A so-called photo credit card enables customers to customize the appearance of their plastic with a favorite photo or a selection of potential designs. Some people decide to personalize their photo cards with a picture of their children, spouse, pet, etc. Using your portrait as the photo can also deter unauthorized use if your card is lost or stolen.

With that being said, we recommend comparing photo credit cards (some of which come from CardHub’s partners) against all of the other cards you can qualify for in order to verify that image customization will not cost you in terms…show more

I have customized my card with a photo. I put a photo of myself in the card so that if it ever gets lost, people will be able to see my face on the card. It’s also convenient when using it in stores so that the cashier will be able to verify I do own the card easily by just looking at the photo.

I like personal photo on my credit card. In fact, mine has the picture of my wife and kids. It reminds me to be wise and responsible in using it otherwise my family's future is at risk. So that's mainly the motive behind why I'm customizing my credit card with a photo. I like seeing my photos in my credit card because I know it is memories frozen in time and it takes me back as well to the moment I took that pic especially if you're a photography lover like me.

I love being able to customize my credit cards with my photos. It makes me feel like I am unique and have a fun card that no one else has because I get to share pictures of my dogs or family every time I hand someone my credit card.

It seems like getting a picture credit card would be a trendy (yet very intriguing) way of both securing your card as well as showing off your personality. If the card didn't have too many negatives (in comparison to a non-personalized card), having an identifiable picture (whether, as mentioned in the paragraph above, it was of a spouse/partner, a pet, or simply a favorite television character or sport) can make it more enjoyable to use the card.

Personally, given the choices above, I'd choose the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards card, mainly because of the ability to earn cash from qualifying purchases. Other cards, with the ability to earn travel points or similar rewards, just aren't as easy to use as those that give a cash reward at the end of the credit period.

Images on credit cards increase the security of transaction by way of not revealing on instant the type of card being used therefore it keeps potential credit identity theft onlookers from stealing ones information. Some images appear to be used by several institutions which is one way I think the image is used to secure transactions. Although the image can make the card look good , its just not the main reason for images on credit cards.

Credit cards with photo ID built in seem like a good security feature, but I think they provide more a false sense of security than anything. If you think about it, how often do you have to hand your card to anyone anymore? And out of those times, how often do they really give it a good look? Most of the time these days you're swiping it yourself, entering info online, or giving it to someone who just wants to run it through the machine as quickly as possible and get on with their job. They provide a lot less security than they seem and may just lead you to be more lax with your card than you should be.

I would get a credit card with a photo ID on it just to escape the hassle of being asked for my ID. I hate holding up the line while I’m digging through my purse trying to find my ID. It also adds another layer of protection. I would think most clerks would notice that there is a picture on the card and double check to make sure the person using the card matches the picture on the card. I would probably go with the Capital One Quicksilver Card. I’ve heard good reviews from friends and it gives you 1.5% cash back.

I think that personalizing a cc can be a good thing but yet a bad thing. I do not have any of my CC personalized with photos of my children or spouse. I think that opens up your private world to someone who is a hacker. I do have a CC that supports breast cancer. I do like the bank cards where the debit card has your picture on it for increased security. That prevents someone from using your card without your authorization. I am more concerned about what the card can do for me; rewards, low interest, increase credit score, rather than what it looks like.

In today's world, everything is personalized. Why not a credit card? I have had issues with banks that won't let you use logos from sports teams and universities, but I understand that there are copywrite issues at play there and I don't hold that against the banks. I am an amateur photographer and from time to time I will take a nice landscape shot that I have printed on my cards. It makes the card look good and I feel good knowing that I took that shot.

Photo credit cards are an excellent option for people who want to personalize their credit cards and/or add another security option. It is a really nice perk to be able to choose what you want to go on your credit card, i.e. if you’d like to put a picture of you and your significant other, your pets, your kids, a favorite location of yours. Also, you choose to just include a picture of yourself this is an added protection from identity theft. Store clerks see it’s your picture on the card and know when someone who is not you is using it, hence preventing fraud.

I have a Master Card and when I signed up I got the generic image on it. I think it was blue with some abstract shapes. A few days later I got a letter in the mail with a brochure of different options that I could use to personalize my card. I think it gives some character and identity to the cards and let's you show off a little whenever you use it while out. On mine I have a white puppy giving an orange kitten a kiss. I thought it was sweet and appealed to the animal lover in me. I know I could also put a personal picture on the card but It would be hard to decide. I love the personalization though!

Having a picture of yourself on your credit card is a nice little feature. It puts another block in the way of some identity staling and using it. Say cheese!

I would use the ability to put a photo on my credit card to express my inner beliefs, as I am a pagan and an American consumer. It is a sad state of affairs that paganism is not represented in everyday life, or in everyday American lifestyles. So I would have a credit card with a silver pentagram ( pointing the star upward ) to represent my pagan, Wicca and beliefs involving modern witchcraft. I also would consider using an inverted pentagram on certain cards, just so they would stand out and I would be less inclined to over use them. This would be a great way to avoid over spending my budget and bank account during the Christmas ( Christian ) holiday season. I think this would be a really cool option to express myself with in the now of the material word, as someone who believes in myth, magick , money and myself. Being in touch with natural law, beings by being in touch with your material world, as it is above, so it is below. Blessed be. Oh and I would choose the Capital One Quicksilver One.

It's great to be able to use a photo credit card because I can easily locate that particular card I need amongst my many other cards that I own for that big or extra purchase I might need to make that is outside of my bank account budget or my other financial accounts. It can also help speed things up at times when a merchant or business I'm at requires further verification that I am the owner of the card since my own face is on the card along with the signature on the back so a photo card can possibly serve as an ID confirmation in some cases. Or I could just place a picture of one of my siblings just to let them know how much they mean to me, that I would place their own photo on my credit card that I use every day, because I enjoy seeing their face and have a piece of them with me everywhere I go. Another thing that's nice about photo cards is that I can use a photo that speaks about the kind of person I am, like a picture of the Eiffel Tower if I've been there and enjoyed the sight, maybe an animal if I really like it, or just a bright picture of someone feeling good and looking up at the sun outside like I have for my own avatar on this website because I like to feel good so a photo card is great for more

I would like to use a photo card so i can always know which card is mine. It can allow it to have some sort of sentimental value for me. Also if ordering out at a restaurant or in a group i will always be able to know which card is mine. It is also nice to inject a little bit of fun into the mundaneness of life. And to have a bit of pizazz.

I agree with you, Dances Bolton. I think a photo card can offer a sentimental value and personalize your card more than otherwise not having one. It adds some personality and I completely agree it is also very fun.
