This was my first starting credit card and is pretty simple for me. I really only got it to build basic credit, so the initial 500 limit was really all I needed (it should go up by the time I actually need more). Their online service and text messaging service is pretty good- setting up text message alerts for a certain personal credit line reminder was very helpful to know that I was reaching my limit soon. It's online/phone app bill pay is really useful and only takes 1-2 days to post... I can just transfer money quickly and easily from my bank account whenever I'd like to. The intro NO apr has really been a lifesaver for me also. I'm saving up for something, so my credit card comes in handy for the tiny little expenses that I don't really care to pay now- but I can pay them in a year. awesome! All in all, I really like Discover as my first credit card. At first I wasn't sure if I should go Discover, but now it seems to be accepted at 85% of places so it hasn't been an issue for me.

The Discover Student More card is an awesome card. It is my first credit card, I applied for it in August 2012 with an empty credit history and got approved for $500. The cash rewards program is great. For starters, there are 5% rotating categories every three months. In addition, there are usually days once a month or so where there is a bonus 2% cash back opportunity. There are also opportunities to earn cash back by shopping with certain companies, such as iTunes. The website is pretty user friendly as well, and the customer service has been great in my experience. Definitely a good card if you're a student looking to build credit and get rewarded for it.

I have recently returned to college after about 8 years away from it so I recently applied for this card and I was approved. I had been building my credit back from the depths and am finally comfortable with where I am. At one point it was just terrible and now it is actually good. Anyway, this card does not require excellent credit. One can have no credit history, hence the fact that it is a student card. I just went with it because it is safe and I want to maintain credit flow while not falling back into bad credit. So far I have used it for gas and food at the market. I get a little cash back that way. I also used it for books for the once course I have in winter sessions. I probably should have looked at the Discover site to see what I could have gotten discounts on for Christmas but I did not think of it at the time. So far the card serves its purpose and you shouldn't be able to fall into much trouble with it. It's part of why I got it. I have not used it much because school hasn't kicked into high gear yet but in a few weeks I will be doing school full time again and be making more use of the card. No complaints as of yet, the card is convenient.

I am proud to say that Discover is my first credit card. I was unaware of what I would be getting myself into, especially when you hear about the horror stories of credit card debt, but Discover has made the entire process as smooth as possible. They offer and provide realistic expectations for college students looking to establish credit. I have used my Discover card mainly for school expenses, such as books, and it has provided me a way to finance these costly activities. Not only do they have realistic expectations of college students, but their website to make payments and check statements is extremely user-friendly. When I first received my Discover card, I had trouble on activating it so I could start using it. I dreaded calling customer service because of the negative connotation that customer service has in general, but the person I talked to was very sincere and helpful. After that, I knew I could not go wrong with my Discover credit card.

This the first credit card that I have ever had. I applied for it this summer when I got some information from Discover in the mail. I needed a way to safely build my credit, so I applied for this card. I was approved very quickly and setting up my account was quick and easy. The people who helped me over the phone were very friendly and helpful. Ever since, Discover's website has made it extremely easy to keep track of my purchases and payments. They make you fully aware of how much is due and on what date. I especially love their expense tracker, which is basically a pie chart that shows you what types of things you spend your money on. This is a great first credit card choice!

This was the very first credit card I ever had. While I was going to school in RVA I got this card to help me build my credit. The rates seemed very reasonable and I had a very easy time keeping. up on the payments. I mostly used this card to pay bills. I would recommend this card to any student who needs to start building their credit. The people I talked to on the phone were very helpful and really took the time to explain everything to me. They really helped me understand how my new credit card worked so I didn’t make any mistakes.

I have applied for this card when I was a student at the University of Phoenix and was approved instantly and I was happy with the service they provided. I was able to get a copy of my credit report in a book type along with my credit score for free. Though the limit was not that high when I first got it, it was easy to ask for an increase since I have always paid my bill on time. I got an increase after 6 months and was impress with the amount they have given me. Their online facility made it possible for me to pay anytime as well as request for a new card with a different design.

