The Citi Forward card is a good first credit card for students because it is easy to get. This is especially important for college students who are focused on building credit. I recommend this card because I myself got this card a year ago as a junior in college. The ThankYou points are OK, but it isn't the best rewards program out there. Students should be responsible with credit (eg. always pay off in full) and should carry at least 2 credit cards to help build credit.

I love this credit card. I signed up on my senior year of high school (2009) and have had it since. In that time I've accumulated hundreds of dollars in giftcards via The Thank you points programs. I've also paid off my bill each month to avoid an interest charge, however the credit limit is low enough to prevent college students from spending way more than they can afford. Overall I really do like this card and would recommend it to any college student.

This is really a great card. I signed up for this when I was in college and didn't have enough money to pay off most of my bills. It really helped me through tough times. One of the greatest things is that you can earn Thank You points. I used these points to pay off my balance, and I love that they have this as an option. I continue to use this card, especially because of the 0.0% APR! Definitely satisfied :)

I love this card more than any card ive ever used. I used to sign up for a different card every month but since I signed up for this card I've loved it so much I haven't signed up for any other. I love earning points. I shop online a lot so I can go back and watch my points add up then buy even more afterwards, If you're a student I highly recommend this card for sure!

This is a very good card, especially if you shop, often on amazon. The points really add up when you use your credit card and the redemption value at amazon is fairly good. At first, when I was saving up a certain item, with points from the card, I found the credit card fairly frustrating. Now I very much enjoy it. I don't have a great credit rating and I still do not pay a lot in percentage wise. I also got a pretty high limit which was pretty nice when I was stuck between financial aid payments. The introductory 0% was also extremely helpful for me as this was my very first credit card. I would highly suggest this card to anyone just starting out.

The Citi Forward Card for college students is great for me (a college student). The thank you points are very nice and easy to obtain. There are no hidden fees with this card, and APR is pretty low compared to other cards. Overall I'm happy with this card, but it does lose a point for penalty APR being pretty high at 30%.

The Citi Forward Card for College Students is a decent card for student that have limited credit history. I have used it for about 6 months so far and have not had any problems. The intro rate of 0% is helpful and even after the introduction period the interest rate is not that high. The cash advance feature is very helpful in cases of emergency and it has already gotten me out of one jam when I had car troubles! The interest rate on the loan feature is at around the normal range as other cards. This card is great for all students who are looking to build their credit.

I am back in school as a student for a second degree, and it has been helpful for me to use this card as a student. Since I am a little older than a first time college student it was easier to be responsible with money and use this card to help build my credit. I really liked the 'thank you points,' and it was helpful for me to use this card while in school and working a part-time job, especially when I was short at the end of the month and needed the reassurance of some extra money to help with books and tuition related costs.

About a year into my college career I saw various flyers around offering free subs, being a college student I went to check it out. Not realizing what was going on I ended up signing up for a credit card – what can I say I was young and didn’t really understand what I was doing. I choose to take the experience in stride and use it to build my credit. It was a negative experience to say the least! After overlooking my minimum payment one time my rate shot up to 29.99%. Now almost 6 years later of paying on time I still have not received a lower interest rate, and my credit was slashed by 75% in the wake of the 2008 crisis (I was told it was happening to everyone because it was “more expensive for the credit card companies”). Needless to say I rarely use this card and the only reason I still have it is because I don’t want to shatter my credit by closing this line.

About two and a half years ago before I entered college I applied for the Citi mtvU student credit card to start building my credit as early as possible. That card eventually changed into the Citi Forward credit card which I still use as my primary credit card. It has been everything I would want in a student credit card. There have been no extra hidden fees and even when I couldn't make my full payment one month during the first year with this card I didn't have any extra fees to pay. The rewards system has been great. I've earned up to about $150 in rewards cards and amazon credit so far. The only complaint I can think of with this card is the fact that my limit is only $800. Otherwise I am completely satisfied with Citi.
