A so-called photo credit card enables customers to customize the appearance of their plastic with a favorite photo or a selection of potential designs. Some people decide to personalize their photo cards with a picture of their children, spouse, pet, etc. Using your portrait as the photo can also deter unauthorized use if your card is lost or stolen.

With that being said, we recommend comparing photo credit cards (some of which come from CardHub’s partners) against all of the other cards you can qualify for in order to verify that image customization will not cost you in terms…show more

I chose not to add a photo in fear of misplacing my card and it being recognized. While this could work out well (if the card was returned), I would still want to replace it or put a temporary hold on funds, so the picture would not be saving me any trouble. I would also not want to add photos of my children, for privacy reasons. If I were to add a picture, it would be a pet (but I have three, how could I choose?) and would only be to distinguish it from other cards in my wallet.

While I understand the argument for added security with adding a photo to your credit card, I also see the flip side of it. I honestly feel one is more at risk of having their identity stole with the more information available. I'm also not a very photogenic person and hate every driver license picture I've had, I don't need another thing like that in my wallet.

I customized my credit card with a photo and love it! It didn't cost anything extra to do it, and it is easier to see it among all of my other cards in my wallet. I choose to customize the card with a photo of my two dogs. This doesn't compromise any of my privacy or increase security risk.

I have not customized my card with a photo for a variety of reasons. I am not very photogenic. Picture having the equivalent of your drivers license photo available for all to see every time you want to make a purchase? With security breeches the way they are, I do not want to add to the potential of forgeries and hackers. I want to be as anonymous a possible.

The main reason I don’t like having a photo in my credit card is because of privacy. I don’t like having my photo on every item that I own. I am also a very shy person and don’t photograph very well so I don’t like having my photos everywhere unless it’s required like my passport or driver’s license.

I didn't put my photo on my credit card because I don't think that is not secure enough. My credit card is used by me almost everywhere and I don't think it is better for me to let everyone see my photo. Also since I lose things quite often, I don't want anyone to get a hold of my photo.

I decided to go with a credit card with photo because of the added security. There are some places like restaurants that don't ask for ID when you pay. So adding my DMV photo is great way to help secure that only you are using your card.

I haven't customized my card yet because I can't decide on a good single image. I mainly use my card for online shopping and not in public very often, so it would be more of just personal preference and not for display to others. I have yet to take advantage of this feature but I like knowing that I have the option.

I have put a photo on a debit card but not a credit card. I don't use credit cards every day to really need to put it on there. It would be nice but I haven't seen any immediate need to. But it does add personality to the card.

As soon as I found out that I had the option of adding a custom photo to my card, I seized the opportunity! I highly recommend doing so! I have a photo of my two puggle dogs on my card, and it gets comments from everybody who sees it! It also helps me recognize which card is mine when we're paying for group lunches at work, and if my card was ever lost or left anywhere, I know I could describe it easily and it would make a memorable impression on anyone who might find it. I don't see any downside to photo cards - I think they're great!

I have a Capital One credit card and I can personalize the card at no cost. I decided to put a picture of my beautiful German Shepherd on the card. It was very easy to do. All I had to do was login to the Capital One website and go to my account and upload a picture of my dog. The photo was approved and a new card was sent to me fairly quickly. I was very happy with the whole process. I think its a really cool idea that Capital One lets their customers personalize their cards.

The one card I have has a photo of my favorite college football program on it. I don't use credit cards much but I get a kick out of it when I use it at a retail shop that sells a lot of our arch rivals gear. When the card expires I will probably keep it as a piece of memorabilia of my team.

I can think of a lot of things I would use to customize my credit card with but I just haven't done it. It might look nice, but it's not like I have my credit card out enough for me to notice, or that I'd actually show it to people.

For several years, I've had a custom photo credit card from Discover. At the time that I got my custom card, I don't think they offered for you to upload your own photo - but there were several different photo/image options you could choose from, such as sports mascots/college logos, pretty landscape scenes, and famous artwork. I chose an image of Degas ballerinas. It's a really pretty card, and it makes it more fun to use. You get lots of comments about how cute your credit is, but there's really no benefit beyond having a nice-looking card.

I'm a huge 49ers fan so I enjoy having my team logo on my card. It's a fun little thing to have when making a purchase, especially when I'm out at the game. It lets people know just how loyal I am to my team. I implore every sports fan to do this, even if you are a Seahawks fan!