This is the first credit card I have owned. It is great and I signed up as a student in my freshman year of college. I make sure to always keep up on my bills and it has taught me a lot about responsibility and money. I use it mostly for phone bills, and do not spend much on random items. I only need it when I really need to and in a case of emergency. It is a great way to build up credit as a student and the interest rate is low so it is not much of a hassle or worry to me. This is a great card for any student who has never had a credit card.

The Discover Student More Card was my first Credit Card when I was a college student and wanted to start building my credit. I was approved even though I had a limited credit history. I thought the interest rate was average for just starting out with a credit card. I also liked that I got a 5% Cash back Bonus when I used it for gas or groceries as a college student I was doing a lot of that purchasing. This card has no annual fee, so that was good for me, too. If you don't want to rack up interest cards you need to make sure you pay on time, which is something this card taught me to do. It was definitely a learning experience. I don't have this card anymore, because I am out of college and I found a better credit card and interest rate when I was researching, but I do have to say if you are a student looking for a start to build your credit, I do recommend the Discover Student More Card. I had a wonderful customer service experience when I was canceling the card, which made me feel at ease. If you are looking for a starter card with pretty decent interest rate and can be responsible try this one. I hope your experience is as smooth as mine.

Can you get this with no credit? I am thinking about applying- but I don't want my credit pulled without knowing I have a chance w/o a credit background yet.

This was my first credit card I ever owned. I signed up for the Discover Student More when I was a junior in college. This card honestly taught me a ton of responsibility as a first timer out on my own. I made sure to pay my bill every single month and never missed a date. The rewards were fantastic helping me out to buy groceries and especially gas since I only had a part-time job to get by. I paid all my standard bills with it and did not use it for petty items. I made sure it was only used to things that I had to pay for every single month, such as my car payment, car insurance, and cell phone bill. At first, I was a little nervous because I only ever hear of negative things about credit card especially with the word “debt”. That is definitely not the case if you are RESPONSIBLE. Understand what you are using and how you’re planning to use it and you will be absolutely fine. Overall, I will say it helped out a lot and I am now a much more responsible person because of it.

When I started college I signed up for the Discover Student More Card. It was recommended to me because of its great advantages from being a student. I have had a great experience with it in the past couple years. It has been an easy way to build my credit up. It has a pretty low interest rate, which helps a lot. Also, it has a great cash back policy. I have always paid it on time so that has not been an issue with this card. I would recommend this card to students that are looking to start building their credit.

I admit, I was scared about getting a credit card as it is quite a scary prospect. However, after having the Discover student card for a while, I have to say that it was a great decision, my natural caution to use it is good, but when I do I enjoy 0% interest, and best of all: no annual fee. So with this card I'm able to just ignore it, and if I need it, I use it and then pay it off. My credit is getting better every day and I'm not really doing anything that hard. Plus, in an emergency scenario, it's good to know I can fall back on the card if I really need to.

This card is my very first credit card. I recently got it because I want to be able to have a good credit score so I can eventually get an apartment away from my college campus. I mostly use it when I buy gas for my car, but every now and again I use it when I shop online as well. The cash back from stores sometimes is a really nice bonus, and one of my favorite things about this card. Since I have a job, I usually pay off the balance right after I get paid, which keeps me from getting behind. My best friend is the one who recommended this card to me, and I've recommended it to several other people as well!

The Discover student credit card is a great first time credit card for students. I've been using this card for two years and I've had a great experience with it. It is really helpful just to use a few times a week to help me build up credit which I will need after graduating college. I am also a big fan of the cash back bonuses that can be applied to amazon.com purchases. I buy almost everything on amazon so I find myself using these bonuses alot and its a nice little boost in extra cash. Overall I would recommend this card to anyone looking for their first credit card, I don't think you could go wrong with this one.

I recently got a student credit card with Discover to start building my credit score. I’m a second year college student and will be looking for apartments and bank loans soon, so I need to be prepared with a solid credit score. While I only got it at first to build credit, I ended up using it a lot more than I planned to. Discover is great and you get a lot of cash-back benefits. Every three months (I think) there is a rotating list of places where you can get 5% cash-back, which is great! Also, every time I call customer service, they are always so nice and helpful.

