and five years later I’m still recommending it to anyone looking for a new credit card. For my shopping habits, the rewards program is excellent, and I appreciate that it is easy to use ie. no rotating reward categories. I feel like annual fees are a bank’s way of squeezing more money out of consumers, so that’s one more reason why I like this card – no fees! In addition, I live in Los Angeles, the credit card fraud capital, and though my number has been stolen before, Chase was very more

This card got me thru college! After paying my tuition each semester, I had enough Amazon rewards to buy all my used textbooks for free. You receive the rewards quickly, and they really add up. The interest rate is so-so, but I pay it off early so it doesn't matter.

This card seems pretty good! I use Amazon a lot so I think I would like using it. The best features are the Amazon gift card ($30) and the cash back rewards.

Regarding the $30 sign up bonus, while that's nice, it is a little smaller than some other cards like the Bank of America cash back card ($100 bonus) or the Chase Freedom card ($200).

The 3-2-1 points systems seems really reasonable; it reminds me of the Bank of America cash rewards card (3% for gas, 2% for groceries, 1% for everything else).

The only negative things I would say are that the APR is a little high, and more

The credit card has many great features. One of the biggest features that I like is that I receive a $30 Amazon gift card upon my credit card application approval. The second feature of the card that I like is that I earn points based on how much I spend and where I spend my money. However the MasterCard offers the Fuel Rewards Network. After signing up the rewards, all I have to do is go to participating restaurants and grocery stores and make a purchase. I am able to save on fuel at any Shell gas station. The one drawback of that though is that I have to more

I love that I earn rewards to use back on Amazon, and basically pays me to shop. My only complaint is that this card has a higher APR, and despite having a perfect payment history for 2 years, Chase will not lower the APR.

Who doesn't want to shop on A lot of cards have rewards that you never really get a chance to use, but the rewards come often enough that you feel like you are actually getting a worthwhile reward.

I actually have this card, and I must say that the Rewards program is pretty generous, and I've been able to buy things from Amazon (or take some dollars off of purchases) a few times. The sign-up bonus was very nice to get too. However, I'm not using it as much at the moment because the promotional interest rate expired, so now I get hit with close to 20% interest if I'm not able to pay off the balance quickly. If you can pay it off as you go, though, the rewards rack up quickly and it is a great incentive.

I originally got this card because it came with a reward balance on your first purchase. I started using it exclusively with Amazon purchases because of the points you earn and the majority of things, besides food and gas, are bought through Amazon. It is very easy to use your rewards. The best is the ability to just apply your points as a credit on your next statement. I also like the ability to pay for new Amazon purchase just using the rewards you have already earned right as you check on on Amazon. Once i saw the rewards stacking up, i started using this card as my every day more

The Credit Card is perfect for earning rewards to spend online at The card earns points based upon type of spend. For Amazon, you earn 3 points. Gas, restaurants and drug stores 2 points. You also earn 1 point for every $1 spend elsewhere. These points really add up to buy great products and merchandise on Amazon.

I highly recommend this car, because of it's ease of use. Many cards require certain purchases at a specific type of store to earn any rewards; however, this card pays out for any type of purchases.

This is also the perfect starter card for a student. The interest rate is very fair, and more

This was my first card out of high school. I used this card to help build my credit history, and also got points on Amazon. The Chase customer service has been outstanding, they even work with you if you fall behind on payments. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking to establish credit, just use it responsibly! I kept my balance to 30% of my total limit and saw an improvement in my FICO score pretty quickly.

I have really enjoyed using my Amazon credit card. I love that there are NO fees! The absolute best part is that I am earning credit on Amazon and I am always needing or wanting to buy things from the site! The credit card is through Chase which has also been satisfactory. The online interface to check and pay balances is easy to use. They offer paperless statements which is always a must for me.

The Credit Card has a sign-up bonus of $30 which is applied to your Amazon account upon approval. The rewards are competitive with most rewards cards and earn 3% at Amazon, 2% at gas stations, restaurants and drug stores and 1% on everything else. The Quicksilver card gives you 1.5% on all purchases but you miss out on the slightly higher rewards for gas and Amazon purchases.

I have had my Amazon Rewards card for about a year. I decided to get the card because I was purchasing a large item and they offered me a good deal. I, of course, still use it and love getting the rewards from it. I have contacted customer support with Chase to send me a new card after my wallet was stolen and the service was great. Just don't forget to use it or make a payment and it will be a great card for you.

I've had my Amazon credit card for over 7 years now. I love the rewards and the fact there are no annual fees. I am an avid Amazon shopper so the points I receive from using my card on their website is great. It's my ONLY go-to credit card.

The Credit Card does not have any annual fees which is really great. Also the point system is very elaborate and rewarding. I can earn points spending money on Amazon or at some gas stations and restaurants which gives me great flexibility to earn rewards. This credit card is a catch!

I have gotten the Amazon card to get a good discount on the first time purchase with this card on Amazon plus a free shipping. I don't shop on Amazon too much, but the toy that I was buying for my daughter as a gift was almost $45. With this promotion, I only paid about 12 or 15 dollars for it. I rarely use credit cards in day by day purchases, so I think it is good to have it just in case. The rate is reasonable, and if you do not overcharge on it, it is very manageable.

I like that this card offers a $30 gift upon approval and with decent credit the APR isn't too high. The only thing that seems to be a little difficult is amassing points. However with no annual fee it kind of makes up for that. This reminds me of a premier bank credit card because you can do cash advances with a slightly higher APR. Overall I'd recommend this card to heavy online shoppers.
