5/3 secured card is your basic card. It reports to all 3 bureaus, if used wisely can help raise your credit score. My complaint and reason why it gets 3 stars is because a HARD PULL is done for this card. I'm using my own money I don't see the correlation. To top things off any time you want to increase the limit they do a HARD PULL. Once again I'm confused, it's my money, it's secured and you've already done a HARD PULL when I applied for the card. Thought I'd share because no one told me this and I didn't feel I needed to ask because once again it's a SECURED CARD!

One of my first out of 3 credit cards I have $300 limit since that's what it costs to open one of their secured cards. Though, sooner or later. I would like to close this card once I've established a higher credit score. So I can get my $300 back and open a new credit line on their unsecured cards.

This card has helped me to build up my credit! I love this card, I am currently a college student, so this card helps me so much with building my credit score so that it can get better than the score it is at now. I am looking to change but this is great for now.

I had 5/3 account and bank card and tallied up a good number of bonus points. The bank tellers on 2 different occasions told me that they were applied to our account. Along with poor and unfriendly service and closing the drive thru on Saturdays but had to go in bank instead, I closed the account. I then discovered that the bonus points were never applied. The tactic that the card service used when I tried to redeem the points was to put you on hold 4 or 5 times saying they could do a one time reward redeem and would transfer me to a supervisor. A supervisor never answered and the person on the line would say, "I don't know why they transferred you to me". The last person after 4 others was the first person I talked to and she then said, “You should go to the branch." The branch can't do anything because it is through the credit card department.” I told her I did not appreciate her and the company's dishonesty and hung up. Glad to be out of that bank!

I had this card for about 2 years and overall I was very pleased with everything about it. I first had to open a new savings account and deposit $450 into it and then within the next week I received my card with a credit limit of $500 dollars, which for me was great. This was my first ever credit card so the credit limit was just enough for me and if for some reason I couldn't make the payments at the end it was backed by my savings account and the max that I would have still owed would have been $50. Its a great way to build better credit and it is also a good way to establish some credit. I eventually got rid of the card just because I personally do not like them, I tend to spend more money when I have them. All I can say is be responsible and you should have no problems.

This card is a life saver! I was denied for card after card. I did not want to apply for another credit card, ever. Then I found about the secured card offered by Fifth Third and I signed right up at the bank right around the corner from my house. I deposited $150 extra and received a credit line of $300.00. I got the card simply for the need to rebuild my credit. I can not tell you how well it has worked, I use the card every month and keep a balance of about $130.00 on it and just pay the minimum payment every month. Within months I had other credit card company's sending me applications for their cards. I even recently got approved for a car loan, and one of the positive marks on my credit report was this card! So if your looking for a credit card to rebuild your credit this is it! Just don't be late on your payments and your credit will get better little by little.

You could improve your credit more if you do not not keep a balance on the card, and simply pay off all of your charges every month.

This card is convenient to have. After having some credit issues in the past, I was able to get approved for this at my local branch. I deposited $450 into a saving account initially to get a $300 credit line. After 1 year, that required deposit was reduced to $300. I can use their account transfer function in online banking to pay the card from my checking instantly. Having this card gives me additional flexibility to make purchases as well as helping to rebuild my credit. They report regularly to the credit reporting agencies. Overall, I am extremely happy that I got this card and love the convenience of them being local. I no longer really need this card, but I continue to keep it for all of its conveniences.

Since I've had this card I've been more at ease spending. I don't really use credit cards that often but when I do I prefer to use this card. I'm a musician so sometimes cash won't cut it for some of the more expensive gear. I've never missed a payment so I don't really worry about the rates. So far I've used the card to buy a new $600 guitar. Using the companies payment plans along side of using the card I have small payments that I can pay with relative ease. It slim, and easy to get in and out of my wallet so that's something that I really appreciate.
