A so-called photo credit card enables customers to customize the appearance of their plastic with a favorite photo or a selection of potential designs. Some people decide to personalize their photo cards with a picture of their children, spouse, pet, etc. Using your portrait as the photo can also deter unauthorized use if your card is lost or stolen.

With that being said, we recommend comparing photo credit cards (some of which come from CardHub’s partners) against all of the other cards you can qualify for in order to verify that image customization will not cost you in terms…show more

I thought the idea of putting your own photo on your credit card was pretentious and obnoxious, and I resisted it for years. But I found a great picture of my kids and it fit perfect on a card, so I ordered my photo card through Capital One and it arrived quickly. I liked that there was no extra charge for it, despite the fact that I was basically ordering a replacement card. I LOVE the photo card and it's a great little reminder of my kids that makes me smile when I'm traveling and checking into a hotel or having a meal at a restaurant. I'm glad I got it, and I no longer think they're pretentious and obnoxious anymore.

I have a Photo ID card that I recently had sent to me. I decided to go with a picture of Peyton Manning making a weird and ugly face. Peyton is my favorite player, and it makes me laugh every time I pull it out of my wallet. I think it's also a great conversation starter. People seem to really enjoy it.

I've had a photo ID credit card for the last few years and loved it. I like the added security of having my photo on the card in addition to using my ID. It is noticeable enough that the sales person will always look at it and me for comparison. Just an added layer of security. It was an easy process to upload through the bank site. Sadly, my bank is no longer continuing the service and will not have the photo/customized card option going forward. I also use another credit card and that bank does not offer the picture ID option either.

I love to customize things so having a credit card with my picture ID is very appealing to me. It would be a lot of fun! I also feel like it would be much safer. The cashier can quickly check whether or not the card belongs to me. It would probably reduce credit card fraud.

I have yet to utilize the customization option on my credit card because it seemed too complicated, but I am definitely interested in doing so in the future. I would use a photo of my cat, and I would love showing him off whenever I made purchases using my credit card.

I decided to customize my credit card with my personal photo in order to cut down on possible fraudulent use. I feel more secure with my own photo on the card, so when I use it, people do not have to question whether or not it is mine. I also like if it were lost, it might make it easier to locate me.

I love having a customized card. It's more personalized and I get compliments on it all the time (it's a pic of my 3 kids). Everyone asks how I did it and it's pretty simple to do! I did mine on my bank's website and got my card in a week! So fun and unique!

I like personalizing my credit card for a number of reasons. First and most importantly it is appealing to me, it's entertaining for sure. It is an individualistic type of culture aspect, for example I have a beautiful Elk as my credit card photo, it tells a bit about myself when I give the card to the clerk at the store, whether they care or not, sometimes it is a great conversation starter.

I like customizing my credit cards with photos because it’s fun. I love being able to show off how cool my credit card looks to my friends, family and to strangers when paying. I like to put pictures of my cats. It’s definitely a hit to all cat lovers out there.

I have customized my card with a photo. I put a photo of myself in the card so that if it ever gets lost, people will be able to see my face on the card. It’s also convenient when using it in stores so that the cashier will be able to verify I do own the card easily by just looking at the photo.

I like personal photo on my credit card. In fact, mine has the picture of my wife and kids. It reminds me to be wise and responsible in using it otherwise my family's future is at risk. So that's mainly the motive behind why I'm customizing my credit card with a photo. I like seeing my photos in my credit card because I know it is memories frozen in time and it takes me back as well to the moment I took that pic especially if you're a photography lover like me.

I love being able to customize my credit cards with my photos. It makes me feel like I am unique and have a fun card that no one else has because I get to share pictures of my dogs or family every time I hand someone my credit card.

It seems like getting a picture credit card would be a trendy (yet very intriguing) way of both securing your card as well as showing off your personality. If the card didn't have too many negatives (in comparison to a non-personalized card), having an identifiable picture (whether, as mentioned in the paragraph above, it was of a spouse/partner, a pet, or simply a favorite television character or sport) can make it more enjoyable to use the card.

Personally, given the choices above, I'd choose the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards card, mainly because of the ability to earn cash from qualifying purchases. Other cards, with the ability to earn travel points or similar rewards, just aren't as easy to use as those that give a cash reward at the end of the credit period.

Images on credit cards increase the security of transaction by way of not revealing on instant the type of card being used therefore it keeps potential credit identity theft onlookers from stealing ones information. Some images appear to be used by several institutions which is one way I think the image is used to secure transactions. Although the image can make the card look good , its just not the main reason for images on credit cards.

Credit cards with photo ID built in seem like a good security feature, but I think they provide more a false sense of security than anything. If you think about it, how often do you have to hand your card to anyone anymore? And out of those times, how often do they really give it a good look? Most of the time these days you're swiping it yourself, entering info online, or giving it to someone who just wants to run it through the machine as quickly as possible and get on with their job. They provide a lot less security than they seem and may just lead you to be more lax with your card than you should be.