The Discover Student More credit card is the card I had in terms of many things but it especially shines in the department of low interest rates on my purchases. I have bought many different things that I need for school with this card and they were all great purchases. The really low interest rate really helped out because I needed to get books at the time and couldn’t afford to pay for them with cash. Now that I am paying them off I am glad that I used this card because the interest is so low it doesn’t impact my income of money from the current job I have.

I have had this card for three years now and am thoroughly satisfied with it. I initially got this card to use exclusively to pay for my gas and small purchases to build up my credit. Upon entering college I found it easier to charge all my purchases to the card so as to track my spending more easily and earn cashback on my purchases. I have not carried a balance so the APR has not ever had an effect, but I do like that there is a promotional rate of 0% on balance transfers should I have need. Though you should not choose this credit card for its rewards alone, I love that the accrued cashback bonus can be redeemed directly on Amazon. I have used my cashback bonus for this as well as getting a nice discount on a Sephora giftcard. The last feature I want to comment on is the Wallet Protection. While I have only needed and used this feature once, I enjoy the peace of mind it gives as you can enter all the cards you keep in your wallet and one call to a Discover representative can get them all deactivated and replaced should you lose your wallet. Plus they'll buy you a new purse or wallet should yours get lost or stolen! For $3/month, it is a worthwhile feature for me.

Shortly after going to college I began receiving numerous solicitations in the mail for credit cards. Initially I passed off the idea because I was under the impression that credit cards were a sure-fire way to land yourself knee deep in debt. With some fiscal sense and responsibility, though, this is not the case. When I came to the realization that building credit is something I needed to do, I chose to sign up for the Discover student card because their cash back program is hard to beat and Discover is my parents' card of choice. I have had the card for about six months and am still enjoying the introductory rate and have had no problems. I have been using the card not as a way of buying what I can't afford, but channeling some of my purchases to the credit card and paying them every month as to build credit. I can't see any problems one could have with this card that isn't their fault. Simply put, if you have problems owning this credit card, you're going to have problems with any credit card.

Well, I'm back to school this year to get my degree in English Lit. I already had a credit card, but I felt that the one I was using might not work when my income isn't as steady. I'm always careful about paying my card off, but I just wanted something with some student perks. I got the Student Discover because of the 9 month intro rate of 0% which has really helped me prepare for the upcoming term by buying vital stuff like books and supplies. I figured I would just not use a credit card at all during college, but in all honesty I need to keep my credit score at a good level and this card will definitely help with that.

Going into college I realized that it is important to begin acquiring credit in a responsible manor. I received an advertisement for this card in the mail and began to start researching the different offers and promotions that other student credit cards offer. At the conclusion of my research I decided that this card would be a great fit for me. I have had this card for over a year now and I have not had any problems with it. Eventually I am sure that I will move to a regular credit card with a higher limit, but for right now this card is the perfect fit for me at college. I would recommend this card for first time credit card holders who are trying to build their credit.

When I first got a letter in the mail about this card, I figured it was just more useless spam. Upon doing a little more research, however, I was pleasantly surprised. No monthly fee and decent cash-back bonuses? Don't mind if I do. If you don't have much of a credit history (and honestly, I don't think that many college students do), then this card might be the way to start building one. Discover is willing to give these cards out to pretty much anyone who wants one, and their low credit limit means you won't get yourself in trouble if you’re the kind of person who likes to… well, indulge a little.

I have had this credit card for about two years now and have had no issues with it all. I think it's great that their are credit cards out there for students to be able to use in order to establish some credit while they go through school. My favorite thing about Discover is the cash back rewards program. Each quarter their are different things you can purchase to earn 5% cash back and Discover times up the rewards perfectly. For instance, during summer months you get 5% back on gas and amusement parks while during the holidays you get 5% on holiday shopping. It's a great way to earn rewards and they have a shop discover section of their site that let's you get up 25% cash back on certain sites just by going through discover. Speaking of their site, it's easy to use with everything being pretty clearly stated so you can get to what you need. Plus they have email and text notifications so you never miss a payment. I have recommended Discover to many friends and all of them have loved it!

