This is my third attempt to post this review as the Cardhub website keeps crashing on my computer! This is a great card for Amazon.com users/fans as it offers triple rewards for shopping on Amazon. We generally use it for the purchases and then pay the balance with the cash we would have spent thus earning ourselves a pretty handsome amount of rewards since we took out the card. The best part about the rewards is how easy they are to use, you can just shop on Amazon and when you are checking out they offer you the option of using your rewards points for their cash value on the purchase. I don't really care about the rates because I haven't carried a balance on the card, but I'm sure it is comparable to others. The only downside to the card is the issuer, Chase is not my favorite and they haven't proven to have pretty poor customer service, but I'll keep the card despite this drawback.

It’s getting to be the time of the year when the Amazon.com and iTunes gift cards are passed around by friends and family members like Halloween candy, which made me wonder what the Amazon.com Credit Card has to offer. Starting with the basics, the Amazon card is targeted to consumers with at least good credit, is on the Visa network, is issued by Chase Bank and does not have an annual fee. When it comes to rewards, the Amazon.com credit card offers 3 points per $1 spent on Amazon, 2 points/$1 spent at gas stations, restaurants and drug stores, and 1 point/$1 spent on everything else, not to mention the $30 Amazon.com digital gift card you get for signing up. There aren’t any low introductory interests rates to speak of, only the advertised 13.24% - 21.24% variable APR range. Applicants with higher scores would get rates on the lower end of this spectrum and vice versa. It’s pretty clear that whether or not the Amazon.com gift card is a good option for you depends on two things. How much you already spend on Amazon.com and the rewards redemption policies associated with the card. Unless a card has a really great initial rewards bonus, you want to get rewards cards tied to your biggest expenses. This allows you to both earn as many points/miles/cash back as possible and redeem often. With the Amazon credit card, 100 points equals $1 off an Amazon.com purchase, which means it is at best basically a 3% cash back card affiliated with a website, and at worst a 1% cash back card. For the most diehard of Amazon.com shoppers, that’s not too bad, but when you consider that other cards give you 1.5% – 2% across all purchases, going in another direction might be the best move.