This is my first credit card, so I'm not really able to compare it to any other cards, but for what it's worth, I think this card is great! I applied because I'm a college student looking to establish credit. However, because of the awesome cashback rewards, I use my Discover card for almost every single purchase I make. Getting some money back for buying things I already would've bought anyway is pretty cool! And the fact that those rewards can be spent directly on Amazon, my favorite store, is awesome. From what I understand (as I said, can't really compare to any other cards), the APR is pretty high, but I obsessively pay it off anyway, so it's a non-issue for me. I'd definitely recommend this credit card, especially for students looking to establish credit like I am!

I think this is a great card for students and a great way to establish credit. I got a different card which I was unhappy with and easily did a balance transfer. Customer service was helpful and it was easy! I'm glad that there is no annual fee, because a lot of other credit cards have a fee that could feed me for a week! As with all credit cards, just make sure you pay on time. I think their fees are fair along with their grace period. I luckily haven't been late, but it is good to know what to expect if something like that happens. Also, online payments are super easy, so just do that. Plus, most places accept Discover Card. I've noticed that a lot of places don't accept American Express, so I'm glad Discover has always been accepted in places I frequent.

I have the student version of Discover More, but I love it! Discover was my first credit card, and I found the online component easy to use and makes managing your credit card as headache-free as possible. I only use my card to build credit history, not make large purchases, so I have not used some of the card’s most advanced benefits (like APR – I’m not even sure what it means). In the online portal you can elect to receive email alerts whenever your statement is ready, which really helps me pay on time without being penalized. I have used it’s 5% cash back bonus for select categories like gas and restaurants. There’s an online shopping component that allows you to get up to 20% of your cash back, but I have yet to use it. The only aspect of the cash back program that I didn’t like was the fact that the categories rotate every month – in contrast to the Visa student card. It’s hard to keep track of the highlighted categories, and furthermore, I believe you have to manually sign up for the program each month. Overall, however, the email alerts facilitate credit building, which was my main goal for the card anyway. Therefore, I would highly recommend this card, especially for people with goals similar to mine.

After using a debit card for years, I decided that it would be a smart idea to get a credit card in order to start building a credit history and plan for the future. Being a college student, I was looking for a card with a low limit (so that I wouldn't be tempted to overspend) as well as a greater cash back percentage than your typical credit card. Upon doing some research, I found that the Discover Student Card was one of the most popular options for college students and "beginner" credit card users and, after having the card for about a year, I can easily see why. The fact that there is no annual fee is a huge bonus, as well as often getting 5% cash back on things like books and movies. I would absolutely recommend this card to college students, especially someone who's looking for their first credit card; it's an easy way to build credit and learn the responsibility of paying credit card bills on time.

I’ve had this card since I was 18 and have had nothing but good experiences with it. I like that the limit isn’t very high so you aren’t worried about spending too much. I also love the cash back rewards! Every few months there are a certain types of stores where you receive 5% cash back instead of just the usual 1%! It’s a great incentive to use the card and to also get it paid off quickly. It’s also fun that you can customize the card to have any picture you want on it. It’s a cute added bonus. Overall, I would highly recommend the Student Discover to someone who wants to start earning credit without the fear of racking up high amounts of debt and interest!

After having a credit card at another bank that I just wasn't really satisfied with, I decided to go with the Discover Student More Card. This card was exactly what I was looking for as a student in college. It is also a good beginner credit card for someone who doesn't have any credit history. My favorite part about this card is that there is no annual fee while at the same earning cash back on all my purchases. This is a win-win type of deal for me. Overall, I would recommend this card to any student in college who is currently looking to improve or build their credit.

This card is great for students just starting out. You don't have to pay an annual fee which helps on a tight budget. Even though it doesn't have some features other cards have, it is still great for a student who is using a credit card for their first time. The interest rate isn't bad especially if you just pay off your credit every month. The cash back does help and adds up over time which is always useful to a college student. You can check everything online so it is pretty useful. I haven't had any problems with my card so far but setting it up was easy and I have no complaints.
